I am sitting down here in CC as I write this. Been killing for about 3 days of all the Terrors in here down by the spider camp. The only Terrors here are the Stalag Terrors and a few named ones. No Tentacle Terrors spawn here just to clairify. If they spawn in another part of the zone, then I am unaware of them. They do not drop any Jade Shards for thoes of you looking for them here....Thes have the same graphic as the TT's but don't drop the shards thus far. Killed about 300 of them thus far.
I found that several of these in Najeena were blue to me at 29th so the "17 to 22" in the text at top is inaccurate -- I'd place them more around 23-28. Also they are extremely hostile, but not unkillable since, while the blowback can be annoying, their other spells don't actually do that much dmg.
Does anyone else have flashbacks of bad 50s sci-fi flicks when fighting these things? ;-)

As a 27 mage, with a healthy pet, and using eye of zoom (cool spell btw), I was able to clear the ogre guard outside of the small front room and I knew where the roaming ogre guard was. I went in, put my back to the wall and sent in my pet. It was nice seeing my pet blasted back and then I started to nuke. Nuked once for 200 and then the second tt joined the one on my pet. I nuked again for 200 and then the second tt went after me. I remained calm and I was able to nuke the first one again for nearly 200 and then my pet finished the first one off and then went after the one on me. Nuked that one a few times, killed it, had 3/4 health and 1 bulb of mana. Looted the tt whip, went out and sat down for a bit and then did it all over again. I had the place well camped and got alomost a full bulb of xp in over an hour. Good hunting to all.
My level 19 Shadow Night mate and I will be hitting this one next. We will be going for the one in the small room before the cavernous tt area. We plan on getting rid of all of the elementals near that room and getting rid of the ogre guard that roams and then going for this tt. We are thinking of using my area affect attack spell once by earth pet roots it in the corner but are concerned about the bad agro with any area spell in Najena. Any suggestions on attacking would be helpful.
Just you, level 18, and another guy, level 19, are going to try going down past the basement of unrest and then use an area effect spell to take out a tentacle terror? Dude, whatever you're on I want it too cuz that must be some serious stuff. Do you not realize that there are enough trains in unrest as it is already? But you plan on going down past the basement with two sub 20 guys and take out everything that you attack with an area effect spell. You know, no matter how much I say that I just can't make myself believe that you could actually think this will work. All I can say is that if you really intend on doing this then you are going to die and probably not just once or twice, either, but many many times.
The page you looted of the Tentacle Terror is part of the Magician Epic Quest. It does not seem to drop off the terrors in Najena (although there are five total pieces in Najena otherwise needed for Mage Epic) but maybe I jsut wans't lucky there with them.
I have never seen one of the pages drop off the Terrors in Najena, and I've killed dozens. Looks like you're gonna be restricted to hunting in Unrest's basement.

I got this today off a Dark Terror in Unrest. I've fought about 10 to 20 terrors in Najena and never saw it drop, but I may have been unlucky. All I can verify is that it does drop in Unrest.
if you are going to hunt these in najena (great experience to solo) run in to the wall behind them and turn around. it will be close combat but there pushback spell will not push you anywhere because your back is against the wall.
This way the pushback spell will also not disrupt your spellcasting, but them hitting u might. Not perfect, but i also find that if you are in behind one, you will not argo the other on the other side of the room.
While in Unrest killing these guys, I did this. Started off by pulling with a dot, then root then add another dot, then I run a little bit around the corner so he cant cast at me. I sit and med while his life goes down. When the first dot goes away run back around and start casting more. It worked pretty good, also as you mentioned, while casting at them its a good idea to keep your back against a wall so that they dont knock you backwards to far. Hope this helps
It is the Level 1 Necro/Level 9 SK lifetap spell. Takes 5 HP from enemy when it goes off, gives them to you.
It procs at level 1. Yes, that means it is one of the few procs in the game for level 1's.
As for getting it earn the damn thing yourself. It's not that hard to get. Or buy it. At only 20pp, get and sell 2 HQ pelts and you can afford it.
Anyone who charges over 20pp is full of it. It's not that great of a weapon, the proc is useless after about level 8 (some would say sooner), and it's fairly easy to acquire.
I love these guys. As hard as they can hit sometimes i love battling them. Nothing in EQ i think is as fun as being knocked across the room when fighting these goofballs.
Once even i got knocked down a hallway and around the corner in the entrance to Najena. I look forward to playing with these jokers again!

Interesting thing happened to me when I was on a raid with my guild in Unrest. We were in the ghost room (one terror spawns near it). Just a little note about this camp, be careful not to get a blowback into the pit because it's a pain to climb back out. Anyways, I was fighting one of these and it used a blowback on me, then WA-BAM! I hit one of the walls in the room. It was kind of funny because I stuck to the wall for a few seconds then sorta slid off, like I would think any wood elf would if they were tossed against a wall. No extra hp loss or anything, it was just pretty cool feeling. I guess you have to be there.
well it depends. honestly melee wise both of these whips are about the same with ratios of about 6.25 for the tentacle whip, and 6.6 for the gnoll hide lariat. Both are pretty pathetic ratios. what makes the waepons worthwile are the stun ,and lifetap effects. So if you think lifetap is better than youll like this whip more, but if you watn the stun effect than the gnoll hide lariat would be a better choice
I tested out your idea. It's not really feasible. root kept dropping before it would knock me back. And when it did stick, i got blasted all the same. On a different note, the tentacle terrors in najena all conned blue to me at 26, so i don't think they go all the way down to level 17.
The ones that are about 20-24 in Najena have about 600-700 hps as close as I can tell. I've hit them with 4 chaos fluxes (150 damage each) with my pet whacking away for good damage, and that usually brings them down.

while killing terrors camping the spirit, killed 2 at once and both dropped torn page of Magi'kot og 2. No drop looks like a scroll. Wondering if anyone knows what they are for...
Its one of the subquests for the Magician Epic sorry FA is wrong because the FA quest is baby bullshyt compared to the mage epic d: Page 1 drops in Kithicor from dreadwolfes rare and from the enraged dread wolf (which seems to be higher than normals) common page 2 always drop from dark and Tentacle Terrors in unrest Page 3 always drop from bloodthirsty and frenzy ghouls in guk
Heh, the description mentions that fighting these next to a zone might cause that push spell to force you to zone. Quite the contrary. I zoned into Najena once to find myself face to face with a couple of these and an earth elemental. Elemental rooted me, Terror blasted me, and knocked me BEHIND the zone. Interesting effect. The funny thing was, nothing followed or recognized me past the zone line, they just stood there. No casting, no melee. When I ran back up to them, the zone line zoned me back into Lavastorm facing the zone.
