On The Nameless she has been killed more times than I can count. She is not that hard in light of the new PoP mobsand to get right down too it, her guards (massive ents that silence) are probably harder to kill over all cause of the tactics involved in taking them vs. her. She is just a stand a duke it out mob and doesnt even move after you engage even if you stop engaging her. I was raids with Euphoria that killed her 3 times and none of those times did she drop the dagger.
Yes its much much better than the epic(15/25) But the effect on epic(40% haste + 40?atk) makes rogue epic a nice offhand weapon with something like this in mainhand. Killing Tunare is ALOT harder than killing any mobs needed for epics.. thats why its loot is better.
Epic is a great off hand weapon due to the atk bonus and haste... plut 100hp. Most tend to use this as the combo even if they have another godly item... aka khalrazar, or bloodbath, then if you are killing those mobs you can afford to switch out haste items etc etc etc... but for the most part folks. RB in offhand is very practical for the fact of stats and the haste. There are plenty of rogue weapons that take precidence over RB in prim hand. And this is a fine example of one of those.
Im using the Acid Pocked Mithril Blade in primary and RB on offhand. My guild has one of these and hoefully grabbing another today. Id keep this in primary and RB in offhand as I dont have a great haste item aside from epic.
She seems to have this dagger half the time, and at our last kill she had 2 of those.
This weapon is to be used as primary, unless you have an even better ratio weapon than 15/20, and Ragebringer is a very good choice off-hand with it, especially on heavily armoured targets, as in Luclin.
Yea its not so rare at all from what I have noticed so far. Our guild just started killing Tunare (clearing the plane is a huge pain). The other day was the second time we killed her. The first time she dropped 1, the second time she dropped 2. I love this weapon. I put my epic in offhand and go to town.
Max backstab at level 65 with this is 614 damage without disc or crit. The backstab Mod is so nice.
The backstab modifier also increases your minimun backstab damage on your duelist disc. It does a min. of 416 on duelist. Still only 130 (lvl 65 standard) on normal minimum backstab though.
The proc rocks big time. 186 nuke (at level 65) before 65 I think its a 182 proc. If you put some points in Ingenuity(sp) the proc can crit. Ingenuity 1 = 242 crit blast, Ingenuity 2 = 303 crit blast.. not sure on the lvl 3 Ingenuity dont have it yet.
As for normal crits without disc I have hit a 1056 crit as my high so far. Havent hit any good duelist crits yet.
Not to sound snobbish or whatever, but to those who are talking about how good it would be to have the epic in ones offhand... byt he time you get to have a chance at this item, you should already have at least one extra haste item thats faster then the epic. So basically, I havent wielded my epic in many many months 9-/
Uhhh the epic effect is much better than most haste effects out there that and the epic has some very nice additional stats on it... Thorn Primary Epic Secondary is an uber combo.
My guild has several of these, and each rogue uses an epic in their offhand. All of the 41% haste items have gone to warriors, monks, rangers, etc. who were upgrading from 36% haste. /shrug
Indeed, unless your guild kills VT or NToV mobs on a regular basis, you won't see many haste item drops that are better than the RB. With such scarcity, powarog is right--don't expect a rogue to get any kind of loot like that when it DOES drop. Your MT, SA, TA, etc. will all get these 41%+ haste items before you will even garner the most remote consideration. So keep that epic in your offhand and grab one of these other piercers.
/bog Im guessing Calimyr is the only person who posted here who has actually been around when it dropped. I know only 1 guild with help from another (just helped clear PoG) that has killed Tunare. and that was just once. so its possible that MAYBE ONE exists on Torvo, granted on someof the older/faster servers she might be killed more often but DAM, this is waaay more rare and harder to get than epic. heh.
Checked my wishlist magelo profile today.. Saw that the Massive Heartwood Thorn was changed a bit.. 15/20 now and adds 10ac. Nice little change.. hadnt heard anything about it.. but thats what the picture on Magelo says - Hp also adds 75 now instead of 50

Nah, the proc is a straight 182 point nuke, with no debuffing effect or anything else to provide extra taunt. Considering that 182 points is about 1/3 of a good backstab, it's really just small potatoes.
not at all, it was 12-16. Then it was nerfed to 11/17 and the proc on it was reduced to a 1/4 of its previous power. Not 15/19, that would be pretty much the same as ragebringer; which with the 40% haste is around 15-18 (correct me if i'm wrong). Although the proc is would be highly resisted and pretty much useless in upper encounters this dagger is very(very, very) good.
There is two Mrylo's daggers (blood dagger and Vengeance Dagger) BOTH are uber and insane especially if you were to OFFHAND the ragebringer With the Mrylo's Dagger of vengeance(15/19)and then add the haste from ragebringer omg you got like a 15/12 or something like that. 15/12 = uber agro = death to rogue.
Actually the proc on Mrylokar's is not the original effect (a 100HP Lifetap) but instead is a 90 HP DoT Lifetap over three ticks. Nothing to complain about of course...
