I spent a few hours running around Commonlands for my newbie armor on my HEF BRD. Finally I decide to go to North Ro and hunt the sand scarabs instead... which drop the same stuff. Got the giant scarab brain first kill! It also had 3 other items on it... giant scarab egg sac, pristine scarab eye, and giant scarab legs. So yea, I recommend hunting these things in North Ro. PLUS they're all over the place... so they're not hard to find.
Or if it's easier for you to go to South Ro, they're all over the place there too.

In EC at least, this mob apparently no longer appears, however the giant leaf scarabs do, and they carry the pristine giant scarab legs...they may carry other items on this page too.

In East Commonlands there are supposed to be giant scarabs and I remember there being some years ago. I went today to get some giant scarab eyes, but all I could find in the two hours I swept through zone with no others hunting, were Giant Leaf Scarabs, which do not drop the Giant Scarab Eye. I tried Hunting the Giant Scarabs in BB and they did not drop any eyes. I was wondering where the best place is to get Giant Scarab Eyes or are they just rare on all of them regardless of zone? In that case, where is the largest concentration of them. hank you for your help.

The Giant Scarabs in Mysty Thicket sometimes cons yellow to my lev 10 druid so i think that they must have a higher max lev than 9. Additionally, they drop pristine giant scarab carapace so they can be used for the scarab armor quest.
if you have a new char in Mysty thicket you can hunt the giant scarab for their carapaces, while you try to build your faction high enough with the wall guards to get the squad ring...kill two birds with one stone....

that's confirmed... about 1 in 4 or 5 /cons white to my L11... don't hit too hard for a L11 though...

im a level 11 paladen and still get ok exp for them, The reason I love these ugly bugs so much is they will never run. They just stay there till you slay them. That is great for a newbie because you can stay near the guards at the cross roads and fight them. If you get in trouble run to the guards. As for the last post Ive been killing them for 6 levels and yes they will swarm you. Usually no more than two. I have been swarmed by three before but there are not ussually that many around. I would recomend anyone between level 5-11 to hunt these.

It took me a good day after being ported into Gfay to realize that my Barbarian Warrior of his 6th Season was going nowhere.
Then I heard about giant bugs.. so I went to kill a few.
Five fights later, at my 8th Season, I had about 20 pp from selling off pieces and parts.
These giant bugs in the BB area are amazing, giving great XP for most any level below 13th.

My lvl 9 woodelf ranger killed a bunch of these things and i did'nt get any of the carpas things one person in my group got some carpas thing and complete the quest. He could not wear it so I gave him 20gp for it later on I go trided of carrying it arround and sold it to a merchant for about 25gp. The merchant wanted 300gp for it. Auction these things of if u can't use them, or give to an elf friend.
Does anyone know if any other carpice amor can be worn by a wood elf?

Ok someone was /ooc and said thay was sellin scrab BP for about 17plat.So i sent them a tell and sayed i would pay 10 for it thay said nah u will have to pay 13plat so i said ok went to the bank WITH HER i said 10plat agin and she said yes so i got the BP and i need the boots and helm i have to go do the quest. SO LATERZ

Last night i tanked like 4 or 5 with my lvl 8 ranger in the Butcherblocks. These suckers hit for 13 every once and a while, but watch out they are like bees, if u attack 1 more and more attack u at a time.

In Misty Thicket, they go up to level 11. These guys give great exp, and I recommend you hunt them. Just remember, in BB they're 7-9, but in misty thicket they're 9-11.
I love these guys. They are not too tough and especially once I hit 13 or so they became really easy to solo. They drop their shells and eggs which sell for a rather nice bit of gold to vendors.

as a 8th level rogue (kinda twinked) one of these guys conned red to me in misty and all con yellow if not red. the yellow ones are very easy and it only took 2 of my bubbles of life away soloing them and i got a yellow bubble from it. so these are really great exp. oh ya i have a scarab helm bi leggins, tunic, wrist,and boots and a walrus tooth. so a level 9 could easily solo these things for great exp if not twinked if ur twinked at level 8. hope i helped.

as lvl 10 druid met scarabs who conned yellow to me, what cons white to me I can not slay. The blue ones I slay, but indeed little loot.

I love killing these things. when I first came into EC I found a lot of these and got nice EXP for killing them. Now i can't find any. I kill asp snakes now and get good EXP for that now but the only diffrence is that these giant scarabs don't blast u with poison. So be lucky if u see any and just think of me sitting in a corner hoping the poison will ware off.....

These guys are good to fight even if your a lvl 6 fighter. They have a slow attack and miss alot. Side step bettwen attacks to deal max damage
