61 SK and 65 Warrior spent all day camped for named. We kept killing mobs on entrance way in to named and on tunnels both sides. this seemed to spawn mobs and named quicker. Named spawned 4 times - each time dropped cloak. fifth time dropped wand. took three hours and i went up one lvl.

Have been camping the wand for some days and finally got the wand. One of the hardest part is that when the wand is camped by others sometimes a whole quild will take turns for days getting wands for everyone.

Seems you can only cast on yourself as I could not shrink my merch cleric, not sure if you can shrink your pets.

A level 69 monk can solo the area well. Just watch out for the Elder ones as 3 can tear you up fast at level 69.

Well i have to say that you really need to want this item badly if youre going to go camp it!! Ive read post about peoples lucky enough to get it on first spawn but most peoples have to test their patience very badly before getting their hands on one of these wand .... and of course im one of them =(

3 days of camping, endless spawns without the nameds ... and when he finally does drops nothing else than this cloak!! Being one stubborn person i finally got it after almost 22 hours total

80 Chanter, soloed there, with 76 pet, pet easily ate this mob, I did slow, but didnt need to. Got there he was up killed, dropped wand. Went back some time later with my cleric 76, he was up, did not drop wand, but he did 2 spawns later, maybe 1hour total time there this time. Pet soloed again easily, just for fun didnt slow this time haha.

I've been camping this guy on and off for about 3-4 days or so, sometimes few hours at a time, sometimes maybe 1 or 2 spawns. This camp was unforgiveable to me.

First off, it either spawns a regular mob, any kind thats around the area, and is rare spawn itself. I have seen it spawn up back to back at times and give me nothing but the cloak, god i hate that cloak.

What is did was tuck up in the corner and have the gaurd to named/ph's left aggro me and also pull named/ph, only pulling the 2, made it easy camp for me.

I was hoping he might hold the wand like some mobs do, but he does not, he never weilds the wand or any items for that matter, so good luck people, very nice clicky.

This is behind the three in the tunnel, in front of our main goal. It is to the left of the large pillar extending up into the ceiling. This spot is relatively safe. Wandering a few feet either way will aggro a mob either in front of you, or behind you. Play smart, and play safe.

The Map and Getting There
  • http://www.mapfiend.net/map/thedeep
  • Take the Invisible Bridge, go south until the first right, enter the tunnel. Follow the tunnel until you can go North, all the way up. Turn Left. Follow the top path until there aren't any other turns or options on the way to Koxiux the Imperceptible.

    Mobs

Warning: These mobs are not mezz'able, nor are they charm'able.

In general, I found myself being hit for between 10 and 168 hit points. My Armor Class is 858 without buffs.

"a thought horror" is an enchanter that will happily cast Howl of Tashania, Discordant Mind, Immobilize, Invoke Fear, with a lower chance of dispell. Luckily, as all enchanters do, this mob has a low HP.

"a thought horror evoker" is a wizard and will cast the general line of wizard spells - fire nukes, ice nukes, magic nukes, the occassional root, and a rare dispell.

"a horror gaurd" is your standard melee mob, unable to cast with a noticably higher HP than the caster mobs you will encounter.

"a thought horror spiriter" is a necromancer that seems to favor "root" with an infrequent "ignite bones", "chilling embrace", "asystole" or "incinerate bones". He's not very quick to summon a pet, like the thought horror, so I've never given him a chance to do it.

Koxiux is a wizard, and spawns in front of the blueish rock like in the screenshot, at location neg 284, pos 2369. Any of the other mob types listed above can be placeholders.

Almost any mob in this dungeon can spawn as a see invis mob randomly. To get to this camp without fighting you will either have to have some way to ditch agro or to Pacify or be very lucky. If not, be prepared to fight your way through some spots. Con everything and plan accordingly. Start in fully buffed and with your battle spell set memmed. You really probably want to avoid the elder thought horrors that are south of the hallway leading to Koxiux. They are much higher level than the trash around them and hit much harder. When coming to camp the wand, come from the North.

15 minutes or very close is the respawn timer for these mobs.

    Nothing here summons.

Koxiux is immune to Snare/Root spells but trash mobs are not. Everything is stunnable.

Koxiux is immune to Pacify spells but trash mobs are not.

I've soloed this camp with a 60 Paladin. Using invis potions, Pacify and fighting when needed to get to the camp. Pacifying to break camps, stopping runners with chain stuns and rooting. Potions make it easier but shouldn't be necessary.

The enchanter mobs haste everyone around them. Pulling with Dispell isn't a bad idea here. The necromancer mobs will heal mobs near them, which can get annoying.

Umm, I think everyone failed to mention that the mobs leading to it hit for around 500 hp. The posts make it sound like you can just go in there and kill it, so wasn't too happy when my 65 necro came in there and got mauled. Well equipped too =(

How hard they hit will be different for everyone depending on ac and shielding.
You do have to figure, that the back areas that he is found in, was considered somewhat higher end when the level cap was 65, and ac maxxed around 1500ish.
At level 70 , and then 75, it just gets incredibly easy. I dont think one would hit for much over 150 with 4k+ ac and level 75.

Had a 69 Shaman and 58 Bard going to this guy. Those elder horror things hurt, especially 2 of them. They enrage at 10% HP. Random mobs see invis through the caves. Sometimes you will get a part of the tunnel where you can skip a few lines of mobs, sometimes each line will have a see invis. Just take it slow, especially when you get to the elders. I dunno many classes with 4K+ AC (3?). I know my 72 Necro has no where near that;) Neither does my 58 bard or the 69 shaman lol

Btw, all these mobs run when low HP cept the elders, so you better have a way to snare cause if one gets away to another pack it's likely to get healed and keep on running into more and more packs of mobs. Found this out the hard way.

ok, well, I finally gave up on getting the wand from this guy. killed 30 PH's, and he finally spawned... and he dropped the robe. came back a while later, killed 10 PH's, and no sign of him. I think I'll stick with potions, thank you.

EDIT: a guild member got one, linked it, and after feeling bad about it I went back to the camp the next day and tried for it again. after 12 straight hours, I finally got the wand.. I never want to see koxiux again, but im glad I finally got it.
