Spawn Info:
Camp the area between the ridge by the inn and orc camp (ridge is at 3050, -1300 and runs pretty much east and west) and the mountainside dividing the zone. I patrolled an area from 3000, -1600 to the wall at 3400, -350 for the northern camp border and used the mountainside for the southern border. Kill EVERY NON-ORC mob that dares to pop in the camp zone. I saw every kind.. pumas, spiders, all undeads, giants, bugs, etc... kept killing those and leaving the orcs alone. This method worked very well as the below timeline will illustrate my 2 hour camp: Game times of spawns were: 8am, 9am, 1pm, 5pm, 7pm, 12am, 2am, 5am, 7am, 10am, 11am, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm(got the drop on this one).

i killed the guy 12 times now still no drop. getting very sad

Killed the Takish Ghoul 4 times in 1 hour. He spawned during both day and night times. I repeatedly killed all trash on the west and north side of the lake (except for the orcs). See screenshot for kill/spawn locations that I got. I had Bard Speed and Tracking so was able to kill the named as soon as it spawned. It dropped on the 4th kill for me.

Im on Phinny progression server trying to get the drops for Phylactery...
I went to SRo and tried killing everything on the desert side. I was able to get it to spawn about 12-15 times in a few days, but not consistently. While I was there spinning my wheels I noticed on track that he was spawning a bunch of times for a guy on the Oasis side of the zone (sorry dont remember his name). When he ooc'd he finally got the drop, I asked him how he was getting it to spawn so much.

Dropped this guy last night close to where Giants spawn. Was blue to a level 52 druid but for soem reason no xp was awarded for his kill. Dropped a couple of plat and thats was it.
He is immune to snare and root and tries to run at less than 20%.

He surprised me in the middle of South Ro today, my level 10 merc kept him busy (briefly) and I ran. He didn't chase me all the way to Innothule zoneline, whereas the original zombie aggroed did.
I've seen him up a lot since teh revamp, often 2 at a time on track. One also dropped the anchor for me (finally).

I just killed this guy in Oasis today. He seems to be on the spider/ SG cycle.

one run of 14 hours all in south ro, best to clear the zone at night it seems. Being a chanter i was pullin 4 and aeing as much as i could. i got 1 ancient cyclops to spawn, two terrorantulas and a couple other named. 8 Ghouls spawned got it on the last one obviously. this camp was terribly boring and it was by far the hardest part of the phylactery.

The spawn rate for this Ghoul in South Ro has gone up substantially in the last month (Oct 2005). I spent several full EQ days and nights there before the change and I saw him once. These last couple of days I have seen him between two and five times in an EQ night (about 7pm-4am). I killed him maybe a dozen times before I got a spiritual anchor. This is a positive change, as I think he was too rare considering the reward for the quest.
was Pling my 17 Rogue in South Ro today with my 54 Cleric, You all sure this guy is only 40 ..he was Dark Blue to the Cleric who uses Soulstripper, never even scratched him

Killed him seven times now still no anchor. Allso killed AC three time and the big spider seven. Got a little over 15 stack for tarantula silk. Ok now ya get the idea how bad this camp is? Why doesnt this guy drop anything :( after caping him for this long you know what a let down it is to see he has nothing. Good job EQ. At least if I had to collect 20 items off him I could see some progress. Who know how many times I will have to kill him. How many more hours 1? 100? 1000? Years?

I was playing my level 14 Troll Shaman and couldnt kill this mob of course but there were tons of mobs around..I only killed one ghoul near the north end of Oasis of Marr at the Orc Highway and this Takish-Hiz Ghoul thingy spawned right next to the zone line to North Ro at the end of the orc highway. There were only 4 people in the zone all around my level and tons of mobs left.
Camped ALL of the north part of Oasis for 4 hours this morning...got him to spawn 3 times...lucky for me I can sense dead so the roaming aspect dont bug me as much...this is the 3rd 4 hour stretch I have camped the area...combined spawning him at least 10 times...still no Spiritual Anchor..
It bad enough that he is a pain in the butt to spawn...but to make the quest item a rare drop....reminds me why I take month at a time Breaks from EQ....sigh

I can state unequivocally that he can spawn in daytime hours in sro. He popped at 2pm and 3pm on seperate occasions. The 3pm one finally dropped the anchor.

Well After a long and Hard 6hrs Camp of mass killing everything and not one spawn. I went to POK and offered 50kp to get loot rights. with in 10 mins i had atleast 4 people in SRO and another 4 in Oasis. about 2 hrs later it died off and most left. Went back to PoK OOCed again. got about 6 peaople to start and with in 30 mins pop and killed in Oasis with no Anchor. then soon as i looted that empty corpse. POP again killed it myself Looted Anchor YAY. hit track on emore time and POP again i was like no way is this hapening. Killed it and ill be damned another Anchor. Logged on Friends Necro got him there in time to loot ( only 6 min corpse).

I'd like to confirm that I killed everyone mob on the desert side of oasis from the Nro zoneline to the gypsy camp. After about 45 minutes I got him to spawn.
It was at night, not sure what time exact when he spawn but it was 7pm when I started ae'ing.
Maybe I got lucky, but this technique seems to work if anyone else wants to tright it.
He droped the spiritual anchor first go

to get the ghoul of takish to pop you have to start this at 4:20am . kill 2 spiders, run to tower kill a zombie loot zombie skin take to venders in desert area sell to them take cash run it to Ocullus, he will take it and give you a orc skin condom, it should be about 4:40am , run back to tower ghoul of takish should be there , equip orc skin condom and proceed to skull *** a ghoul of takish..... some peeps kill me with all these theories , all i can see is this guy pops when he wants how he wants whenever he wants.
*screams* Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

This spawn is horrible..
First off, random and rare chance of spawning. That sucks.
Secondly, he is a roamer... that sucks even more :( I would love a nice static 20 min PHer spawn right about now
but ARG!! for how rare it is to even see him.. He should be droping the flower every time..
I have found and succeed the other 5 combines.. this is the last one I need for Phylactery and I'm begining to fear it may never happen

I have been camping this guy for almost 5 days and he still has not spawned. Killed everything at everytime of the day. Even managed to spawn Ancient, but not this guy. What gives?
Ok this guy sux. Spent 8 hrs killing every mob with a 65th druid, 65th Mage,and 65th Ranger and were killing everything almost as fast as it spawned. Managed to get the Ac to spawn twice to one spawn of the Ghoul.
Considering the final combine the spirit anchor is used for is failable and the Ghoul doenst drop it everytime this has got to rank as one of the worst quest mobs I have come across to date.
I just want to thank Sony for making this game tougher than it has to be.

Got my anchor a few days ago... so not broken just a pain in the ***... i just offered 50k to the first person to find me one... 11 hrs later i had my anchor.
some speculation is true, some is false... . this mob CAN and WILL spawn during the day. it also can spawn back to back almost instantly or it can go for a span of many many hours without a pop ...

I was there in the zone today hunting the Ancient Cyclops. Says he is 45 but he conned high blue to a 43. I did kill him at night and I had been killng the: Mummy, sand mummy, and PH at the tower for the AC. I would suggest being either a Melee or high level to kill him. He did not have that much damage output but my EQ Companion said I had done near 7000 damage to him by the time I killed him. Dropped nothing.
