The legends say that Marnek wrote tomes of powerful magics and even created items of great power, the most notable being the Dagger of Marnek and the Wand of the Burning Dead. But it is more than legend. Marnek truly does possess vast knowledge and power and those legendary items do in fact exist. Marnek spent many years of his life at the forefront of a reign of terror on Norrath. Perhaps his greatest enemies were the paladins of Prexus, the Oceanlord. They fought many battles and it was thought that the paladins put an end to Marnek -- and that is where the legend begins and the truth became veiled.
