So Jelvalak's placeholders are any of the undead in the tomb but there's a catch. They spawn roughly once per hour of in-game time or thereabouts but you can only interact with them at night (5 pm to 5 am). They despawn at 5 am but soon respawn and immediately flop on the ground. During the day they cannot be targeted and will not aggro. Their exact spawn points are randomized in the tomb.
Jelvalak spawned exactly at midnight (12 AM) Everquest time inside the coffin. (use command /time). Skelestons start spawning in the coffin rooms at 8 PM every 2 hours. I do not know at what time they conclude spawning.
Just killed him for the first time after camping this zone for days. He only cast Harm Touch once in the beginning, which was resisted. Never spawned a pet. I had him stunned most of the time though. Dropped Archaic Plate Helm...little disappointed. Maybe I'll come across him again before I quit camping here. :)
Conned DB to me just now @ lvl 82 (Mage) on E-marr. Spawned pet at 98%, so not sure where you all got the 50% from. Wasnt paying attention and aggro'd undead soldier at entrance to his room, and aggro'd him. Wasn't even close to being ready, so i just gated. Went back to try him, ready and paying attention this time. Dropped Living Bone Gorget. Tough fight, pretty close a few times. Merc was OOM from constantly healing the whole fight.

Coming down cave, on right hand side in the coffin. He wasn't up at 11PM gasme time. At 12PM game time he spawned along with 1 undead soldier there. (Two other putrid skeletons spawned in other room.)
Dropped Living Bone Gorget, fine bone chips and fine skeleton bones.
Tried doing this sucker with my 77 Druid w/T1 tank merc and boxed 77 Enchanter w/T1 cleric merc. He was yellow on my track, and pulled him out of the tomb area on side of zone not too far from Village. Only got him on pull so considered myself lucky....and for the first half of the fight things were touch and go because his AE damage spell was keeping my Druid and Enchanter hurt, which meant that the cleric merc was focusing on healing the entire group instead of just focusing on the tank merc. When the Tomblord popped his very large (but lower lvl) skeleton pet, it was too much for me to keep up with boxing, and tank merc took a dirt nap. It was Exodus hotkey time.
I think I may try him again before leveling, but will take a look at possibly putting my Druid and Enchanter off to the sides or behind him to see if the AE damage hits them during fight. If all the healing can be concentrated on the tank merc, then it might be more doable at my current level. Otherwise, will gain a couple levels and try again. As far as the stated level of 82.....well with my guys being 77...he would not have conned yellow on track at 82....so im thinking he certainly has a range which probably starts at 79.

Killed him today, he was in fact 78 when I killed him as he was dark blue at 81 also dropped helmet. AoE is nasty, one merc on reactive, one on efficent, still had two members get down to 11% health, grp consisted of 81 chanter, 81 zerker (as the tank, 80 ranger, and 73 bard.
85 monk pulled him and an add out of the cave. He AEed the first time before clearing the cave entrance. 83 necro mezzed add and the pet he pops during the fight, then slowed the named. He AEd again, which hit the monk and cleric who were in front of him, but not the necro who was then off to the side.
The AE may be less often than 30 seconds, or maybe it doesn't happen as often if he's slowed. He only cast it twice for us. Doesn't have a lot of HPs. Killed with the monk and necro, and a merc cleric healing.
If it weren't for the AE, this guy would be a pushover. If you know he's coming, standing to the side of the cave mouth might shield the rest of the group from the initial blast.
I pulled this big bad Red Skelly mob out of cave east of the village. Was blue to my 80 monk, but red to my 76 bard, so mob is level 79. This guy AoE's a 6k DD that hit about every 30 seconds. My bard hit selos and ran north for the zone. He was still getting hit with the AoE about halfway to the zoneline. Reminded me of Trakanon in Old Seb. I wasn't prepared for the area effect, so I will post again when I take him down.
