My lvls are 80-88 most 87 .. would this be a tuff fight in this zone ??.. I did zone in but there was a skeleton there to meet me on the right mixed in with reg mobs ... thought I might agro everything so went back to killing in house of tule .., or there a way to get around him ??
maggotscalp .... seems like rarest of all named ... killed all other ones 4x over ..took a server reset to see this guy .. he was in spawn #3 .. pile of burning rubble.....
NM .waited until 90.. at low 90’s noticed (rats) have like no Argo range, run right passed them un-invisible no problem .. skeletons and erudite have small Agro ranges .. haven’t seen that in other zones - weird .. fighting skeletons one like 5 feet away wont agro ..
I was in Eruding Buring for six hours this morning trying to knock out the Hunter trophy for this zone - I had everything except Maggotscalp.
We collected ourselves at the top of the stairs, by the library. We pulled up the stairs. There is one skel that roams to the area, and a bone golem terrorizer that pops at the top of the stairs. Other than those two mobs, everything else was brought up the stairs to the group.
We were pulling everything outside the library. We killed the following during the first five hours: Femurstack 3x Garnak Pryphan 2x Kanah the Heartslicer 1x Vindel the Ripper 2x
and finally Maggotscalp 1x at the exact five hour mark (he did drop the aug). Maggotscalp spawned at the bottom of the stairs. As stated previously, PH was a skel sentry.
We then moved into the library building itself, and was slaughtering everything on all three floors as well as the line of humanoids out front. During our remaining hour we killed:
Kanah the Hartslicer 1x Handar 1x Algot 1x and TomeEater 1x.
We then bugged out. It was a fine day for killing - lots of named spawns for six hours.
While running through solo tasks I saw him up in the cubby hole between the building and wall so I pulled him. Dropped the Aug, knowledge remnant and a greater fragment, along with some trash loot.
I box a 93 BST w/ tank and 89 Druid w/ healer mercs and didn't have to use any disc's or burn with druid so rather easy.
My guild leader spent weeks trying to farm that Aug and still never dropped. she'll be so mad at me XD
I'm guessing any of the skeleton "sentry" mobs can be PHers. So far in my experience there that seems to be the case, so I'd advise focusing on keeping any sentry PHers down to up your chance of Maggotscalp spawning.
I believe they are all mentioned in previous posts at one point or another but I thought I'd concisely list all four of his possible locations, which I've confirmed he spawns in each. Each placeholder is "a skeleton sentry" :
1) -580, +405, +18 This is in the large group of skeletons right before the first tunnel as you head toward the armory.
2) -881, +46, +30 This is in the small corner just north of the armory/forge building.
3) -1131, +88, +31 This is at the bottom of the staircase north of the library.
4) -1179, +211, +36 This is in the pile of burning rubble northwest of the library.
Maggotscalp can also spawn from a 3rd spot, just north of the library. There is a sentry that stands there. This is exactly from where i had my spawn about 2 hours into camping the armory spawn. Got the ac aug on my first drop, pretty happy. :)
I have been killing Maggotscalp for over 20+ hours to get the augment for all 3 of my toons and wanted to relay the some info...
- The only Maggotscalp’s spawn point I stayed at was the one at the armory, so I can only comment to this location. I killed every skeleton mob in the area and in the surrounding areas and I can confirm that Maggotscalp only spawned from the spot that is next to the set of stairs and set back between the wall and the armory. Make sure he is not up at the other spawn sites so you are not wasting your time.
- His ph is a skeletal sentry
- The other skeletons in the area do not agro when the ph or Maggotscalp is pulled. If you want to just pull this one spawn site, it is possible without clearing any other mob.
- Maggotscalp was a rather infrequent spawn overall. I went 6 hour without a single spawn, but then had 3 spawn in a 2 hour time.
- He only dropped the augments for me every 3 or so kills
- The spells he casts are a joke. I resisted the burning paper cuts almost every time and when it did hit it was not too noticeable. I parked my group straight out from the spot that Maggotscalp spawns in the corner right next to the set of stairs. This is a safe spot where no mobs with agro on you.
- Out of all of the drops I got from the 8-9 named, I got…
* the head piece dropped for me about 6 times no chest * the type 3 ring ½ the time * the normal ring ½ the time * 5-6 of the various spell shards * 3 augments that dropped

I have been killing the ph near the armory for seven hours straight. He has not spawned one time! Does anyone know of anything weird that may keep him from spawning?
Not only can Maggotscalp spawn by the armory further south, he can also spawn on the stairs leading into the first tunnel in the zone. In the meditation chamber that houses General Arbin Derrex. He has spawned for me twice as the first two mobs on the stairs on the right hand side in that room. Before the bone golem and before the tunnel itself. Piece of cake with 90 Zerk, 90 Bst 90 Clr 90 Sk grouped. Resisted Burning Paper Cuts every time so i dont even know what it does. Has kinda average resists, resisted Confrontation of Power and Sha's Reprisal once each, but all in all hes a gimp. Max hit on my 6300 AC SK was 7688. Didnt quad for that much either so no big. Dropped Chest Remnant, Ring of Glamouring and Median Nebulous Dream Fragment. Hope this helps.
