Great day!
Been camping this guy to make some cash, been here 2 hours no spawn, got Kylog items tho, the legs and Bp about 5k of stuff for 5 min of work, preaty sweat, hopefully i get soulscream belt tonight, doesnt look like it though
Some good information here on the Shopkeeper, thought I'd add in my own experience.
First of all, our group consisted of myself (65 Warrior), a 59 Cleric and a 60 Enchanter. We fought through the building to the top room (keep going up the stairs) and set up camp there. Nothing spawns in this room, so it is a safe point to pull to. As the spawn times are between 12-15 minutes, you have plenty of time to clear out the entire building by pulling directly to the room. The Rotting Shopkeeper dropped the Belt for us first time he popped, but it is definitely the uncommon drop. He would appear to be an Uncommon Spawn, with maybe a 20% chance of appearing in place of the Placeholder.
The benefit of pulling to the top room as opposed to setting up camp in the Shopkeeper room itself is that it provides ample room to escape if things go bad. Jump out the broken wall, up the ramp, and you're back at the entrance to Veksar. Setting up on the lower floor of the building, you'll have to run up the stairs, aggro between 2 and 3 Harm Touching mobs, then jump out the window. I haven't encountered any trains in Veksar as the camps are well distributed, but if this does happen to you, call the train. I haven't had to do it myself, but when setting up for a long camp, it pays to know your escape options.
Speaking of escape routes, there is another "escape" ramp just west of the 1st room that leads to the Shopkeeper. It also drops you next to the Veksar entry. So it appears you have 2 ways to get out of there. Whether you camp in the Shopkeeper room or at the top of the stairs with the broken wall.
I believe that the Blacksmith is a more rare spawn than the Shopkeeper. Been camping both spawns and have gotten the Shopkeeper about 6 times but have yet to get the Blacksmith once.
One more thing about the Shopkeeper, he also drops the common weapons that his PH's and roommates drop. Even the picture of his shows him with one of this weapons. May want to update his drop info.
Camped this mob for the first time last night. Brought along a full group of friend ranging from 55 to 65. We easily broke this camp with a Pally pacy. The spawn cycle is about 15 minutes. The PH is the revenant and he pops along the backside of the east wall along with 2 other store clerks and shopkeepers.
We went through 4 cycles of the room and the Rotting Shopkeeper finally popped on the 5th cycle. We killed him quickly and he dropped the common Kunzar Deathguard Shield.
That room then makes a good base for pulling in golems and other nearby mobs while you wait for the next cycle to pop.
Good AA xp even for a level 65. All mobs still dark blue. Once you break the room, the rest is very easy.
As a test, a level 63 and level 65 warrior were able to break this room but if KEI fades on your cleric then you'll have a tougher time keeping your mana at sufficient levels.
Update: Came back the next day and he popped in about 6 cycles and dropped a belt! Then in 2 cycles he popped again (dropped another shield). Just expect a 2-3 hour camp for about 2 shots at this guy.
Dropped last night in group, after roll all hell broke loose because the Wizard rolled and won. All in all the belt is worth quite alot and we're all in mid 50's, Without doubt Melees such as myself would really need this item AND USE it, although greed gets the best of us at times we had stipulated it was a NBG group before going in. NBG needs to be sorted out because if I (a pally) rolled and won for a really good INT or Imroved damage IV item the Wizard would have lost his head. Since the win all in the group have blacklisted the Wizard who in previous groups I found to be VERY good. However he has since been kicked out of his guild and nobdy will team with him, I feel bad as he keeps sending me tell that the months of his life he has spent on his Wizard is in ruins. I'd really apreciate any views on this matter other people have and thank you for any comment.
What I guess you don't understand though in the distribution of equipment can be easily rectified by looking up at the loot table on this mob. You're upset with the wizard for rolling on a haste belt. The common drop, a shield, cannot even be used by the non-melees. So using your logic for distributing drops, only the melees would ever get anything at this camp. Why then would anyone else ever want to come here when xp is definately not on par with many very easier (and much more convieniant to reach camps)? Can a warrior come here without a cleric/druid/shaman for healing? They are just as nessasary for the success of the group. And just try inviting one with the message "Want to come to Veksar to be main healer in our group but not get a chance on any of the drops?"
It seems a reoccurring theme in the game that alot of mobs drop items more heavily geared towards one class than another through their entire loot table. But it takes a well balanced group to kill them. If you don't want the other classes rolling, I suggest you make a beastlord and just solo the guy. ;)
Hermiit Mossnakebane 65 bst 144aa Sharkbite Bloodwater 65 enc 60aa bunch of other guys in their 50s.

