Gribnor the Small is on about a 50 minute respawn timer. His guards ("Gribnor`s Thug") respawn with him, but seem to take longer to spawn if you kill them and leave Gribnor be. I did not witness the guards respawning without Gribnor at all, personally.
how come no one every thinks to put important info in their posts? i don't care how you killed him, that you killed him or how he wiped you out, i only want ot know where he is-- loc would be appreciated and possibly directions to his "house"

finally found him thanks to my druid-- 1299.92, -1644.93, -64.37 -- in the small tower in the extreme north center of the zone across the moat and up the stairs -- now what was so darned hard about that???

1: illusion: Troll. Cast it on yourself, Rune yourself too. 2: Go up to him and his guards, you'll be dubious so no aggro. 3: Charm a guard and set it on Gribnor, don't bother with haste its waste of nuking time. 4: Slow them while they bash you. 5: Nuke Grib while they bash you. 6: When dead hail frog and gate out.
Additional info: Bind at zone in incase things get messy. If you have mana flare from dodh arc cast in on yourself for extra dps. Don't forget to use eldrich rune if you have it. His guards are Un-Mezzable. Get Conviction, Wunshi and Brell's Brawnly Bulwark before going for extra HPs.
First off, none of them are slowable... so you won't be slowing anything in any manner whatsoever. They are also unmezzable and immune to any run speed changes, so I would wonder if they are even charmable. My strategy was actually no strategy at all. I just run up into the room in the tower, picked a target, started nuking non stop till it died, move to next.... rinse repeat. Pretty soon I had 80% life left and 3 dead corpses at my feet. Self buffs and runes of course. Max def aa w/ around 10k self buffed was cake. Interrupts were annoying but just deal w/ it.
I died three times soloing this guy before I finally killed him. Using the Blanket of Forgetfulness method did not work for me. They blinked... and then beat the snot out of me. In order to get close enough to charm one of the thugs you have to get close enough to agro them all, so you better not have any bad luck like I did(and have charm immediately break on 1st Thug), because if you do, you're pretty much screwed.
Still, the method of charming one Thug, letting it die, then charming the other Thug + hasting + slowing + nuking to kill Gribnor DID work... you just have to pray the charms hold or that you can get gate off while they're eating away at your runes... cuz AE mem blur won't do squat and either will running(summons). So get lucky or get some rezzes!
As mentioned earlier, his thugs are charmable, I simply pulled with charm, let it die, charm the other and fight. G the small WAS slowable, and then I simply switched between casting rune and nuke, and never took any damage at all. Oh, and he doesn't run, so no need for snare
Does this guy drop any loot at all? Trying to get together a group of people to kill him, if I can entice them with promises of loot I figure it will be easier. :)
It's pretty easy to get Gribnor solo. Buff up with both runes (assuming you are 61+), tash pull Gribnor to Neriak Commons zone. (assuming you are agnostic and are in DE illusion, or as I am, innate DE). Turn around near the zone, and get them to just the zone line before zoning over. Invis, and zone right back. You'll see Gribnor usually heading back just past the Cleric Guild building, and can bring him back to zone line solo.
I did this first solo, didn't have my 67 druid logged in yet, as I was just seeing if he was easy to get solo. I tried to kill him, got him to 50%-ish before I was getting low on health. He interrupted a couple of rune casts. I zoned at 5% with Ignite Blood on me. It barely barely finished me off, My kingdom for a bandage!
Went back, now with druid invised just inside the zone, and couldn't find him! Tracked him down with druid in the water outside the back Wizard house. He never made it back to spawn, nice pathing... Well, this made things even easier. Got him to zone, partially slowed him, started to nuke him down. Druid eventually caught aggro, and he was down in a couple mins. His regen is fairly substantial.
I had pot9 and kazad on, replenishment, and DS, then self-buffs. Scryer's is a nice spell for him as he does have mana. Made mana a non issue for me. Was around 4.5k buffed, and easily took his damage with druid healing with NI. Druid is a bit better geared, and was around 5.5k, and took the damage better.
Here is a strategy that me (65 necro) and my wife (65 enchanter) used to pull and kill this guy. This would be just as easy with 65 shadowknight in my place I would think.
First of all let me say I am an average equipped 65 necro without EP access. I did have the forsight to get virtue before hand which helped alot. With virtue I have about 4k hp. I had my wife give me VoQ as I didn't want to loose any more hp from SoS than what I was already getting beat for. His max hit on me was 270 and he life tapped me quite a few times I think for around 500 each time. I do have a ID4 belt on to make my life taps hit for more but sadly got no crits or crit heals during the whole fight which probly only lasted 2 or 3 minutes.
First I created 65 warrior pet and buffed him up, although 63 rogue pet would have been better since my pet didn't even take one hit and was behind him the whole time. Then suspend the big pet and make the level 49 warrior pet. Then I feigned death in the hall leading up to Gribnor and send in level 49 pet. When pet had gotten his attention I hit pet hold to bring back Gribnor by himself, thats right his guards won't help if you are FD and send in 49 pet. My wife was waiting down the first steps and as soon as Gribnor got back to me she sent her pet in. My 49 pet didn't actually die like I thought so I had to make him go away and then unsuspend my big pet. I life tap tanked him while my wife blasted and the pets beat him down. My wifes pet died when I got pushed down the steps a bit but other than that it went smoothly.
We were just testing this out really and could have been better prepared than we were so I'd think it would be doable by a chanter and necro or sk a few levels lower than us. Some mage summoned pet weapons and more buffs would have made the fight alot easier although it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be.
