this item still drop? i posted a coulpe days ago on the mobs thread. finally started seeing him. so far i've gotten a bag full of nathsar bracers, and a couple of the fancy velvet mantles (couple more rotted) still waiting on the BoRS. is it listed as an ultra-rare drop or something? im about to give up :( heh. nostalgia be damned...
I got 49 last night in dawnshrowd, thing started procing like crazy, (dex is 134 unbuffed), the stun was great and the dd was cool to, but just wanted to say it proced and 49 :)
I got one of these tonight on the rathe server for only 7k! And it was quite a deal seeing how two others were selling for 9k. Its a nice weapon but im not sure if the proc will be as useful for me as it might be for others. Im plannin on sellin it for 8k and buying a Fist of Iron for about 9k.

I'm sorry Xenolich, that is NOT how damage bonus is applied. A damage bonus of 5 is not added to the weapons damage/dly. Saying that would be like saying okay... windblade is 50/44 but it has a damage bonus of 39 making it 89/44. Give me a break here, where do people come up with this stuff. Simply is is the amount of damage you apply to each hit... so if you are hitting for 1 damage with your weapon it is actually 1+5 and you hit for 6 damage. If you hit for 30 with the weapon, it is 30+5 and you hit for 35 damage. That is why damage bonus on 2hs makes such a big difference over time. You hit with your windblade for 184 damage and you actually hit for 184+39 and hit for 225 damage. That is how damage bonus works. Nice post Xenolich...
Wondering why this weapon is great? Look at the proc this way, The Proc stuns a mob for 6 seconds, basically pausing his ability to do any damage during that period. If your still thinking "Ok.. I'd rather have my wavecrasher or other big DD proc'ing weapon"... Look at it this way, Your stun proc is like a DD, allowing you free damage for 6 seconds. In a group, with 3 to 4 tanks, this can be 1000's of damage... As a monk solo it's easily hundreds of damage.. As a beastlord, it's potentially 100's of damage from you and your pet, or just long enough to step back, cast your 450 Nuke, and jump back in... 450dd, plus whatever damage your pet does in 6 seconds.. potentially a few hundred damage.. it can near 1000 damage in those 6 seconds... THATS why I love this weapon, Get a adamantite club to go with it, as a monk, or a Sarnak warhammer, as a beastlord... Lotsa fun :-) Btw, with Beastlord's Dex Buffs, and haste buffs, these weapons can be AMAZING on stunnable mobs...
I've read the posts a couple times and the only thing I was able to find regarding which level this weap procs is that it proc'd for someone at 49. Does anyone know if it will proc any sooner than that?
I was going all out to save for fungi, then I heard about the upcoming monk defence nerf. That night, pre-nerf, I went straight to bazaar and picked up adamantite club and baton of royal stature to replace my epic fist/SoS combo. Took 21k of the fungi fund, but I'm guessing it'll keep me solo viable and the the weapons the themselves are likely to keep/increase in value with the nerf.
Oh, and aggro? In a group I'll just use the IFS as always, and as always if I want/need aggro I will switch to dual wield.
I just bought one of these bad boys. Right now I am equipped with this in my primary and a Stave of Shielding in my secondary. Weight is not so bad as its only 4 stone with both these weapons and as an Iksar that helps me out big time with my AC. Now I plan to eventually replace my SoS with an adamantite club. Yea peeps keep saying you will get too much aggro. Well I am confident that my FD will work, if not I will die but I know I am going to enjoy stunning the crap out of mobs. Right now I am only lvl 49 and this thing just started proccing. Someone also said something about mobs of a certain level remembering you and coming after you when you get up from FD. Well I figure by the time I am doing some of those big mobs that I will have run3 or something and outrun them to the zone. ANyway if I am in a raid my MA and SA better be whomping the hell outta the mob while I am layed out on the floor.
So its just my opinion but Baton of Royal Stature and Adamantite club is a kickass combo, at least for those of us that can't get to NTOV and get the uber drops there. 11/22 with stunning blow and 15/25 with stunning blow. Throw in a haste item and celerity and you are a friggin weedeater from the abyss!
The combo you speak of sounds great for soloing, but I bet you will end up liking 2hb much better in raids and a lot of groups... At 54 and using a IFS I hit for multiple times over 150 and up to 215 per cycle not to mention kicks... This is of course with raid hastes and shammy buffs etc.
Soloing or duoing with a cleric, when I don't have those buffs, 2hb is rougher, and 1hb or h2h is nice... and I am getting taunt anyhow - so a combo like you mentioned is perfect. I am here looking for info for that same reason.

