Well this still drops. I got one today. I have killed this mob probably 10 times and this is the first time it has dropped for me. It is visible in his hands when he drops it.
This mace is not common at all. I used to hunt at scarlet all the time and only seen it drop once and never again. I havn't been playing much these past few months but I asked someone who still hunts there a lot to quad the aliens and kill Kraen on the side and she said that she hasnt seen Kraen drop it once.
this is EXCELLENT for a wisdom caster who still melees at 45, which for the most part is only shamans, as there soloing techniques often require them to get up in the thick of things. even without the damage it has pretty nice stats, and its always nice to have a weapon, even if its just for taking down green agros.
for a melee class this is decent, its a stepping stone between somewhat low quality weapons like ykeshas, crystal brinders, icetooth claws ect. and the nice stuff like lamentations, jade maces, crystaline spider fangs ect.
Sorry forgot to submit who drops this. I got it from Kraen Flameweaver. He's a rare spawn at Tro Jeg Temple on the plateau. He can't be snared or rooted but I was able to "kite" him anyway opening with winged death and then using breath of karana because of it's very rapid cast time. I think the mace is his rare drop. I only know of one on bristlebane atm. It looks like a skull on a stick.
Does it drop from anything named Tro Jeg or (I would assume) from a named mob in the desert?? Yes, it would be a nice upgrade for a 1hb, unless you can lay hands on a centi warhammer ;)
It allways dissapoints me to see items with words like "Firey" "Icy" "of wind" and such, and then they dont have any type of visual effect to support the description.
Thats because Verant reserves the particle effect for 'special' items... thats why they won't put a particle effect on the Flaming Rapier (altough it should have one (and I'm not a rogue)).
This item is pretty nice for the level you can get it... solid stat boosts and a good dps make it good for both hybrids and meleeing wis casters. And it should sell well, too. :)
