(The task begins by hailing Mer, as per previous tasks in this series)
You say, 'Hail, Mer'
Mer says 'I pray our little ruse [works]. You should be prepared to defend yourself in any case though. The siren legends don't describe them as particularly trustworthy.'
You say, 'works'
Mer says 'Well, they seem pretty serious about those charts. Lucky I've been raised around sailors, isn't it? It would be a betrayal to give them the real charts, but look here. While you were gone I had these replicas made up through the cartographer. They look as official as can be, but the relevant information has been fabricated! They will never know the difference. Please try again. Take these to their leader and bargain for Renne's life!'
You have been assigned the task 'Never Trust a Siren'.
(The task leader is given "Shipping Plans", lore, no-drop, low-weight)
--
Step 1: Purchase a ticket to Maiden's Grave
Targeted (Merchant): Dockmaster Weatherby
Dockmaster Weatherby tells you, 'That'll be 0 money for the Seafarer's Ticket: Maiden's Grave.'
You give to Dockmaster Weatherby.
Your task 'Never Trust a Siren' has been updated.

Step 2: Speak to Cereltynne, the siren queen
You say, 'Hail, Cereltynne'
Cereltynne 's eyes size each of you up as you approach what must be her throne. A beaten and bruised man dressed in torn sailor's garb lays crumpled at her feet. She speaks in a raspy tone of cold confidence. "What have you brought to me mammals? Show me quickly before I grow bored and feed you to my sisters."
Your task 'Never Trust a Siren' has been updated.
(Cereltynne is a level 76/77 siren, located in the center of the island. She has two level 75 "Siren Guardians" near her, and a human "Renne". It is necessary to clear 7 or 8 sirens to get to her.)
--
Step 3: Give the shipping plans to Cereltynne
Cereltynne peers over the charts for several moments. "These will prove most useful. You have my thanks mammals. Pity that I am not in a generous mood or you might have left the island alive." You hear a chorus of wicked laughter slither across the air as the queen and her sisters turn towards you with malice in their eyes.
Your task 'Never Trust a Siren' has been updated.
(On handing over the "Shipping Plans", the two siren guardians attacked. Cereltynne remained indiff. The guardians were easily split, and hit a 14K SK tank for a max of 800)
--
Step 4: Kill Cereltynne
(Cereltynne hit for a max of 900, was slowable, snarable, and did not summon. She was immune to stun. She remained indiff untill pulled)
Cereltynne staggers and turns pale.
Your task 'Never Trust a Siren' has been updated.
--
Step #5: Rescue Renne
You say, 'Hail, Renne'
Your task 'Never Trust a Siren' has been updated.
Renee groans as you turn him over. His eyes are nearly swollen shut and dried blood is splattered across much of his face. He looks over at the corpse of Cereltynne and you see the hint of a small smile cross his lips. Thank you strangers, you have no idea how much I wanted to see that witch dead and bloody. I only wish I could have helped deliver a few blows. I don't suppose you'd be so kind as to give me a lift back to the mainland? Mer must be terribly worried about me by now.
(This completed the task. The reard was Blacksail Smugglers faction and 40 doubloons, as per previous tasks in this arc)
--
There was no extra reward for completing the arc. Until the 5th task was done, any previous task could be requested. Having completed the 5th task, Mer no longer responds to hails. A shame, as this last task took less than 15 mins.