Well I took a look at one in game and it's usable by ALL classes that can be Monks and Beastlords! I also saw one going for 8k in the auction chat. I cant wait to get one! I also saw a Stave of Shielding going for 4kpp from the same seller.
you bought it on 3/23...for how much? it seems like this weapon should not be selling for that much--i mean, it's got the same ratio as a KD, weighs the same; but it does have a nice proc, it's faster, and it seems it has an awesome look =) I'm guessing it goes for 5-10k
Got mine last night (3/23) , it looks like a huge staff and an eye on it. I replaced it from my Sarnak Warhammer ( 9 20 eff 3sec stun). I want get Adm Club , Guess this will be an awesome combination.
It is indeed an awsome combo, i used it for some time. However, if your not soloing / duoing / tanking in some form, your just gonna end up pissing your group off, because stuns are rather large taunts.
Feign Death has been considerably nerfed lately. MoBs are less tricked then some patches ago. Normally you just FD and the MoB starts to hit the other tanks, but now they actually continue hitting you. I don't know if VI nerfed it because it was a too big advantage for Monks, but I do know it is not like it was before.
Also you must remember that MoBs over level 32 have a big chance to remember you when you stand up, unless you do a successful mem wipe.
I've had that problem where the mob just keeps hitting me even when FD works while I'm laying there , but I've been thinking its lag , maybe not though. You have to turn auto attack off and then FD ..usually you turn attack off and FD , but if your lagging EQ didnt get the attack off processed before you FDed and if your lagging pretty bad it could take awhile for it to process. Maybe im wrong , but thought that was because of lag ...would be quite annoyed if it is a verant nerf, FD already has a chance to fail , would be annoying if they mobs have a chance to see thru it also .
Ok, in case anyone wants to know (I didn't see anyone asking but i know i came here tryin to find out once or twice when i first got my baton) This weapon procs at lvl 49. For those of you saying it is not a good weapon I will have to correct you. it is a very good weapon. So far i love it. At lvl 49 I still solo for much of my xp and i have yet to try it out in a group, but solo this weapon rocks and i see no reason why it would not be any good in a group. The stun proc would give plenty of time for the nice warriors and whatever other tanks you got with you to regain aggro. on a raid situation i imagine the stun proc will RULE cause you need to interrupt all those nasty spells like CH/AE's/Lifetaps/etc.
Of course i suppose that you are all entitled to your opinions. So uh...don't go get one if you don't like it. But for those of us who have used it and like it or who really wanna use it, we'll enjoy it.

