I haven't tried since the introduction, but prismatic wouldn't work back then. Not sure if they ever fixed that or not. The patch notes sounded like (implied) any, including prismatic would work, but at release, the prismatic didn't. Any of the individual ones as fcoty listed worked at the time however.
Don't know if that's what you were after or not, but if it is might clear it up for some people, not thinking that prismatic is part of the any.
EDIT: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Secrets_of_Faydwer_Armor_Guide#Tier_3 probably explains it more clearly, specifically the section about the Since the patch notes.
