This named Basilisk also comes with the breath weapon (stonebreath) that makes basilisks so annoying to fight.

What is the eye for i got it today after it killed me i got mad and logged one 51 oger war and had cleric healing and man that is one bad come my druid was 40 and took her right out and at 51 took 3 cp heals on the war and all i got was that stupid eye whats it for
Was in a HG group and puller decided to try this guy. He hits hard and fast and his stun lasts for a minute (it seemed like it anyway, maybe not that long). He took a liking to me and LoH was the only reason I survived. He drops a granite bracer which is very nice, but expect to roll for it in a group.

I am a level 51 druid, and was quad kiting hill giants. I had them snared, and was backing up to get a little more room for my AE nuke. Then, i could not move. I was thinking, the lag was really bad today. The giants kept getting closer, i figured i could take one round of hits, then i would have to move. I kept trying to move but could not, and was killed. I was thinking of petitioning a GM about the lag, then i scrolled back and saw my messages. Either i backed into petrifin or he walked up behind me. Petrifin stunned me and hit me in the 90's as the giants approached. I came back, tracked him down, killed him, and got the bracer. I just snared, rooted, cast DOTs. He is easy to kill if you are not stunned. But if he stuns you, you may die because he hits in the 90s and the stun lasts a long time.

I've only seen him 3 times - the 1st time he beat the ^%$# outta me. That was L40 (druid) and 2 months ago. Last night I found him and whooped his **** but all he dropped was Eye of Petrifin (lore item) - he immediately spawned again and THIS time I ended up getting the Granite Bracer. Off to the auctions.............
I saw him once near the bug tower. He was already killing someone, and I was too low at the time to consider trying to help.

A friend and I were taking a little bit of a break after we had a couple of adds when we were killing a hg and the thing aggroed us, since we are pimps we manged to beat the crap out of him and he dropped the bracer, really nice bracer btw. It's a grey plate color and i'm sure it sells for quite a bit.

Ran across him today. Never heard of him before. Sent in my pet, cast darkness then feared him and finished him with bond of death. Piece of cake. got to admit though that I am level 49. He never got anything off on me and dropped the granite bracer. Gonna give it to my cleric.

This basalisk has sow so you must snare and root it ideally. He has around 2400 hp. His stone breath, even when resisted, interrupts your spells. I kited him with my 51 druid and he even managed to get a stone breath on me, despite having MR on.

the range of stone breath is the same as melee range, so if he can still hit you, he can stun you=P

Stone breath is actually a ranged attack. It is not that far, but definitely beyond melee range.

Anyone know what the range on Stonebreath is? Never tried to kite a basilisk, so I don't really know.

We were kiting HGs, I am a 35th wizard along with a 36 wizard 34 warrior and 30 shammy, anyway, the other wiz ran into him agged all over us, the warrior made it to the zone >:(
When our long awaited res arrived he had been killed and dropped the bracer. If he gets the drop on a caster say good night and farewell, can't take many hits for 97 while stunned and able to **** about it.

We killed this mob the other day and he dropped the Eye only, so I would assume that his rare is the bracer. He spawned after killing many HG's and Basilisk's. And yes, the stun hurts us casters =), but I (lvl 38 shammy, now 39) along with a 40 druid were able to take him by kiting, and a lvl 33 war nipping at his heals, unfortunately the other 2 died in the process and I finished him with under a bub of health left, so do be careful.

Super nasty mob to run into if your alone and under 40, he will stun you, and you'll never have a chance to run.
