On Veeshan, after multiple price checks, the price on these go as low as 300 and as high as 500. Centi LS goes for 1k, which is the same price as a Wurmslayer. Now, to just make that money...200pp to go. =P

The "Black Acks" are a new line of weapons similiar to the Centi line, but can be made by blacksmiths and have a nice proc too. According to the new reports coming in, Lifedraw is the proc on the new Black Acrylia weapons. Not a bad effect; let's hope it doesn't change.
Weapon del dam other
Bl. Acrylia ******* Sword 30 14 +2 magic damage
Bl. Acrylia Scimitar 22 10 +1 magic damage
Bl. Acrylia Long Sword 25 12 +2 magic damage
Anyone interested in the Centi-type weapons might also consider the Black Acrylia weapons. If you can aquire some of the components for the recipe, the blacksmith would likely offer you a reduced rate.
Centi SS
# May 28 2002 at 12:53 AM Rating: Default

I recently bought a Centi SS for 30pp in the Butcherblock Mountains and placed it in my primary slot...with Stormfeather talons in secondary(8dmg/23del)...and my dual weild is now at a healthy 90. Placing a faster weapon in secondary increases the chances of dual weild going up b/c the faster u swing it the faster it goes up. Just my opinion. =)

Today I traded out my Centi SS for a Sebilite Scale Coat, Sebilite Scale Cap, and a Ry'Gorr neck piece. The lady said I was getting the better end of the deal and I know I did... Now I just gotta find another weapon *sigh* The sacrifices we make. :)

I picked two up yesterday; one for 350pp and the other for 300. Veeshan's shopping channel is eqsn, and I have been learning the art of the wheel and deal there. I had been given an adamantite bo stick, but it is monk only. I traded it for a Wurmslayer and sold that for 1k. So, I got two SS's and a tidy 350p extra in the bank. Yes, I know the SS is lore; one was for my wife.

Ok, I can get a Centi SS for about 1/3 the price of a Centi LS. Obviously the Centi LS is better if pp is not an issue, but I am thinking of saving the 1K and buying the Centi SS and putting the savings towards a Haste item (FBSS maybe). Any opinions on which is the "best value"???
RE: Best Value : Centi SS or Centi LS
# May 14 2002 at 7:55 AM Rating: Decent
Think of it this way. If you buy one good weapon, you have one good weapon, but one weapon can only do damage once. If you buy two lesser weapons but can do damage faster in the long run you'll do more damge. I bought my centi SS first and it worked great, and it was cheap enough that I could save up for it fairly easy. If your a ranger like me, centi SS and haste will keep your aggro down, and benefit your group by allowing you to do good damage, and benefit you by not dying. Buy the SS, then a little later on buy the LS. That is what I did and it worked well for me
which?

I just picked up a Centi Short Sword and a Shaded Blade for my ranger any suggestions on which should go in primary and which should go in secondary???
RE: which?
# Dec 19 2002 at 9:59 AM Rating: Decent
Faster weapon in Secondary when you are trying to build your Dual Wield skill.

If that's maxed, put the faster weapon in Primary.

The attacks ARE independent, but the better your DW, the more overall damage your going to be able to dish.

RE: which?
# May 11 2002 at 4:20 PM Rating: Default
Always always always put the fastest weapon in your primary and the best ratio in your offhand.

The delay of the weapons is not linked in anyway. Check boards like http://forums.interealms.com/ranger or any other melee class forums.

You want your primary hand to swing more often as it has a damage bonus. You want your secondary to do as much damage as possible hence the ratio. Unless you are less than about level 50 and have the stamina to use a Wurmslayer. It is primary only and will outdamage almost everything else as your damage bonus isn't big enough to compensate until after level 50... Then for something fast like a lamentation or something.
RE: which?
# May 08 2002 at 5:47 PM Rating: Default
Use the centi in primary. This allows dual weild to have a chance to work with every swing. Else, it will be every other swing.

On the E'Ci server, I advertised that I wanted one of these on the "bazaar" channel (type /join bazaar). I got two responses, one was 500pp and the other was 400pp. I hope this gives you a general idea of the pricing of the Centi Short Sword.

Its been tested. They are independant (wield a non-attack primary and you will see 2nd still attack)

You get a dmg bonus PER HIT on the primary. So best to have the FASTEST weapon you can get in primary, and BEST RATIO in 2nd.

My warrior wields a 10/18 in primary and 16/29 in off hand for instance. My Dmg Bonus at 54 is 9, so my primary is a 10+9/18. which does some good dmg :) Hope that helps.

PS. sometimes i wield faster weapon in off hand also, depending on lenght of fight. but in long fights, the better ratio does more dmg. Also, faster weapons have more chances to hit, so if you missing 1/2 the time, prolly don't want a slow weapon... cause each miss essentually doubling your delay..

RE: Correction
# Apr 07 2002 at 1:50 PM Rating: Default
Seconday hand swings independent of Primary hand. As it is each weapon's delay expires, it swings.

So the question is a matter of is a 33% increase in damage worth 20% higher delay (which costs you 20% of your damage bonus which only applies to primary hand).

