i have 25 rogue in newbie server today i was looking around sol a for group....and we was route to forman's room he was on the way it was easy drop for full group and he drops shard and boots...i won the shard dont know what happen to boots anyway i use the shard on goblins and message saying they resist effects must be fire based effects....it is cool for newbies i guess...post me if anyone use on sol a goblins and effects actually have effect on mob
These seem to average 25 plat in the Xev bazaar - picked one up for my ranger, but then got a crookstinger blade as well now - 60 dot poison effect - until I get my peircing up, looking like that's going to beat this sucker out for my secondary weapon.
With new troll cultural smithing a troll can turn this baby into a 14/26 (Polished Obsidian Shard) not sure about the race class information, but it's probably: warrior paladin ranger shadowknight rogue. This might raise the price of this baby a little more once troll smiths start becoming common (yea, like thats ever gonna happen) Anyways....u might wanna look into selling this for a bit more to a troll, he might be smithing....

The Polished Obsidian Shard is usable by the same classes, so casters still eligible. The effect still procs at 16 I believe, at least it was proccing at 42 (below the recommended level for the polished shard).
Quite a nice little piercer, and finally a proc so I don't feel like my rogue is wasting his dex.

This effect is difficult to proc and almost impossible to stick, at least on creatures in SOL a (they might have an abnormally high fire resist, although my Burning Rapier had no problems roasting the mobs). My level 40 rogue with 164 dex had this item proc/stick an average of 1:5000 swings (once per night). Good luck!

Hence why it would rarely stick to anything in either sol dungeons or lavastorm ;) Give it a few pokes in other zones (hehe test it in perma!) before giving up on it.

Nope, the place to test it I think is a duel with a troll or some troll NPC (If u can find one), trolls start with 5 svfire after all...I never like to duel casters because of this.

I have this item, and I know that it can do a 30pt DD when it hits, but I also know it has an effect beyond this, only because I see a message "Your Obsidian Shatter effect has worn off."
Does this also do a DoT or a debuff of some sort?

not a dot, but reduces mobs ac by 6
