The Firewatcher says, 'To beckon the Gatekeeper we must tempt him with bits of Doomfire. I have seen fragments of it leak through the cracks of the portal. It is here, in this place. Look around! Find the four bits and bring them to me. Ha ha! Hurry, hurry Human. I cannot wait!'

When you enter from Sol B hug your right wall until you are in (essentially) Northernmost point. He is North of Erpar and Kushara.

don't bother with this guy - we never even found him and it didn't matter. We pulled all of Culthor's guardians, killed them, they seemed to nearly instantly repop or have a quick repop time. We rushed Culthor, fight took about 5 mins or so. Somehow, lava beetles along with more guardians came to the fight, maybe he summoned them - not sure. One cleric got summoned outside of the room, they ran back in, that might have been where the agro came from.
Anyways, what i'm trying to say is you don't have to collect any quest pieces to open some gate to get to Culthor; just pull his guardians, kill them and rush Culthor, kill, loot ash, get out. Chest spawned but had crap loots for our level. Have a nice day!

I'm guessing you have to be Rogue only to turn in the items for this quest. I spent sometime in Sol C and had the items on me, but when I turned them in he told me "Hmph, you have no need to assist one such as I."
