I think each AoE is on its own cooldown timer, independent of the other spells. Here's the raw data of spells she cast during one fight. The number on the left is how many seconds it has been since her last cast of anything. The number on the right is how many seconds until she casts that same spell again.

I can't find any pattern to her overall cast timings, but I do see consistent patterns of timings from one cast to the next of the same spell. Seems like:
  • Blinding Memories is on a 48s cooldown
  • Chanting Flames is on a 1m 15s cooldown*
  • Chanting Plague had no discernible pattern
  • Chanting Venom may be on a 1m 40s cooldown


She opened with Blinding Memories (the spell slow/debuff/no discs) as soon as I engaged - not sure if this was a fluke or if she will always cast this first. However I believe that spell description may be inaccurate as I didn't get dispelled at all during the fight. It's possible the dispell makes its own resist check and I resisted all the dispells while still eating the debuff. She did not cast Chanting Winds a single time during the fight. She only cast Chanting Venom twice so that timer estimate has a very large margin of error.
*The final cast of Chanting Flames was after a 25s cooldown. Not sure what to make of that, as the other 3 CDs were all precisely 1m15s.

Did this one solo, usually have a few little twink bots with me but wanted to see how fast I could take her down alone with her being undead. Not too bad for cleric DPS. I was surprised that she still could output over 1K dps on almost 8K AC. Still, the vast majority(14% of the 24% that actually landed) of the hits were for 1233. Oh, and not a single AE landed on him that I recall. I know the dispell didn't for sure.

Boxed 91 sk healer merc with 90 raid geared 48k mana wizzie healer merc also. Long fight without dps. Single healer will go dry reccomend 2 healer mercs if no dps handie.

This poster inspired me to kill some time of my own while I was killing gargoyle mobs for some twink rogue gear. Always loved ToB.

MMA was an easy but stupidly long molo for a level 90 group-only HoT T4 geared SK. Fight lasted about 35 minutes. Felt like I was soloing Hanvar all over again, sheesh. Two HTs, two VoDs, epic every time it refreshed, kept whatever DoTs I could stick gong at all times just to whittle her % down. I probably didn't need the merc at all, but I figured better safe than sorry.

Dropped the aug and a Last Blood. I snatched the aug with my rogue, and I /general'd the Last Blood and got spammed with "OMGZ d00d I needz teh LB" tells (not embellishing much either) as I gated out.

It was a good trophy kill, not something I'd do again, but hey it was something different to do and that's one thing EQ's all about.

I'm suprised to see no strats posted for any of the muses in ToB. Any of you out there that have bested these nasties interested in telling how you came to do it?

My guild does great against the trash mobs and lesser bosses, but the muse bosses just eat us alive. Any insight would make my day : )

- As with all of ToB, max resists (circle, guard, dmf, tribunal)
- Everyone needs levitate
- Everyone needs a disease/poison curer
- Pull the gargoyles before you start on her
- MMA leashes to the middle of the bridge, so fight her there
- No rampage, so just be sure the MT keeps her in the center of the bridge, and watch push
- No HoA/AoA (ranger AE) as there are mobs directly below
- If blinded, NO RUNNING AROUND!
- Undead so have the clerics click their turn undead, and unleash the pallies
- Simple zerg fight really

The best ways to wipe are to accidentally leash MMA by pushing her off the bridge, or by the raid force being sapped away from the dots. Concentrate on those two areas, and everything else should be okay.

Heh, but I guess if you actually want to kill her..

Use your map.
Fight is like any other mob. But she blinds.
however, you can see yourself on the map, and not fall off the bridge.

Just did the encounter and from what we could tell she is a bard and cycles her ae's every 45 seconds roughly. We also saw four ae's:

Chanting Plague:
4500dd
1k hp a tic
36 disease counter increase
Decrease dis resist by 200

Chanting Flames:
5500dd
1k hp a tick
36 dis curse counter increase
Decrease fir resist by 250

Blinding Memories:
Decrease spell haste by 60%
Decrease atk by 235
Cancel magic (9)
Cancel magic (9)
Limit: combat abilities not allowed

Chanting Venom:
4500dd
Blind (1)
Increase poison counter by 36
Decrease poison resist by 300

Was also told she also has one more ae:

Chanting winds:
7000dd
Decrease cold resist by 300

It depends on server resets and which server, because she has, and has not seen regular invis.

However, she *never* sees through IvUndead.