Did this today with an average-equipped 62nd paladin (with damage mitigation 3, innate defense 1, and combat stability 1) and 63rd chanter (me). First, I pulled Gribnor with Tash, his thugs followed me to the zone line where the pally and I killed them (Gribnor didn't come that time). Then I went back and pulled Gribnor with Tash again, this time he followed me to the zone line where the pally and I (and my chanty pet) killed him. Some notes:
1. He summons (although he didn't summon me after Tash on my way back to the zone line) 2. Slow was mostly successful (I pulled with tash) 3. Strangle and Dementia landed for full damage with no resists 4. At the end, the paladin was dead, I had 35% hp, and my pet had 20% hp when Gribnor died. (We didn't have full mana when we started, the paladin did use lay hands, and I threw Feedback).
65 ench did him solo at his spawn point. Collaborate or illusion ogre(shrink needed). Charm guard. Let guard die. AoE mem blur. (Blanket of Forgetfulness) Tash last guard. AoE mem blur. (Blanket of Forgetfulness) CoD guard. Haste pet. Tash and slow shortie. Nuke hard.
Charm then AE membluring worked very well for single pulling the bodyguards.
I tried it initially with a group of 4 with no tank, and we all died.
Went back, single pulled one bodyguard, killed it. Then charmed the remaining bodyguard for killing Gribnor. We still died, but I was able to first hail the spirit mob thingy and get the last sword piece.
Soloed him on Xev, 20 mins ago (8:00am cst) with my 65 shadowknight, magelo below if your looking for a gear level.
Got lucky on the pull and the gaurds wandered off and he stuck around. The green guy that strolls around didn't agro the entire time. (I killed him right down the hall from his spawn point)
His hp's aren't too high, 9k ht did 40~50%, Lifetaps were never resisted. Only buffs I had on were Virtue, Self buffs, Avatar, Kei, and haste (Nalot's haste)
Took about 10 mins to kill, Did burn my Leech curse disc and my ht disc (duh). Few crit life taps and I was able to keep myself around 70~75%
Well, here's how I did it, me 2 boxing a 65 cleric / chanter, and the wife 2 boxing a 65 pally / druid...I honestly feel this could be done with just a clerc and tank if done this way. Parked the Pally, Cleric, Druid at the zoneline to Neriak Commons. Put both chanter runes on, then ran to Gribnor's house. Went as far back down the hall as I could, and cast Tash on him... Ran all the way back to the Commons zone, and took no damage what-so-ever. Just befor the zone, I turned and saw that only the 2 guards were there, not Gribnor, nor any other zone trash (I'll add that the chanter was in DE form, so not KoS)...Pally engaged guards, I zoned for good measure. Guards hit like wimps, so Gribnor is the only damage dealer really. Cleric regen was more then enough to keep the pally going till the guards were dead. Once they dead, ran the crew to Gribnor's house. Pally engaged, tash'd with the chanter (only spell I ever got to stick by the way) and healed with the cleric. Druid did no healing, and mana was ok on the cleric. Druid did manage to stick all her DoT's, but still took a good while to kill Grib. Only thing the chanter did was mez the greenie roamer.
ok heres how i did it.. took me (65) chanter (2)65 cleric a 65 pally and 65 rogue 65 warrior invised to room .pally on Gribnor warrior and rogue on thugs . killed thugs fast then all on Gribnor went down fast :) np just have real good friends that like killing darkies
Single pulling Gribnor is easy, even for an enchanter. Here's how:
First, do the red wine faction with Lokar in the library and get all the factions maxed out. You will have to run by many guards and it's best to be on good terms with as many as you possibly can.
The next thing you need to to is get your faction up with the cleric guild at the front of the zone. Illusion DE and cast Collaboration on the guard circling near the entrance. This won't garuntee that they won't attack you, but it will help.
Then go to the place where Gribnor is. There is a chapel like area to the left just as you enter the building. Go in there and buff up (rune and MR are required!). There is a caster DE guard walking around in the building and he will make a stop in this chapel area. When he does, race up to the hallway where Gribnor is. Get as close as you need to Gribnor and dispell him. Run back to the entrance as fast as you can (make sure to have SoW or SoE cast on you before entering Neriak). When at the entrance, wait for the three trolls to catch up with you before zoning out of 3rd Gate.
Once you're out of 3rd Gate, invis up and zone back in. Run as fast as possible all the way through Neriak into the city area surrounded by high walls. As you run in, if you follow the right wall, there will be an opening that leads to the top of the walls. Get to the top area and wait for Gribnor and his thugs to pass through the village. While you're waiting, recast DE illusion and make sure rune is still strong. When Gribnor passes below you, he should at some point separate from his thugs enough for a pull. When he does, tash him and run as far away from him as you can get. Make sure you can't see him and invis. When you do see him, run around him til you can get a clear shot at the entrance to the city area. When you're sure he can't get to you, run like crazy to the zone, jumping off of the wall.
When you get to the zone, un-invis and wait for Gribnor to come running to you and your group... all alone ;o)
I've done this three times now, practice it before doing it for real. It's a lot of steps and it takes a bit to get the hang of, but it's a great way to single pull Gribnor.
Just did this fight you can single pull Gibnor the small. He hit our 65 war tank for about 150 average while he was /disc. Is Immune to slow, as a 65th lvl enchanter my 1100 nuke hit twice once for 158 once for 58. I could not land cripple or strangle. Good luck =)
He casts Blood of Hate(Lv63 SK spell), quads, flurrys, and enraged. Fun little fight(65 enc, 65 sk, 65 cle). Our SK was able to single pull him down to the bridge where we took his lunch money and sent him packin.
