I got two of these Bracers on this character. The first I sold or destroyed but I believe it was on my first or second Warlord. The second time I got the drop it was on the second warlord for that round of camping. It is uncommon but I am not sure that it is rare.
I've been at this for 3 days on fippydarkpaw, and i have yet to see the thing drop, granted I'm not here 24hrs a day, but a good 9hrs a day looking for it and killing every PH has yielded non :( thanks soe or being boring yet again
here is update many weeks later than last post i have now killed 168 Warlords and 341 Place holders, including a joyous time of 52 PH ina row with no warlord,
of course the game has robbed me and the 168 warlords have dropped NO bracers
been in Cb 10 days with classic EQ toons, he his rarer spawn than orc taskmaster but not as rare as dvinn, maybe killed the PH 200 times he spawned maybe 25 times, he dropped the bracers of battle ZERO times in 10 days
I remember doing this quest back in the day. Even then Screaming Mace was meh, but the smart players would do the quest twice. Once for the Screaming Mace itself and then again to get all the items to use. The tunic, bracer, shield and prayer shawl were all sweet items for a noob back then.

the problem with EQ is.. there is not place to go once you hit Lvl 70. and a geared to the teeth.. my cleric is around 13k hp and 2300 ac.. they should have never made gear over the 200 hp range.. just made the expansions with minor upgrades. and a little harder...
I keep hoping the will bring back the EP.. like a 2nd and 3rd lvl to them...
Some people arent Twinked when they start the game.. or are just tired of getting everything from the HIGH level friend or alt. This is a nice bracer..
Don't make me laugh. Why would anybody even bother. Better gear is available cheaper and look what you give up to get it. The bracer. Not the greatest stats but for a lowbie it's alright. Dwarven Tunic. Nice AC for lowbie, nice resist buffs for lowbie. Shiny Brass Shield (not needed unless you have bad faction) Nice AC, nice magic resist buff, awesome light source. The +3 WIS shoulderpads. Any WIS caster/hybrid who gives up a +3 WIS item for a SM is out of his freaking mind. Would you give up all this for a 8/35 1HB with random Yaulps? I don't think so.
Edit: Screaming Mace sells for 10PP in Bazaar. If you MUST have one, then buy it. Camping the spawns and gathering the goodies to do this quest takes too long for what you get.

i think your forgetting one important thing here. this was a quest has been around for at least three years if not since release. after seven expansions and the release of bazaar, low level chars can buy the junk that high level chars dont want. junk that years ago was considered really nice items. i remember when i got my first velium weapon. i think they sold for like 20pp and it was like such a major upgrade! (and the screaming mace is better than a velium weapon, since it doesnt proc until after 25 or so. which is btw the time that i got rid of my velium weapon). so you cant really judge yesterdays quest and rewards at today's standards cuz they'll never compare.

The quest wasn't really that great even when the game was new. The stats from all the items that you have to burn to get the mace are better off being used and not burned to get the mace. Back then you could easily sell the Dwarven Tunic for a lot of money and once Kunark went live, Screaming Mace was instantly outdated. I can understand if it took a few expansions to obsolete it, but it was obsolete in the very first expansion. It was never worth having.

ok the bracer is nice for melees but the barcer is part of the sreaming mace quest. Go the the hut by the slavers caves inside there is 2 dwarfs and a high elf priest give the priest the bracer and u get pads that are +3 wisdom. kill emperer crush and get the dwarven chain mail tunic give that to the first dwarf and he will give u a dwarven mace. give the mace and the +3 wisdom pads to the priest at the same time and u will get the sreaming mace in return then kill warlord a few more times and get the pads, and wear the bracers till u get better :) good luck good hunting. ps the mace is great for clerics to use as a first real weapon

i could pay lots for a 6DEX item with 2STR total, but getting 2 of these on me wouldn't be a bad idea. make my dex go from 92 to 98... nevermind, bad idea, AC is pathetic, i'm currently making fine plate in smithing.
