pick pocketed him multiple times he didnt attack me.Eventualy he called me a thief and attacked after like 125 pick pockets on him,got esscence of rathe from him as well as some money.

A few guildy's were trying to do quest with this guy when someone killed him not knowing what he was for.../sigh

I asked him about Solusek Ro and he gave a responce. I tried other god names but got nothing. A little more info for this guy if that helps.
There are three reasons make me believe that he is quest oriented.
1. I really doubt Verant would want to just **** us off a little (they like to do it in a huge amount).
2. Verant states that over 50% of quests are unsolved.
3. I was once running around when I was a newb and talked to someone when he said something about an efreeti of ro.

was wandering around with my chanter and yeah u guessed it hailed this guy, saw what he did then came here to read the posts, well it got me thinking maybe if u give this guy some offerings it would increase your faction? so i give him 5 plat and he tells me thank you for the money, i end up giving him about 100 pp total with no change in consideration, but maybe that wasnt enough oUÀ¨˜ybe u can give him certain items to increase your faction just a thought

Hailing him lowers your Temple of Solusek Ro faction by 50 points these days. If you go in at indifferent, 11 Hails would lower your faction into threatening territory where the zone will start beating on you just for being there. I did this with a level 1 toon just for curiosity.
So if you've accidentally hailed him, that's 50 points of faction you might need to regain. 100 if you hailed him twice.

Ok...i have an idea. I am not willing to try it myself as i screwed myself yesterday by hailing him too.
Has anyone ever tried hailing him in a different language other than common? Does he have a native tongue that may be more appealing to his ears? Just an IDEA for anyone who is willing to try it.

This guy will actually do something other than kill your faction when hailed. There are a few questions he will answer and it doesn't affect faction. It was roughly 6 months ago when I did this and I remember that there were at least 2 questions he would answer but the only one I remember at the moment is: "Who is Solusek Ro?" and he answers with some answer that doesn't give you any real info. So it seems he remains useless.
I did the same thing. My Gnome Mage was exploring the Temple for the first time, I saw him and hailed him, being the friendly Gnome he is. Got the faction hit. Pissed me off. Immediately I checked here and found out about the Hail/Hit too late. My Necro now has a quest to off this guy.

What the F@ck! I hailed this guy, and my faction got worse???!!?!?!!??!?!? F@ck you Verant, Piece of ****. There should be some kind of warning in there.*sigh* I need this place for my epic. Im really mad right now. And if you hail him bad faction so the temple hates this guy but then whys it get worse when you kill him? I better be able to raise my faction back to where it was or im... bah I dont know yet. This is not cool at all how come Verant does stuff like this? If there is any other stupid things that can scew up my game like this please let me know.
EQ atlas states somthing to the effect of him being the head guy of the temple and being all **** about being disturbed, so when hailing him you are disturbing him, and when you disturb him you annoy him lowering your faction with him and his faction = temple's faction. And when you kill him its like killing the president...... everyone hates you because you killed their leader (assuming his last name isnt bush, lol)
a) I imagine the reason your faction drops is not because he is hated in the temple, but because he is worshipped (he's a fire spirit) - hailing him is...blasphemous, rude, whatever. This would be why your faction drops more when you kill him.
b) Kill shadowed men to raise faction back up.
c) I think it's kinda cool to have these things in the game, would be damn boring otherwise.

Could that elemental drop the so-sought-after "power of fire" needed for Mage Epic, that mages must camp for hours in Solusek A ?

well... i hailed this **** last night.. lost faction for it.. no news there... but then i noticed this little path running down the side.... i thought "hey1.. what's this?" and went down... i got down so i was even with the lave ... and then some voice started speaking about some lost metal... or some such.. did not stick around cuz i was looking for Romar Sunto.... maybe if one were to listen to the voice(and no it was not a voice in my head :P )then maybe there would be some solution to who this stoopid dude is...

Boy did they get a kick out of it when I told them what happened because it is common knowledge that I talk too much. Frankly I think this is one of Verant's funnier jokes >)

Ok so I killed this Commi ******* and guess what? Not a damn thing dropped. Now I wanna do some questing in Sol Temple. But when I checked my faction, it was dubious. I must have got great faction before killing this punk ***. But dubious isn't good enough to do quest, so I need to raise faction right? Well, this is the BS part. I killed over 100 Shadowmen and spent nearly 160pp, yep PP not GP, on that fool in SRo.. and what repayment do I get? Still friggin Dubious. So for those who haven't killed him yet,... don't do it. Nothing drops and u ruin faction like a ****

FYI, do not hail this guy if they are indiffernt to you or you wont be able to do many quests cause he will drop your faction big time
