I am getting rdy to go after the naturalist once again anyone have ideas on how to spawn him gonna try killing cral ligis in secret area see if that works???
Took about 2 weeks of questing. The hardest parts were the meeda hune archaeologist and the cral ligi naturalist. Just fight creatures with the same prefix names as the one you're after and the special one will eventually pop up. IE) cral ligi whatevers and meeda hune whatevers. All items are droppable, so if you get lucky you can actually buy this quest. I unfortunately was only able to buy the sunjewel.

Got Fossillized Skull from A Meeda Hune Archeologist in Tenebrous Mountains. He just wandered in front of Katta entrance while I was hunting Sonic wolves. Conned white to a lvl 40.
Ranger Twilight Wpn is similar to Beastlord wpn. Same with Ranger and Beastlord epics. Not that I mind, just wondering what that's about. Think Verant got lazy?
I saw a post earlier about the sun jewel (can't find it now). I looted one of these in Scarlet Desert off of a tainted/corrupted lightcrawler right near the zone of Twilight Sea. Didn't know what it was for at the time, but I tucked it away in the bank with the rest of my useless stuff.
has anyone seen or killed the sambata potter? i've tracked the entire zone for more than an hour and can't seem to find one. anyone know of a PH? i've heard inside the rockhopper caves but where in there?
The potter always spawns (for me) in the same spot. Go down the cave all the way to the big, open room. The potter spawns just to the left of the entrance.

This is where it spawned for me as well. I believe that this is the place. Kill place holders in this spot. To be more clear, it is the 3rd open room you come to and the left most spawn.
Grrrr i ve spent so many hours in TS. Seen : - Crag ligi powermonger (2 times) - Crag ligi warmonger - Crag ligi painter (3 times) - Crag ligi friend (3 times) - Crag ligi spiritlord (2 times) - Crag ligi healer (2 times) - Crag ligi warlord - Crag ligi polisher - Crag ligi gemkeeper - Crag ligi bagman (3 times) - Crag ligi shadowmaster - Cral ligi airlord (2 times) - Cral ligi engraver (2 times) - Cral ligi embedder (2 times) - Cral ligi diver (2 times) - Cral ligi artisian (2 times) - Cral ligi dewcollector
All of them were from Hidden area in Twilight Sea
Now i looted stuff from : - Cral ligi Airmaster - Cral ligi weaver (2 times) - Cral ligi Ancient - Cral ligi Molder - Cral ligi writer
In Tenebrous Mountains
no naturalist ! i can't find any PH about it. if any of you have info about the PH or whatever about that darn naturalist please post it. Only reliable info please - i ve read the post all around already.
It is definetly not worthing the efforts doing Luclin armor quests.
Fifix 55 Ranger of Tunare. 7th Hammer
Finally :
- 10-12 days - 1 death - needed to raise a bit the factions with aliens to avoid them to aggro all (5 times) (by killing tro legs - 40 50 each time) - i wont count other farmed items (it was ok and normal thing with 2 or 3 hours of play on each.)
- For the ancient pottery - a group is required to get down into the cave and to kill the mobs there in DS sambata cave.
- looks cool but the stats are more important. - 3 bags of luclin items only for all classes. (i just needed that mark of naturalist)
Got 2 points in alt xp with green and light blue mobs... to give you an idea about the time spent on that.
And yes - it was dropping in hidden area in Twilight sea from Cral Ligi Naturalist.
maybe a full group of 45 peeps can do it. I wonder. but surely not a Ranger alone below 55 (without chloroplast and some luck to not die).
Be safe and goodbye Twilight Sea. Just kill all cral ligi.
I can confirm this, during my times of kiting in this zone (those non-snareable mobs give a pretty decent amout of xp), I killed the meda hune naturalist a few times....
Lalandrae 51 Wanderer of Tunare Rodcet Nife http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=127275
The naturalist is most definitely CRAL LIGI - *not* meeda hune. It does spawn in the hidden area of TS. A few guildies and I slew aliens for a few hours and it popped.

