Spawned within 20 minutes from starting clearing elementals at the geyser.
He's slightly bigger than regular elementals so its easy to spot him when he is up.
With levi he wasnt harder than regular ones. Dropped essence, gloves and egg.
Since his placeholders die faster than their respawn cycle, I'd recommend clearing drakes as well since they are PHs for the next CoL mob - Dranadune.
Guess I was lucky but Dranadune spawned few seconds after Doomfont died.
At 73 all drakes/elementals were DB or LB and gave good AA exp.

Also has 200k Death Touch in addition to gravity flux spell.

He does not have a Death Touch.
As stated in multiple posts below, his GFlux can throw you high enough to take 200k falling damage.

Well I have killed him 20+ times in last month and have been thrown in air land and keep fighting. I usually fighting with botu 17k from lack of buffs after they wear off and no idea what happened but memeber fo group got thrown up and he died? I'm 72 War.
Have levitate on for the fight, got gravity fluxed and fell for 20k dmg. ouch. Otherwise he's cake
Just so you know the damage from the fall is 200,000 not 20,000
yes levitate is needed but only for the tank since its single target gflux. Killed him about 8 times in two evenings. Spawns often. He dropped the gloves every time I think. Always has the essence plus 1 vendor junk item at least.

Any info on how hard this guy hits or how many HP?
I want to try to solo him with my 80 paladin, well geared with 16.5k unbuffed hp and 3700ac unbuffed, but don't want to waste my time if I'll need a friend.

Does he have a place holder or is he on a timer? I have yet to see him up.
His PHs are the geyser elementals that spawn around the geyser. I cleared out these elementals about 5 or 6 times and Doomfount finaly spawned.

He was white to me at 70 this morning. He summoned. He has a nifty gravity flux spell that he likes to throw you in the air. Have levi on or you might fall for 20k like me this morning!
