Ninja Looted This
# Apr 23 2003 at 1:25 PM Rating: Decent
When i was level 24, at the werewolf gm event in WC last summer on Ayonae Ro, I watched some high levels kill a werewolf overlord. After somebody looted some awesome pally sleeves, and a warrior wep, with 20 other people around, i ninja looted this idol. Let's just say i was quite happy as it proved my superior ninja looting skills :)
Dropped off a Greater Werewolf

Picked one of these up from a Greater Werewolf in WC during the Halloween Event for 2002 yesterday. Finally, something to replace my Testament of Vanear, which has served me so well through 30 seasons now. Just wanted to state that it was not dropping only off of boss mobs, at least not this year.

I know at least 2 of them dropped inside of a half hour off of Greater Werewolves, cuz someone gave a shout minutes after I took mine down with the loc of another, saying it was on another Greater Werewolf.

I say there will always be jerks in the world but unlike some of the other posters you are not. Looting the idol doesn't make you a wrong person and if you asked and they said nothing then it is their fault. The GM events where for the whole server not just a group if they were showing the right spirit of the GM event they should have shouted about the idol. I tore me up some mobs in EK while it was going on and if i couldn't use it i shouted what it was and the loc. If i friend need it i stayed in loot and told people what was up. If my friend couldn't make it in time i let somebody else have it. But early on in the event i learned people weren't playing nice. The first time i saw the overlord killed the first person into his corpse stayed there telling us all his drops and then let the corpse rot so we couldn't get them. I also know of alot of people looting stuff for other classes and junk. They should have told you what was up you helped spawn the snake (i am betting) and so had a right to get in on some of the loot. If they had a wis caster in the group i would say other wise but as things lay now you did fine.

Hahaha stupid noobies. NO you shouldn't have looted it. And being anonymous, you are a gimp cleric and a prick. You aren't worthy of playing the class. Why would you be anonymous? Afraid someone might ask you for a revive? lol go to hell

While I can't agree with the language and tone of the post under the name of Prefectmithmarr, I do have to agree with the general sentiment expressed. It was not yours to take. Looting of the idol was wrong. You have no idea if they had a guildmate, friend, or alternate, for that matter, rushing to the zone to loot this item. Furthermore, if they chose to let it rot, that's their choice to make.

Well, actually, no, it's not their choice. Verant put a loot timer on corpses. Any non-looting of the corpse is a courtesy that players show each other, hard as that is to believe. After the two minutes is up, that's exactly what it is, a courtesy. It's not up to any group or single player to decide something will rot, and get pissed if someone else loots it, but no one in your group can use it. That's a load of crap if I ever heard one.

I would assume you're telling the truth... unlike some.

Sounds to me like you did the right thing. I went over to loot the Overlord in WC once and saw some +8 STR SK shoulders, along with some other minor stats. Given that it's Sullon and the evil team was in control of the zone, and that we have so many SKs, you'd THINK somebody would have looted it, but it rotted. Also, for those that don't know, getting items is a lot harder on Sullon... my lvl 35 SK friend has like 2 pieces of darkforge, with the rest mostly bronze and some banded, though he is newbie.

GTF outa here !!YEA RIGHT NO CLERIC SHAMAN DRUIDS???! during a freaking GM event your a ninja looter and bser on top of it i think that the group that killed it also have the right to call upon a member of their own guild to loot it if they wish. As for the shoulders you really dont know what happened to them because no-doubt you ran your greedy little thief *** to the zone. dont tell me your concerned about anything but yourself. F the shoulders anyhow .consent me!!please!! I'll drag your corpse to the feet of some sleeping dragon!! /d !! /D /D /D ahole

This is better than testament of vanear or charred guardian shield, in fact it's got the advantages of both.

your right about the testament being worse, but i got this last night and i use this in primary and CGS in secondary, altogether 5 hours in EK has taken my wis from 133 to 151 in 4 items. w00t!

Did you get it off the main guy, or a random drop. I don't have enough high level friends to whack the main baddie, but have patience if it drops from anything else. Man, I'd love to have this.

The Werewolf Overlord just went down in WC, and there was a crowd around him. Someone was nice enough to give a loc, so I found my way to it running frantically with my loc hotkey clicking away, heh. There was a priest class item on him that no one had taken. People were sitting on the loot for a long time, so it was frustrating. But, no one looted the last item. I kept clicking like mad, accidently inspecting the people who pushed in front of me, but I kept at it. Finally, I was in and I saw this doll thing, and for some reason I was expecting a shoulder piece? LOL I have no idea why, but that's how I read the ooc in the flurry of messages.

I checked the doll and saw it was priest class item, and then I recognized it was the Idol, an event item I never thought I'd get, and I was like OMG! I looted it. Thanks everyone before me for not looting and destroying it, thanks for getting out of loot mode when the item wasn't for your class, and thanks for the loc over ooc.

Woot! :)

This item dropped in WC off the Werewolf Overlord. (the boss mob -- killing him despawns all the rest of the werewolves) I got the kill, doing about 8200 dmg to it. (Another guy claimed he did over 3k dmg, so not sure how much hp he had)

My group was in EK and we whacked this guy a bunch of times. He did drop this idol a good deal of the time, but he also dropped a warrior only sword that is yet to be listed. I'm gonna try to post this if I can :P

It's kinda nice, name is "Runeblade of the Night"

This would seem to be a pretty nice item, +9 Wis and +25 mana to boot. The AC and save are both just gravy on top, 'cuz this seems to be a fairly nice item. Have not played a WIS caster that high, but are there better things out there for you all? What other relatively easily attainable options do you all have that beat this?
RE: Wow...
# Nov 04 2001 at 11:35 AM Rating: Default
Honestly, not a whole helluva lot. Since this event went live I have seen a LOT of 50-60 people (including myself, 57 cleric) runnin around with a little totem in their hand now :)

Probably the closest comparable item for main hand would be the paw of opolla, which carries NEGATIVE disease resists. I would (and do) choose this over paw, and I don't see much else I care to have until I am holding my epic.

I guess this would be nice for secondary too, but there are tons of nice shields for offhand that this would not replace.

This dropped on Mith Marr from the GM event in nro. It dropped from the spawned giant snake, Tishe Virm. He dropped 2 other items along with it. My wife got this idol though. He was blue to 57, so dont know exact lvl

This Idol was a fairly common drop from the head baddie in EK for the Halloween event, KeVagen the Dreaded. He was a fairly easy kill for a solid group of 6, 45th level+. He summoned, dotted and used a good Lifetap-type spell. We dropped him probably 6 times, and the Idol dropped 3 times.

Aye, I got one of these from KeVagon.

Saw about 6 or 7 drop from him, these and the Int caster neck/book seemed to be his most common drops.
