Just curious, is there anyone that knows of something better that I could possibly buy/ quest for to replace this with? I have had this and the othmir cap since I was lvl20 and I am now at lvl 48. Oh, and I am a cleric btw with bertoxxulous as my deity... don't ask lol!
4 AC loss is nothing compared to the +5 wis gain. I duo with an Enchanter and the down time is null because she can fear and I hardly get hit. If I do get hit its just because a missed Snare or Fear or somthing wore off. In that case you need to be able to heal and with this bracer it gives you the extra WIS to keep the downtime from going up. All in all its the shiznit with a Hero Bracer.. I wear the Old world Mithril set on my Ranger Halfling.. Snarebear.. one word. 3l33t
I have a necro that I use just to summon bods for the guild. I was trying to get something to help with the cost of the Jade coffins. If I get 2 of these will that increase my chance of not using the coffins or other things that have Regent Conservaton 3? I was told that RC3 does work with summoning corpses, is this true too?
I would suspect that this DOESN"T affect the corpse summon spell, as the limit says summon item excluded. However, I am not certain, having never played a necro/SK high enough to get summ0on corpse.
You're correct about the effect not stacking, but not correct on summon corpse reagent use. I used to use a Savant's cap (with RC II) for when I used Lesser Summon Corpse (good to lvl 35) and it would save me a coffin once in a blue moon. That being said, I'm pretty sure this item would work for Summon Corpse also, which is pretty nice considering the reagents costs 140-180pp, depending on faction and charisma.
Okay I understand it doesn't stack making a 30% chance, but sill it roll for the 15% 2 times? I guess I'm asking if there is any RC benifit to adding items with RC. Like if I have 4 EC items will it roll 4 times or only once with the highest %?
No, the check to see if you have a conservation effect is made only once. It looks through your inventory, counts all effects (such as RCII and RCIII), picks the best of all of those, then makes the check, one time only, against the best chance/effect. Put something beneficial on the other wrist, unless you are wearing it just for the AC/WIS, etc.
Damn! Ouch! I'm thinkin' player vendors on Drinal think we are on the 'rich/affluent' server! I went up to the bazaar to look for these ande the LOWEST price was 1K!~ Geesh! WEll, looks lick its back to Sol and sittin on me butt to get in a group for these. Unless there is a kind soul out there wo wants to sell one for a more reasonable price! lol Take care all,
Actually prices on items on different servers varry. This bracer sellf for about 100p on Bristlebane. Just because there are soo many out there. I've seen an item on BB sell for 20k well on another it sold for 10k. Not all servers are the same.
I am currently wearing a set of Totemic bracers and even tho they +10 Dexterity is nice, even tho I have stopped meleeing, I would much rather have the +10 Wisdom bonus from these bad boyz.
Anyone notice that there are some pretty bad@ss bracers out there? Serpentine Bracers give +18 Agility and +6 Dexterity. Silvery Bracers give +18 Stamina and +4 Agility. Now of course these don't have to be used by caster types - but I am sure the hybrids out there would love to use them (my Beastlord is still wearing a pair of Serpentine Bracers)
These are beat... I picked one up to save on Essence Emeralds.... Lemme tell you - I have seen it work on Manaskin, Pets, etc... but not once has it worked during a convergence.
I believe that perhaps they do not work for convergence. sigh.
Going by my observations in the Bazaar, prices are going to vary widely except for the nicest items (those that are 1000pp and more). This is definitely worth the 300-400 that seems to be the going price, but depending on the number of people selling them at any one time -- and the desire of some traders to unload their stock -- you can pick one up for considerably less if you are patient. I paid 30pp for one and 50pp for another, but most people in Bazaar are selling for substantially more than that. Then again, there is alway the person who thinks he can get 1000pp for something like this...
Although fairly easy to obtain if you camp KPC often, these are normally 350pp. They are nice for all wis based casters. Also, sSince I am a cleric who likes fashion coordination, I like the fact that you can have one of these for the effect and a Bracer of the Reverent for the AC and switch colors of bracers depending on which bracer you equip last... RMB for that brushed metallic blue look or BoR for that brushed metallic gold color. BTW.. these look great with Seb Scale armor, as that armor has a bluish tinge to it.

This is definately a handy item to have for any caster that requires spell components for their spells. One thing I did noticed is that casting high level necro pets with this bracer sometimes uses only 1 bonechip as opposed to 2 bonechips. And if I am really lucky, I might not need to use any bonechips at all. So for all you necros out there, having this bracer effectively reduces your need for bonechips to about half. It's definaly an item worth camping for if you are a necro. BTW, anyone knows what's the current price on this bracer now that it's upgraded?
This was changed awhile back. All necro pets, minus the Emissary, require only one bone chip. The Emissary of course still requires the peridot in addition to the chip.
Actually, I've noticed that I still use 2 bonechips per pet casting. And even if you don't care about the bone chips, this bracer will definately come in handy if you are planning to raid PoA and need to summon bodies. This bracer will also cut down the amounts of coffins you will use; thus saving you or your guild tons of plat.
It only has a 15% chance of letting you not use components.
This could be handy if you are a wizard who ports everyone to the Plane of Sky, and discover that you STILL have the magic sky rock, but really, it's not anything you can count on and it's an unimpressive focus effect. It should be like 50% chance.

