I've been camping Glutakan with my necro on and off for a while looking for the bones but none have dropped yet, just the pauldrens. Don't be misled by the pauldrons either, these have nice stats and are not the statless armor for the quest.
You can easily invis up to the top of the plateau with the apes. Nothing sees invis either on the way up or up at the top.
When you first get there, Look at all the flying holgersh and see if Glutakan is up already, you don't want to kill placeholders if he's up already, but you will have kill to get to him.
The Holgresh (all casters) tend to cast Mala which lasts 13 minutes or so, much longer than the tash you get from the caster efreeti down below.
All the holgresh and apes are place holders for Glutakan so what you really need to do is clear as many as you can and then each repop might be Glutakan.
I usually run up to the top and turn left. There's a path that runs along the cliff edge and it has a wandering mob on it which is pretty easy to kite along the path. Be careful of another wandering mob that comes out of the forest and onto the path. Once the 1st one is dead just start to pick off the other wandering mobs. Then go after the static ones while you have time. It's a 20-25 minute repop time and since I usually kite along the path but I have to watch out for the first repop back on the path.
The holgresh stop very often to cast and with my pet stunning them they don't move much at all so if you're in the path of a wanderer who has wandered off, be sure he does not wander back and add in.
A few of the apes seem to run faster than normal and when you snare them they run faster then normal as well.
Pathing up here is way better then with the efreeti. They run fairly straight and there is no gateing or other weird popping on top of you.
For my 80 necro all the apes and holgresh are light blue except Glutakan. Down in the lower regions at least some of the efreeti are dark blue.
