The quest faction states
Factions Raised:â€¢Antonius Bayle +1, +1, +1
â€¢Guards of Qeynos +5, +2, +2

Factions Lowered:â€¢Circle Of Unseen Hands -1, -1, -1
â€¢Corrupt Qeynos Guards -1, -1, -1

So I am assuming Zamel has the same faction hits

That might be a safe assumption, but don't count on it. Dev team for EQ has never equated killing the NPC as matching their quest faction hits, at least not with any certainty.

Camped the docks for hours - cant find him!. Has he gone? does the quest still exist (I have a dress)? Can anyone help a poor little dark elf who has been skulking in the shadows around the docks (people will get the wrong idea!)?

He's not by the docks. I found him standing by the pond in front of the bank. I'm pretty sure that's where he usually is.

This quest has been nerfed. The dresses are now lore, so you have to run them up one at a time. To make things worse, you can't hand him dresses while invisible because of yesterday's patch. My Erudite Necro is now TSOL. I'm dubious to him. As mentioned below, don't bother handing dresses in if you're dubious.

I'm only level 14, and I'd really like to get those earrings, so I'm going to try to raise my faction with this guy. I'll post if I have any luck.

Anyone here done the pally newb quest leading to the soul fire, the blade shop is called zamel's blades, thot you might find that intrigueing.

Conned dubious, he gave me quest, turned dress in and he said he wouldn't aid anyone such as myself. Any ideas on how to increase faction with him? Is he on guard or merchant faction?

If you are KOS in Qeynos, do not give Zamel the dress yourself. Even if you go invisible, you will not be able to complete the quest! You need another player with good faction to hand in the dress for you to get the earing. Otherwise, He will not give you anything, try to kill you, and call the guards. Thank god for gate!
