To anyone camping elementals for the primary purpose of getting pieces of Chromatic armor I have one thing to say. Get back on your meds. I farm this island regulary for 12 hours at a shot and have probably killed over 15,000 elementals by now and I have 3 pieces of the Chromatic armor, Aero's Haste Boots, a Chromatic Cloak and a new piece to Alakazam, once the pic is up, a Chromatic Collar. First and foremost, the armor is decent level for what your killing, but it is so ultra rare that it falls into the catagory of a perk. Even full groups of 30's killing elementals for exp would probably not see a piece of it in a month if you went everyday for 8 to 10 hours. You could kill a thousand Ancient Cyclops in the OOT before you would get a full set of this stuff, if it even exist, a full set that is.

Oh, and as of tonight, I now have the Chromatic Mask that dropped off a regular air elemental. So now I have 3 of the known 4 pieces and 1 unknown, soon to be known if our man at Alakazam can get thru the awesome amount of email he must get and post it. Thats the chromatic collar. Well, up to 4 pieces and only took me about 18,000 elementals to get them. Thank God thats not the reason I kill them or I would, should, be commited by now.

Why do u kill em? surely these would be green if u have killed that many of them?

I have gottton a few Rare drops but not this mask still trying to fond it exlusively hunting elementals

So to get this would be a "l o n g" camp?
You could always get lucky... but, probably, yes. I've gone through TS for quite a few hours total, and only ever gotten 1 rare drop so far, being the Mighty Earthen Gauntlets. Good luck!

Another very similar mask is the sebilite scale, slightly less resists no str but +4 wis to wisdom and some hp/mana.
Umm...this is probably the best mask a ranger can get solo before around level 58 (mushroom veil). Plate classes may have better available to them, but this is an awesome item for chain classes.

I submitted this item. I was doing a mass slaughter of Elementals at the time. I am about 99% sure they droped from a standard elemental, not one of the named or special ones. I would say that something like 1 in 500 normal elemantal drops a nice item, problem is that after a few hundred spiney weapons you tends to stop checking.

I'm willing to bet this was from a Greater <something> Elemental, or a Gigantic <something> Elemental. I have killed hundreds of regular elementals and they never dropped anything besides spiny weapons and research pages. The Greaters, Gigantics, and unique names always drop a semi-rare/rare item.
From what I can tell, all the different Greaters and Gigantics have the same loot table, but the uniques each have their own specific loot.

And I might add, a few days latter Watson, that I got the face mask tonight off a regular Air Elemental. The Chromatic Armor is all ultra rare, regardless of the common rating it keeps getting on each piece, and it can drop from anything, regulars, big ones, and named. The one exception I have seen to that is Aero and the Chromatic Haste Boots. It is possible that the better pieces, if they exist at all, like BP and Legs may also be a alternate rare drop from named, i.e. Inferno, Hydro, Terra.

Nice try Watson as SH would say, but the regulars do ramdomly and extremely rarely drop the Chromatic items, with the exception of the boots, which are a Aero secondary rare drop along with his greater guard of haste. Go check the Chromatic Cloak out and you will see that a couple of posters, myself one of them, did receive it from a regular water elemental. How rare is this chromatic equipment? Well, I figure I am up to about 15,000 elementals killed by now and I have 3 pieces of it, including Aero's boots. Hopefully, if I can get this screen shot of the Chromatic collar cropped and sent into Alakazam you will see a new piece with my name on it. My 5 seconds of fame.
