Scars of VeliousJust got this to drop tonight, heh no one wanted it! Finally the lil SK we had wi' us took it when we poked and prodded him enough.
Had no effect on it, guess they must have removed whatever they planed for it. Eb would have been preferable, but I guess since every other drop in here has EB they thought it best to make something without it :)

The last item I remember seeing that was marked like that was a grimy lance or something like that thaat droped in the old CT. I later turned out it was needed for a quest that was implemented in Stonebrunt Mountains when that zone went up. Maybe there is a quest out there that no one has figured out yet or posted about that this is used in.

What drops this item? As a woodelf ranger who is tired of seeing that yellow bar flee everytime I draw my wurmslayer this is like an answered prayer! What drops it in SG and more importantly is it realistic for a 40 ranger to group there? If i got this I would frolic like only a wood elf can for weeks!

No, I wouldn't recommend going to Siren's Grotto at level 40 no matter your class. This place is deep into Velius between Cobolt Scar and Western Wastes. A group of 54+ can handle themselves there. I would however like to know what mobs drop this. If I had to take a stab in the dark, I'd say it's a very rare random drop.

I think this is a great item for a druid, i have a low base wis because when i started i was a new player, but last night i was allowed to come along to SG and lead the 4th group, if one of those dropped i wouldve rolled on it even though most of the other players wouldnt because they are all 50+ i think this thing would be my Obsidien Bone Hoop any day of the week.

Was able to obtain one of these yesterday evening...
Petitioned a GM on the Item as the Effect was not given. I was told that the Effect they originally gave the item created a game imbalance, and that a new effect for the item was scheduled for a future patch.
Take it for what you will... still wouldnt tell me what new effect was going to be.

It says there is an Effect on this item, yet it was taken out by the submitter for some reason. I can only guess that it is Enduring Breath as everything in this zone has that effect. I am very curious though what it is. The effect is what could make this item great, not just good.

Many items have 'effect' and no effect. Verant makes a mistake and the guy making the item leaves that field in with nothing (generally not supposed to have one, just too lazy or made the mistake of leaving the field there). See it a ton if you look through many items pics.

This earring adds 54 hps for a 60 warrior, vs the 35 hps of a Black Sapphire Electrum Earring. Thats pretty good if you ask me.

Tanks who already have 1100+ AC or int caster or druids who already have high int / wis (cleric and shaman probably want a little better AC)

I just want to know WHY this is crap? I can see SK's liking something like this. A lot of tanks seem to settle on Orc Fang Earrings (at least on the Rathe), and this is a nice alternative for SK's.
The Orc Fang has ac 3 +3 str +15 hp so they lose 3 str (wow) and 15 hp (plus losing 1ac) for the bonus hp from the sta as well as mana from that little extra int.
I can see a definite benefit to that class at least. And no, I dont play a SK - just giving one argument as to why it shouldnt necesarily be seen as crap.
If you cant post something worthwhile for these items then go look for something that you DO like. Or go play that game that is better than EQ. Or are we still waiting for it?

What a hoot, Verants quality control and attention to detail have always been problematical but so many people take it personally when an error is made. For over 2 years those same people have been saying "When game_ _ _ __ comes out you will be sorry". Grow up people, it is a damn good game. Either play it and shut up or just shut up.
