Been hunthing this for months. IF you find one on the E'ci server, please send tell to elmador. I will pay for the multiquest of this item.
WOOO!! HOOOOOO!!
I finnaly got one after many months of killing the ph to make the named knight pop just inside, right of opening intoruin, under the fallen wall. However it didnt happen the way i intended. First of all this guy is a devil of a rare spaun. Have hunted for as long a 7 hours never leaving camp as group needed shards for the vex thal key, and never seen it. To this day after if have my ashbringer i have never seen this named. By pulling the ph, and only the ph threw the day and leaving and checking i was keeping it down. As i was finishing another katta quest , the shield of bane warding, I highly recommend for clerics 20 wis 25 ac and some cha and 10 saves, not sure which. After finished with bane shield i ran quickly over to sd to see if perhaps my dedication to the ph had worked. Hot damn, it had, however the group that had arivved just 10minutes before me hunting shards had looted it, talk about depressing. So i talked to him and he said guild needed it. Low and behold, his friend had looted one earlyer and would mq it. I offered to pay, and to me this was no problem. I mean the toon helped me might have done it for free, so heck yeah i donated to him. Not bad 2k one before he turned in and one after .
In short i got my ashbringer, and i know all u haters out there will say why waiste your time. I started this quest when my palladin was 40 or so and tennebrous mountains was like a hell zone. Getting bits and i was not going to destroy bits and pass on a quest i gave so much time too. OH and the sword rocks. I went to do some vamp hunting after, and i proced 5 times in one fight, the vampire withered like a daisy in the sun with out water . I cryed i felt so good lol ok i didnt cry but damn i could have . So wanted to pass on my exp with the named knight in the ruins. I would suggest pulling only the ph. Pacify the one just at entrance, and above him on ramp then run to the wall near the knight spaun inside, but outside the wall. The walls are transparent to agro so u will pull him thru it , and like magic u got your ph and u wack him safely away from his friends. Root he will run .
Be prepaired to mq this quest . You maynot be around to get the named or not even see him like me. This is where all those polite game play hours come in handy. Offer to pay them little something what the hey your probrably loaded from all the hours u spent trying to make the named drop the old fashioned way.
About the Mq. I had said toon, hand in the gem, then i handed in my 3 pieces after he says nothing there is no extra text. I just hailed him so i had his attention and handed it in. You get the victory horns and your ashbringer. Hand in is as follows.
1. Your reflective combine claymore
2. Sonnias fangs you should have Two Fangs.
3 Gem of Condenced Flame.
So Sword, two fangs, thats 3 and Gem of condenced flame.
Oh also take your time, when u get the gem finnaly your gonna be freakin over joyed.
The hand in npc in katta is in the gov. Building up stairs on left side. name of saumeem unja Good luck hope to see you killing vampires soon : )

I went from level 59->60 pretty much soloing this camp. I killed a LOT of sun revs (plus reavers and named critters). In all, I let about a dozen shards rot, got 5 girdles, and 5 of the urns (two types, can't remember the names of the items). I would guess that I cleared the camp about 25 times. Call that about 250 mobs, cuz I didn't clear it all the way each time. I got *one* of these gems. It's very rare.
It might be that this weapon would be useful against Seru, but I can't say that for certain. If it isn't then don't bother camping this for a weapon for your paladin.
If you want decent low-50s loot and have a good party that wants to hang out and get decent xp--especially if you have a necro or other snare+fear in the group to fearkite with--then this camp is a decent place to hunt. The Sun Knight guy is so rare that the possibility of getting the gem should be viewed as a nice bonus, not a prime goal for a paladin. Else, you'll likely be disappointed.

I camped this for about 5.5 AAs and never saw it drop. I hit max kos with the minions of the sun lord (that is about 2000 kills), killed about 5-10 of each named (only one sun lord though).

The weapon is not useful against Lord Inquisitor Seru at all. It's useful against Heratius Grolden and Valdanov Zevfeer, both of which are used in quests for very nice shields. The two urns you are talking about though are the Sun Chalice and the Grail of Justice. Getting the sword is very much worth it if you plan on grouping (Or soloing) in the Vampyre settlements in Tenebrous, Maiden's Eye, and multiple other zones. Regardless, the sword is only useful in these situations, something most pals should throw in the bank.

its used for the Ashbringer....Pally only weapon...check out the quest for the cotterie Grot*** stuff. Nice weapon for a 2HS....18/32...and undead specific bane dmg and a proc
If anyone is on Tholuxe Paells and you attain this...i would be very gracious if you wouldnt mind letting me have this (short on dough due to questing for the 10-series Shawl and Ring quests from Velious)...so i would be forever in debt to ya.

I think it's probably a quest item, but not sure what quest it's for.
