For those of you who have posted that this mob spawns ever 15 mins or so....I fail to see the humor in you post....if true ...fabled and regular gullerback wouldnt spawn after 3 days of constant camping and killing ....decided to bazaar a shoulder for my 51 ranger till he can wear a drop from the hags in barren coast....Took 75 paly to burning woods, killed EVERTHING...literally in zone....one end to the other and no spawn....Ive seen his right honourable self, Gullerback, twice in my 6 year eq life....both times at the undead camp south and a little west of the giant fort...good luck!
I do not know about this year, since we didn't go after good ol'Gullerback this year, but in previous anniversary periods, it was easy enough to pop the Fabled Gullerback--if he wasn't already waiting for you(!), and part of his path is the area you describe.
It is possible that when they worked on BW for this year's anniversary period (they finally fixed just this year the Fabled Gorgul Paclock), it is possible they changed the pop rate for the Fabled Gullerback because he had been so easy to run down. (All fabled shoulda been that easy.)
Either that, or you are having extraordinarily bad luck.
Appears to be broken, at the moment. I've put in over 40 hrs, total, camping him this fabled season, without one sighting. In fact, I've only seen normal Gullerback twice, and Azdalin once. This despite killing everything that moves between the giant fort and the SW corner of the zone.
I did petition about a week after the fabled season returned, and the GM who replied indicated that he could not find Fabled Gullerback anywhere ingame, nor did the logs show him as having been killed this season. He said he'd pass this report upwards, but nothing came of this or my /bug report.
Not disputing the shaman's claim of killing him on March 27th, but he definitely spawns FAR less often than he used to. Previous years he was pretty easy to get to spawn. Not anymore.
Finally Found Fabled Gullerback today. Solo'ed him with 75 Shaman. He isn't slowable or root. I had Damageshield, Pet and Sting of the Queen Nukes dropped him
My 55 Pally got the Fabled Tattered Mantle as an upgrade.
Just got him today with a 57 Warrior (in masters gear), 58 Cleric an 60 Enchanter no aa on any of us...He was abit tough but my cleric has new shoulders now.. I got the shoulders cus the warrior declined =)
Duo'd 68bst and 65 cleric the other day. Didn't bother trying to slow. Popped a celestial potion and went in with pet. Melee'd til potion dropped. That way pet procced a few times to give cleric some safety from aggro. Stood back and let pet melee while I poison dotted and patch healed. Was a long fight. Would have been much faster with legecy of the spike on pet. Nice mantle though.
It's tough but he CAN be slowed with bard slow. Had Chaos chant in twist, and used Zuriki's slow, but managed to get it to land. The fight was still long but gave me chance to get 2 heal pots used. MR is MEGA high on this mob.
soloed this mob today 70 druid pulled with debuffs then just hit sotg lets ds kill hit aa pet him hit oaken guard at enrage finshed up 30m had to use 2 heals and 1pot.
spawn location: in the charred area southeast of the giant fort
spawn time: 5-6 minutes (pretty fast)
hits for: 200-600 (and fairly quickly)
slowable: not by a bard that's for sure
stunnable: no
snareable: no
we trio'd with 70 nec (95 aa's), 70 bard (60 aa's) and 60 paladin (11 aa's). it was pretty tough since the paladin couldn't tank him very well in his crap gear. we had the bard invul disc for the first 15% then chain heal from nec and pal on the nec pet.
Some posters have stated that The Fabled Gullerback is not slowable. He is mostly slowable. You just can't use a magic based slow. Disease based slow is the way to go with him. I think rogues may have a poison based slow. That would most likely stick as well.
Did him 5 times today, got one for us all. 63 bst, 63 cleric, 62 mag, 62 enc, 58 druid and 57 war..
Not slowable, only got mala to stick, but nuke and dots seems to work fine on him. And he goes enrage at 10% so watch out at the last 10% else easy enough
A little Southwest of the Giant Fortress, at the deep pit you can see on the map. Spawnrate is very fast, I got 3 fableds, 2 regulars and 2 Azdalins within 40 minutes. Very easy to dress up an entire group with some nice shoulders within 1 hour.
Him not being slowable is a ***** though, he is a stretch for my gimp 1260 AC, 6k hp buffed Beastlord tanking, even with a Druid and Cleric healing. Seems like dots and nukes work fine though.
He also summons!! Double and triple hits for 300-500. I have soloed the regular Gullerback since i went to BW as a young bard at lev 52. I used to chant kite him while charming mobs to add some extra damage to him. Tried the same thing this time on him. I am lev 67 bard and he conned Dk Blue. Any charmed mob i got ,and i looked for wurms, was killed by this bad boy in less than 10 seconds. I dotted for 576 a tick and only got him down to 75%. I had about 5k hp on me and 1400ac and all i can say is TG for fading memories cause he handed me my butt on a platter:) He cannot be slowed or snared...all other dots held on him( disease, fire, cold and poison).
Did him today to replace my 4 year old Crafted Pauldrons hehehee. 67 Enchanter, 61 Cleric, 61 Shaman and 61 Warrior.
Not sure of what the enchanter was casting but the shaman (my wife) had no problem hitting him with Bane of Nife (was able to cast it 5 times) and said Cloud of Grummus was "mostly successful" for a slow.
We were by the ruins between the nest and the pit. Enchanter tracked him hehehe.