Well once again some big dreamer posted and didnt know what was up well so being a monk that has this combo and has been on a few raids i will inform you that it is true that most raid worthy mobs CANT be stunned atleast with theese sticks it says when the proc lands THIS MONSTER IS IMMUNE TO THE STUN PORTION OF THIS EFFECT. so go on a few raids try some stuff and figure out what works and what doesnt work before you go spamming about someones miss information
actually this wouldnt count as a melee stun since its a proc and therefore a spell(it does a check on magic resist). and also alot of raid worth mobs can not be stuned with anything, BUT stun spells can actually interrupt their casting weather they are stunable or not. IE: it gives you the message this mobs is immune to the stun portion of this spell, but below it is says %t casting is interrupted. so if this weapon proc'd on a mob while they were casting it would not stun them but interrupt the spell.
This is an underestimated weapon. The 6 second stun is rarely resisted. When I group, the main tank has usually re-aquired agro well before the stuns wear off. I am very happy I managed to get one. :) I retired my trance stick after getting this (sure, trance stick procs a sleightly more damage spell, but it's resisted more and generates more taunt. Having the long stun of the baton is enough time for main tank to get back on top of agro.) With this and trance stick being same ratio, this baton is a far far supirior weapon.
This is a slightly downgraded version of the Adamantite Club, which I use in conjunction with my Sceptre of Mastery. I'm contemplating getting one of these to replace Sceptre occasionally, and should work like a dream.
Adamantite Club: 15/25 Effect: Stunning Blow Drops in Charasis (West Wing I believe off Spectral Sepulchre).
Baton of Royal Stature: 11/22 Effect: Stunning Blow Chardok off Observer Aq'touz.
Sceptre Of Mastery: 13/21 +6sta +6agi Kael Arena off Bjrakor the Cold (FUN pull!!)
Agreed. I have only knuckledusters to compare it too, but at 54 I am thrilled. With various haste and dex buffs on me most of the time, this procs often during fights. Its quite nice to pound on something for 6 seconds while it just stands there, especially when the proc goes off again :)
Quite honestly, I am also seeing a great deal more overall damage independent of the proc. I am grateful to have been given this fine item.
Trance stick is 7/18, this is 11/22 not the same ratio. Baton is much better ratio than trance. Trance would have to have 9 dmg instead of 7 to be same ratio.
I believe this weapon is decent, except for the proc. or any procing weapons for monks for that matter. well, damage dealing procs that is. monks really don't want the agro when doing raids, thats what tanks are for. monks are there for damage only, same with rogues. we have lower ac and hps which means we can dish it out, but can't take that much. procs on weapons raise agro alot and take it away from tankards. we do damage fast enough as it is, why do we need a proc to add to it and get ourselves killed? besides, at lvl 48, ill be quading in the 40's with my fists like my friend is right now and like i am right now at 36 with my KD's.
Dragin Monk of the 36th Cloth Pain Mercinaries of Silence The Rathe
Please tell me you're joking.. I'm serious... I'll give your noobie **** some plat if you do.... This is decent? from a lvl 36? /sigh, i guess I'll just get into why it's more than 'decent except for the proc'
Okay, you're half right that mnks are in raids for damage, but we also pull, and if you pull often, you know that we need hp and ac for splitting, meaning, if we draw a little agro in a fight, we can prolly manage, as we just took some hits from it when we pulled and then brought it back and fd'd off agro to MT, if you draw agro, just fd it off... also, when u say we have lower ac and hp, yes, true to an extent, but a low 50's monk, which is the minimum lvl you would be able to get this, can sometimes out tank the low 50's tanks, in fact, at 51-53 so far, in about 1/2 the groups i get in karnors (/sigh, still need pawbuster, after that im gone) and mabey 1/6 the groups in velks, i'm the tank, 977ac and im a human, if you're an iksar, it's a lot more. now.. on to your beef wiht the proc..... IT'S THE BEST PART! stuns = interrupting casting = no CH/uber ae nuke/heals/GATE(big reason for most raid wipeouts)/other_cheap_spell being cast, and if by chance you draw agro from that, just push that little key that i hope you have made by now that says 'Feign Death' it's a usefull little toy, here's what it does, it makes the mob think you're... DEAD! it stops attacking you then =) Take this to heart little one=P
Desten Southpaw 53 Monk on Bertox server Member of Nihil
I am going to have to agree with ya here Desten. What is this lvl 36 guy talking about. Quadding with his fists when in the 40's. Hey we monks are great with our fists and all. But not compared to a 11/22 weapon with a damage bonus of 4. Now as far as us monks having crappy ac and hp. Well unbuffed I got about 1700 unbuffed. Buffed its at about 2400 with some nice cleric buffs. My AC is 1022 unbuffed. So tell me again how crappy our ac and hp are? Granted hp not as high as a pure melee class but don't tell me I can't hold my own.

Plz send tell if you would like to sell
Excellent weapon. Picked one up, traded over 14k of stuff for it, and it was well worth it. Ratio is great, 11 damage is a nice number and the delay is quick. The weight is fantastic, I have been searching for a lightweight unique 1hb for long and this fits the criteria like a glove. Proc is nice as well, has yet to be resisted. If you think this is worth less than 10k you are mistaken. Verant has been pumping out some very excellent weaponry so far, can't wait for Luclin!
Any reason why people say only 4k no more for this? same ratio as a jade mace (little higher dmg and delay but not much to make a 6k diff)plus its lighter and has stun...just dont see why it would sell for less than a jade mace...anyone see something i dont?

ummmm.... this weapon, 11/22. Wu's Trance stick, 7/18. Shouldn't even have to think about the procs to figure out that the baton is the superior weapon. And since monks suffer greatly from the lack of ability to stun/interrupt mobs, this makes the baton a much more valuable weapon in a good monk's ******** And just because you can't afford the weapon, doesn't mean it's ridiculously priced =) There are plenty of good reasons why these sell for 10k plus, and trance sticks for 1k..... the stick you can get with a party of 40s and drops off multiple mobs in city o mist, while the baton drops off a single rare spawn in Chardok, and requires a good 50 plus group.
