My Paladin and a Druid friend of mine both participated in a Dain kill, which of course means - YEAH YOU GUESSED IT - they are KOS.
I have my cleric ready to trigger the 8th shawl run. I was wondering what faction the Avatar of Below is on. IS it Dain faction, or just coldain?
If they KOS folks are not KOS to the avatar I can just trigger the shawl run several times and let them do the final turn in for the 8th shawl.
Anyone have any info on this ?

I completed my 8th shawl. I love it. The shawl walk (#8) is easy with 3 groups of 55+.
Now I want to take this guy down. I wonder if it is possible? Sure, he's lvl 68 or so. Sure, whoever spawns him will have to redo the armor for the 8th shawl quest. It's a challange, and so far, no one on any server has taken down Brell. He probably has no loot, but he is carrying an axe or a pick in this picture....

I was in a guild <Promethian Order> that killed this guy in 2002/2003ish. He dropped the Snowchipper.

Was wondering if he despawns after someone completes the quest.
Yes. He despawns immediately after you hand him your 7th shawl.
