If you are in a raid that is done RIGHT and you are not the Main Tank you should never get hit. Therefore if you need sv magic and hp for a raid this would be a great item.
ie Gorenaire. any Sv magic against her helps for the fearing. The added hp helps from the AOE damage also.
no offense, but there are disadvantages to every class and, unfortunately for rangers, it is their job to go down alot. in return they get to outdamage warriors slightly with dual wield, track, SoW, snare, nuke, DoT, buff, light heal, etc.
i will give you the benefit of the doubt and hope that you are just good at aggro management, but when u get those extras, yer bound to have a few extra corpses in yer wake.
i respect rangers, but they DO die alot, and in my opinion, and that's NOT what gives them a "bad name". It's pretty noble actually to do your job no matter the risk, and not run away liek a scared lil girl every time a tank goes down, or heal a bit when the cleric is OOM, or to take a beating tryin to snare a mob to save the group and sacrificing only yourself. (whatever the situation).
so, yes, in my opinion rangers DO die alot, but they are quite useful nonetheless. i would say it is rare to find a ranger that dies less than other tanks unless he is either a coward, or he simply has simply never been in a group that pushed itself to its limits.
every class is gonna hafta take some ribbing, so just do it gracefully and not get all pissed about small jokes. the "dyin ranger" thing has been around since the dawn of EQ and likely wont stop here...
I'm always one of the last ones to run to the zone when the group flees. I rarely ever get hit (even when I cast Snare and Immolate, thanks to Jolt) unless I'm taunting an add off the chanter (which I can do much quicker than a warrior, thanks to Snare). Even before blessed Jolt, I died less than once per level. Why? Because I can play well, and I kick out any member or leave any group who keeps pulling when the cleric and chanter say "OOM."
Many people say that dying is part of the game. While I admit, it certainly does happen to everyone every once in a while, if it happens a lot (say, 3 times per level, barring big raids which don't count), you're just lazy.
Yeah, I see why you are Anon. I die less than most of the warriors, Pally's and SK's I run into. Get a life and instead of bashing Rangers, why don't you learn how to play one? Then again, this class isn't for those just want to stand there and get beat on without using their heads...
Rangers are hard to play, most players SUCK as Rangers. Therefore Rangers get a bad name. If you had ever seen a Ranger played well, you might think a bit differently.
Hrm, let me see. This item would work very well for all classes that aren't melee. It would work well for Hybrids, as long as they don't aggro too much. It would work ok for Melees that aren't main/secondary assist.
That means it'd be ok for pretty much every class in the game, as long as you aren't getting hit a whole lot.
Sad that all these people are calling this crap. You guys obviously have no idea that there are other classes in the game that can and will use this earring.
Maybe you could talk a caster into wearing this but I don't any tank or hitter that is gonna take a hit like that to his/her ac. I play a monk and I have a hard enough time accumulating ac as it is. Before you say I shouldn't be getting hit anyways since I'm not the main tank it's a long run back to the group. :)

I could see someone that already has max AC wearing this, but then again if you have Max AC (and 15 AC to spare after you loose an earring) you probably have a better earring than this too.