Looks like this weapon would go well with my LSEE; the str on this more than makes up for the loss of str on the LSEE, though there is no sta to make up for that loss (which may be why I'm keeping my Onyxbrand).
Hmm I might just go out and look for one, maybe even try to quest it. The look is very badass(sorry for all of you who don't like that term it fits too well) and i'd like the cash i'd get from selling a centi longsword :) anyone think this and a lammy would be a good combo?
dis axe looks preddy, but me thinks der is better weapons out der fer not so much trouble. plus de stooped ting is rnger only. i dun thinks much te dat. sill pretty ranger axe! Bulvar Biggins Dwarven Warrior Terris Thule
This weapon is retarded for the work involved. Centi Short Swords 12/25 5str/sta go for 300pp commonly on Rodcet Nife. That needs to be taken into account when coming up with weapons that involve long quests and require you to be high level.
Actually, my centi shortsword DOES have 9 damage bonus. All 1H weapons have the same damage bonus. Consider that the centi SS can be gotten off certain random mobs in ME (I got one off of a goranga gatherer the other night) and, as said, sells for maybe 500pp. This requires trips to multiple zones, killing multiple mobs. Now granted, I might just do the quest simple for the look of the axe. I'd never use it, but it sure would look cool running around with it.
Damage bonus is determined by the character's level, it changes depending on who's holding it. I have a Centi SS now and I want this because I need the extra Dex and Wis, and not to mention it just looks darn good. It's actually one of the few quest weapons prior to the Epic that's actually somewhat worth getting.
Wenasa Masterchef 48 Season Half Elf Ranger Ayonae Ro
One thing I don't understand is why the beastlord's twilight weapon had a better ratio than this, with the exact same stats. The Feral Claws are 13/27 which is only 1 point less damage with the same delay as Centi Longsword. Does this seem weird to anyone else?
Although the stats are nice, any ranger should have a nicer damage/delay ratio at the level it requires to get the items for this quest. Should be closer to 12 26 or 10 22 for such work in collecting the pieces. Think I will just keep my lupine dagger 9 18 and CSS 12 24. Or a Centi LS which is easier to get. Teiden Oakbear 51 Pathfinder Evening Reign
The lvl required to get this is a bit easier than what is required to get a Lupine Dagger. I think you are a bit stuck on yourself. Most Rangers in the 45 range would love this if they aren't twinks like you.
thats cool and all but at lvl 30 i had a lammy and a lup dagger and with fbss it was twice as good all thou it looks cool if your a lvl45 ranger and you dont have better you should be ashamned of youself and i didn't twink myself i killing mammys for about 2 months in ef
Regardless of how much you paid and where you got the plat, if you are not of sufficient level to get the weapon yourself with an appropriate group, then you are twinked!
Remember, admitting you're twinked is the first step on the road to recovery... ;)
I didn't say you had to kill it yourself, I merely stated, "If you weren't of sufficient level to get it yourself with an appropriate group..." and I'll stand by it. I hear people say all the time "I'm not twinked! I spent X amount of days killing X number of mammoths in Everfrost and earned X number of PP, which I bought my uber sword with!" Face it! you are deluding yourself! All of the level 30 rangers running around with Centi Longswords are twinked it doesn't matter where the plat came from. It takes a full group of high 40 to low 50 players to take down one of the four armed centiens that drops this sword (maybe half a group of mid 50's or higher). I was half hoping that Verant would implement it's "anti-twink policy" making items level appropriate or at least scaling the items capabilities till an appropriate level. Then maybe we'd see some level 40+ mobs dropping more than just junk only fit to twink with.
Edit: Twinking has such a negative connotation attached to it that most people refuse to admit that they are twinked. This comes from the 20 monk who is twinked to the max who wants to duel someone he knows can't win just to prove how uber he is. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with twinking. Everybody does it. I'm just saying get over it and move on.
Heh... well I suppose that depends on your definition of *twink*. This argument has raged since Norrath only had two continents (well, ok, three with Odus, but no one ever went there so it didn't count.)
You seem to think that if you didn't pry all your armor and weapons from the cold dead fingers of your enemy, then you are a twink.
My definition (and many would agree with me) is that if your character get items he/she did not earn, then you are a twink. If you save your coppers and buy a piece of armor you can't go out and get yourself, that isn't twinking -- that's being smart.
The reason I say it isn't twinking is because I *earned* the cash I spent for that item. That hill giant didn't just hand over his money: I had to smack him around a bit first, you know?
On top of that, I invested the time to wait around in GFay to buy my armor when I could have been out levelling. In a way, you could say I earned the item *twice* -- once in scrapping for cash, and again in wading through the spam in /auction. The jury's still out on which was tougher.
What's the difference between fighting mobs for plat and buying items; and fighting mobs and taking items directly off them? You're still defeating mobs, earning xp, and (eventually) getting a shiny new toy for your trouble? Only diff is that I get nicer toys sooner.
I will say that I don't like "plat/lewt pharmers" and I think it's kinda shady to go around killing greenies for cash to buy items. I wouldn't say "cheating" exactly, but not a very honorable way to earn your gear. And giving items to another character on your account *is* twinking that character; regardless if you earned the item on your main, *that* character did not.
Not that there's anything wrong with that... :)
But, come on: what *else* am I supposed to do with my plat if not buy stuff I can't get for myself? Food and water are cheap, and I can only drink so much booze. :)

No, the Woodsman's Boots are a very nice Emerald Green color. If you are in your 40's and still wearing Dwarven Workman Boots; I recommend you get these...very nice look and the are a lil better than the DWB's.

oops i suck-you meant the items FOR the quest, not the axe itself.my bad. From what i understand these items only drop in scarlett,Mons Letalis,Dawnshroud and Tenebrous-last i heard they were random drops from random mobs-but i cannot be quoted on that.At one point i came across a database of the Twilight components and the mobs they drop off of-but since i suck i dont remeber where i found that database.if i stop sucking anytime soon and remeber the address of the database ill post it here, but until then i still suck.
This is a very nice offhander for stats, just 4 dly slower then the Centi Shortsword, its very good. That said, im looking to buy this on Mithaniel Marr, or buying the quest pieces (except jewels) for it. Will pay well. Tell me in game or email me.