Let me get this straight, the reason why the wizzy was kicked out of guild because he won in the roll for the belt? Or did he keep winning in each roll you guys keep finding awesome loot from mobs? If so I'll have him kicked out of my guild too. Must have some rolling cheat hehe, good thing hes not on my server.
NBG is ******** anyways man, the NEED for upgrades is in everyones mind. This belt bought that wizard something useful im sure of it. Or it twinked an alt, which in your case sucks but hey thats life in eq. Had he won a roll on a Pally only item, then I could see being mad at him. But the fact is, EQ is a game of drops, and all drops are useful to everyone in the game in some form or another. Yea I woulda been upset, but its hard to find GOOD players like you said he was sometimes. I think nbg is cool if you're hittin multiple named mobs that all drop something of use to everyone in the group, but in this case, it sounds like you guys were just doin the shopkeep and to blackball someone for that is kinda lame, thats like sayin hey come to veksar where the xp isnt great and enjoy our company and enjoy NOT having the chance to score loot...thats my 2cp
All group members should have a fair shot at rolling for an item, especially a valuable item. If they can't use it, then can sell it and use the cash to buy something they CAN use.
NBG is still greed - just your own "Need" in front of someone elses. I can prove it.
Have you ever seen such a roll - where the NBG guy (who screams it is "rightfully" his) took off his own older gear and had the group roll for the older item? And each person down the line?
No you haven't. That is because the guy who says NBG really means just Need for himself - to sell or for his alt.
All members should have a shot at no drop items. We have alts too.

well, lol i dont know what im doing but somthing sure seems crazy. I read all above to see 6 belts 3 , i never saw the rottings shopkeep once. We killed everyting from the stars forwardto golems. Is there a trick ?
I have yet to even see the shopkeeper and my group worked that area hard from like 9 pm to 3am this morning and not one drop, not even one spaun. Would love suggestions, or hints, but am thinking im just gonna start silvery belt of contention quest could not be as hard and fruitless as this evening has been. Although i am nearly lvl 60 lol . thanks for what its worth.
I have a 61 necro and have seen where many necro's solo this camp. I was just wondering is there a trick to pulling this room. everytime i try to pull it i get all 3 spawns. The first two spawns at the entrance of the room are no problem to solo. Who knows maybe im just doing something wrong LOL. Anyway if any Necro's have any information that could help me out that would be great. thanks
If you stand at the base of the stairs going up to blacksmith, inch around corner just far enough, and root the PH for rotting shopkeeper, the middle mob in his room will agro. Kill him, keeping the PH rooted, then kill PH. Kill third mob in room at your leisure, now room broken.
Im no necro expert but have you tried: a: Screaming Terror/Undead Mez ( not sure how effective that is ) b: Root/pull FD c: Snare/Root/FD d: Dont try cause I want that camp, j/k )
Any combination of anything besides just seeing if you could pull one, which you cant even at 65.
Patch in late december seems to have dramatically reduced the drop rate on the Soulscream Belt from 2 out of 3 times reduced to 1 out of 4 times or less. Has anyone else, who regularly camps this mob found the same to be true? Thanks sony=p
been killing here for 6 hours, hasn't even spawned...been killing golem/smith/shopkeeper...cleaning house... seems like he can be completely random at spawning, either him or PH spawn every 15 minutes.
Everytime I head to veksar he spawns around once every other spawn cycle, or 1 hour roughly. And maybe my groups have been very luck, but he's dropped the belt bout 60% of the time. No arguements from me though, he's funding my lvl 65 spells.
He spawns in the room with the clerks and shopkepers. In the room right before the stairs that lead up to the blacksmith. His PH is a Revenant and is a VERY rare spawn.... Gl to ya =)
Got him last days three times while hunting there about 3 hours or so. Not really very rare i guess. The shield seems to be the common drop. One time we got the belt.
Actualy like many PH's he's random. 3 FULL 6 hour sessions of him, and the black smith & golems, he spawned about 3 times each day at random intervals, and with 9 spawns, no belt yet.
So far in the last week got about 10 aas and 6 belts soloing here... It's great =)
I seem to get a belt at least once every time I go there (from 1-6 hours) I might have just been having really good luck... They still seem very rare in bazaar and the zones almost always empty so more for me =P
