~ Murder in our Midst! ~
It has just been verified that during the attack on Neriak, Bortar Ripkiller was killed. As many of you
| already know, Bortar Ripkiller was the leader of the Clan Grobb Trolls that have been allowed to reside here in Neriak for the time being. They have been living within our city ever since the Frogloks defeated them in their own home of Grobb.
Little information has been
|
| available about the incident, but the few witnesses that have spoken with us report seeing a band of adventurers in the Foreign Quarter. Not much at all is known about the band of adventurers or their reasons for the recent murder, but their actions will certainly have consequences here in
| Neriak.
The leaderless Trolls threaten to riot. Many of the weak-minded masses of flesh have claimed that it is our fault that their leader was killed, as if defending him was one of our duties. It is interesting to note that Bortar had recently
|
| returned to Neriak from travels on Luclin with his elite troops. Those troops were slobbering around in the Foreign Quarter when their leader was murdered and the Signal is willing to place blame for allowing a small band of adventurers within arms reach of their leader squarely on the shoulders of his own
| guards.
The Indigo Brotherhood assures us that the Troll problem will not get out of hand and that plans have already been made to deal with any real violence that might break out. For now citizens are asked to stay out of the Foreign Quarter unless their business there
|
| is important.
