The in-game item description says the Augmentation Solvent is needed to remove and destroy this item. It says nothing about removing it safely, so my guess is once you put it somewhere it's going to stay there unless you want to buy a new one.

you can get this after completing either oceangreen, kithicor or field of scale tasks as any one of those gives you the void b access, just pointing out it doesn't have to be oceangreen.
