Just started fresh... a gnome warrior on Firiona Vie. 0 Twinkage... 0 Bazaar... and havin a hella blast playin. Has brought back much of the magic of my early days in EQ. But gettin frustrated with these young ebon drakes. I have killed at least 2 dozen of the buggers in the past 2 days and still no ribcage. I begin to dispair that I will ever earn my uber Initiate Watchman's Long Sword!

I started killing every mob in the valley and plateau north of windmill. After an hour, I only saw 3 Young Ebon Drakes, but then, they started spawning every 5 minutes or so. My advice is part your alt (or yourself) and get your main (or someone else) to clear the whole area and once you get one, run your alt to loot.
The bile seems to be a semi rare drop (got 1 after 10-15 kills).

i fought one yellow and got my *** kicked. i was my twinked gnome wizzy and had 210 hp and all new spells and it still killed me with 2 bubbles left and i hate that spell they cast that does like 15dmg.

I'm trying to actually accomplish the shadowwalkers chainmail sleeves right now and need a young ebon drake wing to do so. However, doesnt matter how many I kill, or how long I try, I have not yet had one drop. No-one knows they exist really, and they certainly dont seem to show signs to prove otherwise. I spent 8 hours yesterday, had a druid tracking, and others killing for placeholders - still only a couple drakes every hour, and no luck. Personally, I feel there is a little something wrong with the difficulty it is to find a NEWBIE quest item :P Well at least, thats my opinion.

Needing a Young Ebon Drake Wing for my Shadowwalker Chainmail Sleeves,I killed at least a dozen Young Ebon Drakes, which are not very abundant, and never got the wing. Usually it was near the windmills or on the U-shaped hill just west of them. So I started checking all the merchants and, by golly, I found one on a merchant in the Mines of Morannon, and made my sleeves. He had only one. My lvl 12 rogue still doesn't have all the Shadowwalker Chainmail armor pieces, but does have most of them.

These guys spawn north of the wind mills... However, it seems the more kabold scouts slain the more pop in this area. But I have yet to see a "young ebon drake wing"

What are their spawn points? Do they have placeholders? So far I have seen about 2 of them, both in the valley north-northwest of the windmills.

The only thing I have to add is that they don't spawn very often. Kill them all and you need to wait quite a while for them to come back.

My best advice when fighting these guys is instead of running you should stick it out if you have 2 bubbles left and they have half of their life becuase I have had many of victories with these guys in the last few hits. Its like after you are down to 1 bubble they can't hit crap, so stick with it and you'll win 9 times out of 10

Some one was a bit of a fool me thinks cause they left a ribcage and it's worth 5pp which is good for my new chanter who could use the cash but does it acutally have a purpose

Nothing listed about the bile that they drop for a very good low lv quest for knome mages,, im not happy to find nothing about the collective initiate mage quest in ally kaz, but this drake drops a bile needed for the tunic.

r these guys at all like emeralds in the buthcherblocks, cause if they r they r hard to tank if the have fire encasing spells.

gives oynx gems, killed 3-4 got 1 every other time

So far I've gotten a malachite, a silver stud, and a copper band. Seems like this would be a good mob for some enchanters... items needed for jewelcrafting...

They drop low end jems every now and then but that is the only loot I have looted off them.

The "A Young Ebon Drake"s are perfect victims for the huntings of a group of level 7-8-9ish people of almost all classes. Make sure there's a tank, however, because these little things will dish damage to single digit levels. However, they give good exp, and they don't gang up on you.