Using the formulae for monk damage calculations, (so this may not be accurate for other classes and is also based on damage modifiers for 1HB which may be different than 1HS), the 16/30 is better than the 12/25 by 3.5%.

So although conventional wisdom is to go with faster weapon in primary becuase of damage bonus modifier, the significantly better ratio on the 16/30 makes up for this difference.

Runjun,
It is my understanding that in order to have a chance to dual wield on every attack your primary weapon should be slower than you secondary. Therefore use the Jagged in your primary and the Centi in your off hand.
good luck to you.

It doesn't matter to you or the warrior below which hand you equip your weapons in. As long as you get more twinked, it just doesn't matter.
RE: Which hand/which weapon
# Jun 12 2002 at 10:28 AM Rating: Decent
Actually it does matter. Plus I am "twinked" only because higher levels sell these items. I bought this and the warhammer for 300pp each . And I earned the money!. The game is meant for fun. If my idea of fun is to try to improve the equipment my toon has, then so be it. There is no reason to bash others because they have different opinions and ideas then you. These posts are for obtaining knowledge about the game, maybe you should stop playing and experience the real world and learn this.

Ah ha ha, you high levels are so smug. If I had 5 cp for every time someone called me "twinked" (and neither of my characters are AT ALL, thank you very much), I'd have at least a few plat.

Particularly in the Luclin & PoP era, an enterprising low-level can score a few hundred plat without difficulty -- pelts & silks are quite lucrative, for instance. And a lot of pretty good weapons are in such abundant supply and such low demand that they sell for a pittance. I've purchased the Centi SS, Centi Warhammer, BABS, and BALS all before lev 15, and all for well under 100 pp.

If you do not intend to be the main tank then I would definately go with the Wurmy in main and the Centi LS in the off hand. However if you are the main tank switch to the LS main and the SS off hand.
Remember when you are the main tank the speed of your weapons is vital to keeping agro.

Wurmy and Centi Long Sword. Gotta love the damage of the two. at least, that is my opinion. When you have people who can haste you around, the slight difference between the Centi LS and Centy SS is trivial.

If you have a haste item and are in group with haste caster or bard the Wurmslayer/Centi Longsword combo is the way to go. Without haste and depending on your lvl you may be better off using Short Sword in primary but only at lower lvls IMHO
    Would this be good?

I highly recommend a one hand slashing weapon like this for rogue's offhand. Always nice to have skill in something other than piercing, plus its easier to find higher damage, low cost slashing weapons than piercing... you can do lots of damage with the right sword. Centi SS and LS are certainly two nice examples.

Icetooth claw is primary only. This would force you to put the much better centi shortsword in secondary. Sell the icetooth claw, put the centi in primary, and use whatever you can afford in secondary. The centi warhammers sell pretty cheap. Or if that is too much look for the crystallized longsword which has same stats as icetooth claws, but is either melee. Secondary damage is miniscule compared to primary, so get the centi into your primary melee slot. Also, if you can afford it, the centi ss, centi ls combo is pretty nice.

The price on this thing (At least for Terris-Thule) is way off. These go for 250-400pp on the server. Got mine for 70pp and a crystallized sword (worth about 250pp). About midrange for what I haven seen.

When held, you might say this sword looks like a Japanese katana; it's slightly curved and with a slender blade. Sorry if I butchered the description as I'm no expert on swords, but when I saw the CSS, a katana came to mind.

Looted one of these for my 21 tank. It looks like a plain version of the sword the Val Shir tiger is holding on the "loading" screen getting into game. It's short (duh), slightly curve, and grey. Not sure about the atk bonus, but compaired to the Dwarvin Axe he was using, it's wonderful.

The centi shortsword is roughtly the same length as a standard longsword. I have one paired with a blackened alloy longsword (standard longsword graphic, same as fine steel), and they are about the same length. The centi is a bit longer. Also, the blade is darker in color, and a bit thicker, with a curved tip. Not overly ornate like the centi longsword, but a nice look.
    Just noticed this...
    # Jan 17 2002 at 8:40 AM Rating: Default
12/25 is fantastic for the price, but, at the risk of sounding ungrateful, I just noticed there is no damage bonus on this item. That makes it a fine off-hand weapon, but it isn't quite the god-send that it seemed at first. Still darn good for the 400p it cost me though.
    RE: Just noticed this...
    # Jan 20 2002 at 11:32 PM Rating: Decent
That just means that the person who took the screenshot couldn't wield it. The damage bonus varies depending on class and level (and maybe STR? Don't know about that), so if the person examining it can't wield it, it doesn't show a damage bonus. And, at level 37, my centi shortsword shows a damage bonus of 4, just like every other weapon I've thought to check so far (just went up from 3 at level 36).

My oops! I reported no dmg bonus after checking it on my Druid who was carrying it. Since Druids cannot use it, it showed no bonus. Bonus is +9, quite good! My above comment is withdrawn. This is a magnificent weapon for the price. Might as well sell most other swords to merchants right now.

On Rodcet Nife, the prices seem to be stabilizing at about the following levels:

    Centi SS 400-600pp
    Centi LS 1k-1.5kpp
    Centi warhammer 300-400pp
    Centi warspear 200-350pp
