Ticka, Greatblade of the Ravager  

 

Still miss Ticka after all these years. This year I did the Bloodmoon Fang raid numerous times and finally got the sword. It will have the place of honor on my guild wall.

This post is long overdue. In fact, I thought I had made this post previously, long ago, but apparently not (Seeing as I didn't have an Alla user ident until now ... How did I ever overlook this??)

I am Ticka's real-life Father.

As I reflect on my son's memory at times, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Giddemore, and Lunacy Unbound, for all the repeated attempts, night after night, trying to get this weapon to drop so that Ticka could loot it posthumously.

He wears it proudly, whenever I bring him out briefly from time to time.

I would like to also thank Diligence. They too put in countless hours and nights of effort trying to get this item to drop. It simply turned out that Lunacy got it to drop first. This goes to show how WONDERFUL the Everquest community has been ... is ... will always be ... as a whole. Pitching in to help honor comrades-in-arms, friends, and loved ones.

From our many Lanys T'Vyl server Memento Reejeryn guild members (many of whom are currently retired, as well as some of whom have begun to reappear lately), to current players who have been our real friends through the years, many of whom I have met personally. (Caillech, Kayliee, Tauny, Solvendor, Hawksong, Cindee(Astilbee), Mazarkan, Lavonne, etc ... The list is so long, so many more names ...)

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to the EQ devs who put this item in the game .... To the EQ players who had a hand in influencing the devs to put this item in the game... The day I heard this was announced as going in for the next expansion (The Secrets of Faydwer), I cried. He passed away October 30, 2007 ... Secrets of Faydwer went live November 13, 2007 ... So the devs put this item in on extremely short notice!

Again, thank you so very much to everyone throughout this entire evolution.

I still play, our server mergers through the years have placed me on Tunare server. To the many names who haven't logged in in such a very long time, I do still miss the friendships, chats, and fun we have had together. I'm still playing, and still having fun, with the new friends (and a few of the old ones too!)

Bless you, Everquest community, for having helped me through a very tough time.

It was a phenomeal honor to be able to equip Ticka with this weapon. I never knew ticka well myself but have always heard wonderful things about him. Lunacy Unbound just goes to show you that a family oriented guild can still raid and have an impact on the world!

I would like to have one of these someday, sole for the honor and memory of annoying the crap out of him on a daily basis... Ticka will be missed greatly by me, and everyone.

You can kind of tell what it looks like in the miniature picture next the the name at the top. Just to let people know, this looks EXACTLY like Swiftcleave from demi.

Very sorry to the people that lost Ticka sounds like an awsome and sweet person...its nice to see that this blade is named after him...R.I.P Ticka
