The Task Master will spawn just at the entrance to the big room. You'll want to fight this guy inside that room, because just to the south of that spawn is where the first 3 delve guards will pop. The other six pop at either end of the center room, going north to south.

Total time for my run was about 2 1/2 hours
Thanks Dev, this was very helpful. However, I didn't pay attention to the "... just to the south of that ..." part.
Group composition: 70 BST (17k HPs, 2100ac, 2150atk with only Galla and self buffs in mostly Elab gear with some /baz weaps, 1000 AAs) 70 CLR merc 69 BST (Slightly lower stats than 70, approx. same # of AAs) 68 WAR merc (lower BST leveled during run)
I cannot stress how useful slow is in here, especially in our case with redundant slows for the bigger pulls of 3-4 mobs. As we zoned in I was conning the light blue and green drakes flapping happily about, scoffed and estimated we'd be done in 45mins. It took us just over 2hrs to complete. Task Master(TM) spawns at entrance of the northmost room in the instance, accompanied by two gobbies. In our run we had two champions, but I'd imagine they can be any of the classes you'll encounter before the TM. This could be very unfortunate if you get two cleric adds with the TM--who has a boatload of HPs, 150k-155k by my parse and was doing just under 200DPS to our WAR merc after slow (high of 800, 350 most often). The "a Delve guard" which you need to kill for the step after TM can also be random classes, with no way to tell what class they are before pull. To reiterate, follow Dev's directions and don't just fight the TM *in* the room he's at the entrance to, but pull him slightly farther north away from the hallway you're standing in to look at him. I have a feeling Sony positioned him like this on purpose to wipe groups.
Scenario: TM (yellow to 70) + 2 Delve champions (these mobs can apparently be killed *BEFORE* the Task Master spawns, thus eliminating them from the equation [credit to Coldfyre's post]) Killed TM, 2 champions still alive 3 Delve guards (one of which is a cleric, which could have been devastating--without having spell effects on and quickly identifying and target swapping to interrupt--the CH he was casting) spawn right on top of us 1 miscellaneous mob paths into us
It turned into a 5min battle, using both of our Paragons to keep clerics mana going and take some of the edge off all the mobs beating the warrior up.
All in all, worth the 2hrs to get +10stats and 2AAs for our trouble. =) Hope this information helps anyone else who runs this.
I did this last night, and I couldnt find any info on it, so I am adding some for everyone. The zone looks like normal TD, but the mobs hit harder, around 650. I suggest some form of crowd control, at times, you will pull 4 goblins or more. You can invis past mobs, and although some people would suggest against it, I would do it. Work your way due north. The Task Master is in the big room at the end. I would try to get there before he spawns and kill the 2 mobs hiding just inside the doorway. When we got there, there was him, as well as, a cleric and sneak with their backs to the walls so you can not see them. Try to get there and kill them b4 he spawns so they will not be adds. If you have made it that far and he is not up (before you reach the back zoneline), then kill a few more goblins until he spawns. He hit for around 1k, and had a decent amount of life. Once he is dead loot the letter, and 9 goblin guards will spawn, all blue to me at 67. They spawn in sets of three, and if you have repops, there will be more mobs. You have to kill all 9 of them, and leave the zone, although I think you can gate out, etc, because we died and it showed the last stage complete. We were able to pacify some (although we learned this a bit late), and not having a form of CC, we root pulled some of the goblins. Hope this helps
