After reading all these posts was sure I would have to gate my level 62 Druid - these were easiest mob in zone for me - Bonds of Tuanare, Root, dot dot, Wildfire and kite - never touched me and used 40% of mana per kill. Dropped N Gilmore 450 and Rune of Concussion
I been working these guys for the last week with my cleric/Warrior team. I can easy pull singles with the warrior, and if I happen to get an add, the cleric root-rot can take it out.
What I been doing is working my 2hb skill, thats sickly low, first attacking with my slow hammer until it procs at least 2 times, then switch to my dps set-up. The cleric heals, and handles adds only usally. With a now 59 warrior and 64 cleric, i can clear the camp, take the named, and sill have time to med the cleric to full.
Going to sit on this camp when my normal group mates arent on. Most toons that are in zone are just running through now heading to raids or trials, so usually I get a nice shammy to run-by buff.
So far, the quest item has been the rare item, but I had to creat a couple of mules for the 2 neck pieces, given alot away to guildies as well, espically the ramdom grouping mates that are on. Total of 10 (6 mana regen ones) have dropped for me, but only 2 essances, lol
I have been soloing these guys with my bard since lvl 50. He is now 62, has 34 AA and is epiced. I have MQ many maces and necklaces for guildies and other people in zone who needed. Once you get the hang of the camp and know what soul to pull in what way, it is easy and great exp. Word of caution, do not mess with Tumia, the named soul, she summons and will drive your **** into the ground rather painfully. If you need more info on these let me know and will do my best to help.
I just started this camp with my 60 bst. Trying for the Mace of Focused Flame quest pieces. Saw Tumia up and decided to give her a whack. Got her down to 12 then she whacked me. The summoning thing was a surprise. I had backed off to self-heal and I got summoned. That was when I knew I was in trouble.
With a two minute delay in the casting of healing pots it makes it a difficult fight. Will try it again when my veteran rewards repop tonight. See if pocket cleric can keep me alive.
Spectral Essence from restless souls been there 4 days 4 hours a day and not one droped not even a Talisman of the Spiritseer or Shell Inlaid Collar did they cease dropping or what ?
#REDACTED,
Posted:Oct 10 2004 at 11:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm fed up with all the high level players who come and farm these guys, hogging the whole camp. Any time the camp is taken, it's probably by someone red to my 56th level necro, who really is getting on the high end of finding these mobs worth hunting.
That may be your problem, but when I am in the karanas killing spiders, it is because i am boosting, or trying to, my tailoring. that is to gain XP as well (or trade skills). As for the hill giants in Rathe, they are needed for druid epic. As a druid, I slaughtered probably a hundred over a couple of weeks trying to get my epic mob to pop. If you have a big problem with that, tell Sony (lot of good that will do) and complain that they are sending the high level characters into lower level zones. There are the a$$es you describe, of course (too many in game), but a lot of the hi levels I see in lower zones are there not to inconvienience the lower levels, but because they have to be.
I am a 58th lvl magician. I've tried several times to solo one of these, using BO4, Cadeau of Flame, GVoc Earth fully buffed. Every single time, I've had to gate out, because these things radically out-damage my pet heals.
I've got decent gear, nothing fabulous. I can do the other yard trash mobs in this zone fairly easily, so long as nothing adds. But the Lost Souls have so far proven impossible. Any tips???
Not really. I am soloing them successfully as a 61 mage, for decent AA XP. It takes about half my 61 pet's hp, and half my mana. Pull with scars, sic pet and hope he gets of a stun to take aggro, nuke with firebolt of tallon as appropriate.
A few are light blue at 65 hoped necro be able to DC but no luck so far, they break thrall of bones really fast which I always found to be much more reliable on lower level stuff than words of terris, but guess someone can test that.
I tried using our 70% slow with 65 warrior pet but it kinda sucks only have to heal pet once or twice a fight with 1k heal, but its way faster to use rogue and just kite on the big patch of flat area right next to ruins, cleared the camp all night yesterday got 1 Essence to drop, and a couple of rings and an 20 hp aug from named.
Could a necromancer solo these little morsels? They may be too high for a DC assault, but slowing them and sending pet with a chain heal on it..? Just wondering, cause hell we can solo most undead, and I was wondering if I could add these to the list.
I was wary of these when hunting the nearby animals in my late forties, but at 51 they can be hunted safely, as long as you're careful. Remember that they're immune to fear, so do something else useful with that slot, perhaps mez for if Darkness gets resisted...they hit VERY hard, so rooting them and backing up isn't a fast enough solution.
As a necro, you simply avoid getting hit in the first place. I pull with Cascading Darkness (the slow cast time is irrelevent for pulling), then cast Splurt, Ignite Blood, Bond of Death (backing up as necessary), then sic pet (with taunt off) and keep ahead of it until it dies.
I know this is the most common queston on these boards but i was just wondering if any shaman around 58 have tried solo'n this mob, with kei and a 255 wis i feel i can do some damage but i just worry about unrootable and my pet bein such a whimp. Also anyone know where they spawn?? Thanks
At 58 with no Kei and 232 wis I was able to solo these guys easily. Root -> Bane of nife, epic, put bane on around 45percent. As stated before all can be single pulled apart from two of them
I have been duoing these with my 55 warrior lately and a 58 shaman definitely should have no problem with these. They are rootable, but they are all single pulls with the exception of the two in the back left of the spawn area as you approach from the wayfarer camp. So other than that one double pull you shouldn't need root too much unless you have resist problems.
Some of them can be very resistant, so be ready. I have had as many as 6 malosini resists in a row after trying slow two times. That means slow resist, slow resist, malosini resist (x6), malosini sticks, and finally slow sticks. You'll have to make sure dog dog is fully buffed for the really resistant mobs as they can kill your pet fairly quickly.
It isn't an overly tough camp but it does offer some excitement from time to time. One nice thing is that the roaming animal mobs are dubious now so you don't have to worry about adds when you are forced to run around a bit trying to get mobs under control.
I was able to take these 2 at a time with my BST. Just kite the second one if you are not sure. Your warder can solo one if it's slowed as well. Gave me 2 ticks of AA a kill as well as around 4-5 pp. And with the possibility of getting a talisman or collar I'd say this is a good camp if you find it not taken. They are also half light blue and half dark blue. FYI
If you go North from the camp, Just across the water on the other side you will see a fallen Pillar/column looking thing next to water.. Just NW of that you will see several pillar/column looking things (Standing). In and aroud them is where they spawn. The two to the back (NW) are close enough to each other where if you pull one the other will come. No big deal if two come.. CC pretty easy with a root-snarer/mezzer. All others are single pulls. I pull to the north side just behind the square platform. Absolutely no wanderers run through that area. If you pull there watch the south side of the camp as others may not see you and start pulling from that side. Lots of kiters there usually (Atleast on CT server). While I am waiting for respawn, i pull from the water, South side of camp and ZI area provided they are not camped. Got the FT1 neck recently off a turtle. Was not expecting to see it drop off that. Always figured it would drop off a named. Was so freaking happy. Very nice upgade for my Soulmate Cleric. Apparently it drops off several mobs.
The drop rate on these things is insane not to mention the competition when a whole group of people comes to try and get some essences, I've killed atleast 900 of these things and I havent had a single essence (was using a 63 bard so took 1-4 min a kill dependent on my mana and adds) the only thing ive ever had these things drop is platinum and of course lots and lots of research.