Posted:Jun 09 2002 at 2:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) SOUR GRAPES! You betcha. 15% chance of NOT using me precious peridots that only cost 10.5pp each. UUUGGGG Come on ya gave the D.O.T. Classes 33% Haste Affliction and +20% Extended Affliction !!! STOP YOUR KILLING ME WITH ALL THIS NECRO LOVE! WHEN DOES IT EVER STOP???? But once again,Im sure we would not want to "UNBALANCE THE GAME" kicking it up to 20 or 30% for us super rich and uber Cleric's out there. OH sure thoes pesky people with a frigging levitate spell would totally abuse that 20 to 30% Reagent Conservation and throw the whole game out of wack. Lol I hate whiners so everyone disreguard my boo hooing. Thanks VI for another Groovy focus item. Hell It could be worse. They could of put the Reagent III on a robe or moonstone ring then I would really have something to whine about :)
As a test, I put this on and casted Symbol of Transal using 1 stack of Cat-Eye Agates. I ended up buffing 25 times with 20 reagents...the difference is definately noticable and even if this is a crap bracer stat-wise, every cleric should have one stashed in their backpacks just for the effect, so they can put it on when buffing with the Symbol line of spells or GAego/Aego.
As of now (June 4, 2002), it looks like those are only live on Test. Conserve Reagant is a chance to not consume a spell component when a spell is cast. I just got one of these last night, and I'm going to hold off selling it in case the change goes live.
I just got one of these for my 31 Pali last night. While the AC is low, I really needed the Wis and Str is always welcome. I have this and an erolsi bracer (5 ac 5 str) but I'd give up the erolsi for another one in a heartbeat, my heals suck down mana fast. It looks cool too, a light bluish colour, perfect match with a mithril bp
I am a druid who solos allot I have recently given up melee and am becoming a master of kiting. these bracers are godly the wis is very helpful but their selling point is the str if you are kiting properly you don't get hit very often but the str helps keep me from being encumbered . before you try to tell me the virtues of wt reduction bags let me say that with the exception of my sewing kit and spit I carry nothing else for a mid 30's druid these bracers are in my opinion ideal all I need is to get a second one of my own so I can stop barrowing my roommates from his cleric.
as a paladin with hero/scavenging combo i keep my rmb in my wis bag for when i have to play cleric. lets me get out a bit more healing, as soon as i get less poor i will have to get me a second one. This bracer is great and i wouldnt get rid of it, unless i had 2 bracers with higher wis.
are best for druids, as much as it pains me to say it, because they don't get a ton of wrist items that are any better. Clerics should stick with ther sol temple bracers for the AC, because even though they don't aggro alot they do need the AC for when they do, and 9ac and 5 wis is much better than losing the AC for the extra str, even for the low str clerics out there. Also good for shaman because their totemic bracers do have more AC but the dex isn't really high on a shaman's wish list while wis is. Shaman can also look at the bracer of scavenging if they are inclined for AC as they have same stats as totemic with stamina to boot but are lore so you can only get one. another shaman choice is to get these AND totemic/scavenging, I know a few shaman who frequently carry 'sets' of gear for either AC or wis depending on the situation. I wouldn't really consider these for paladins or even rangers either, those two classes take way too many hits and don't use their mana pool as much as priest classes to justify the sacrifice of AC for the wis, much better to go scavenging/hero for either of these.
This is regarding the lower level player, taking into consideration the unavailablilty of pre-planar, pre-velious quest gear of course and is my opinion only so feel free to disagree with me but take into consideration what you trade off for if you are a paladin or ranger or even a cleric wanting these.
I was lucky enough to win the roll on this item today and put it on my ranger. I decided that the extra wisdom was a better choice over the 5ac or so I lost from my sebilite scale bracer. But what I really meant to post about is the races. On the RMB I got, it actually had races listed on it and one of the races was VAH. Personally I have no idea what race would fit for VAH but I thought it might be for the shadows of luclin. If anyone knows what this might be let me know, because right now i'm a little confused =)
I would suggest you sell the bracer and not wear it on your ranger. You are going to find AC far more important than WIS ever will be on your ranger, you may be a hybrid but you as a ranger are most certainly more melee than caster.
Personally I would stick with what you have...the AC would help more, because in most cases you will get attacked for being on top of the hate list...Plus...with the availability of str buffs from other classes, you shouldn't worry about a bit of str to help carry stuff..just my 2cp 8)
Hope I helped at all..

I have the cleric bracers AC9 +5wis. I saw these for sale and was struggling to consider whether I give up the AC for the str. I know I'm not a fighter, but the extra str lets me carry more, but the lower ac means when I get attked after healing someone I'll be taking more damage.
Keep the cleric bracers and spend your money on better weight reducing bags. Or have someone create one of the conjured bags for you to carry the heavy stuff in, they are 100% weight reducing (but no rent, so don't log with anything in them).
AC is way more important for a cleric than strength.
