I was camping the soulstripper one night with a 57 warrior friend of mine. He pulled this guy while we waited for the named guy to spawn. He charmed us. After my friend ran to the zoneline I was left behind. As we made our way back to the spawn point of this guy.....we stopped and hasted all of his friends on the way. It really sucked a lot :( Didn't get the hammer that night but going back soon to try again.
He doesn't seem to drop anything more then the other luggalds in this area. - the ever present luggald dagger which sells like FS weaps - sharpened luggald claw - gems - words - and the occasional luggald flesh
This guy and the chanter version seem best handled by a fear kite if you can do it. Keep the area clear and watch those spawn timers. Last thing you want is one of these guys poping in the middle of fighting one of his buddies. Their complete heals and ill timed nukes can turn an easy fight into a pain the ***.
Hmm... no posts here yet. Here's some info on this mob, then. They appear to be wizard-types, as their blasts seem fire-based and do a lot of damage. They will root you like many casters, and every now and then they will gate, although that could be one of the mob bugs floating around in the game.
Of course, they also hit like melees.
My typical Luggald Caves group is in the mid-high 40's - Monk, cleric, and Chanter (me), and rogue (also me). We could handle everything in there pretty easily up until the corner past the bridge. Mobs are tougher there, and it was harder to keep the spawns clear.
I haven't been back since my chanter was 44 (focusing on the ships now), so I don't know how much easier it is.
Sorry to disappoint you chief, but these are clerics for sure, they nuke like crazy and heal themselves ALOT ! My 49 pet nearly got waxed in a couple blasts from this jackass. Needless to say I smoked him and his corpse fell into the wall and I couldn't loot it, so no idea what he drops. Probably drops a nice item...
