Dropped by "a Pickclaw destroyer".
Once you get duel weild, Try this as your primary and the silvery war axe as your off hand. Do to the low delay of the war axe your duel weild skill will go quickly

If you can't find it in the Bazaar, go to PoK and /ooc that you're wanting to buy this sword. Ask if anyone has one rotting in the bank or on an alt. Try it when PoK is crowded, and even then you might have to be persistent. But I got one for free this way! I was willing to pay, but the person just gave it to me - plus a couple of nice pieces of armor.

I find that this in secondary with icetooth's claws as my prime it is a devastating combination for low-mid levels My lvl 16 war is dual weilding this and it RoXoRs :)) Just my 2cp l8rs
I agree. I use the same combo on my 16 WAR and it works beautifully. The only thing I find disappointing is that it doesn't have any special graphic, but for what I get out of it, I'll live.

i let three of these rot one day as they are lore and i already had one...did several shouts to the zone to see if anyone wanted and not one bite...go figure :(

Spent a night off from hi lvl raiding to farm some black alloy armor for my alts and to make newbies happy. Forgot this and Babs also in zone. Lord Picklaw constantly wields either this or Babs. Black alloy coif IMHO is best item in runneyeye. insane to see 6sv all helm in a 25-30 lvl zone. Lord drops coif about 1 in 3 chances. Also see this on battle lord paluk on occasion. After killing Battle wizard Ulak I have yet to find anything of value on him.
Also notice black alloy tunic drops more frequently than any other armor piece. U would think with highest AC it would be most uncommon. But shoulder/legs seem to be the most rare.
I used this armor set from lvl 1-20. My pk strategy was to hideout in dark areas around blackburrow/everfrost area. Barbarians runnin from BB to bank their loot had a hell of a time seeing my halfling rog. player spins around for a looksee and i would time a bs just right.

Best chance of getting one of these is to go to the bottom floor and pull and kill Pickclaw DESTROYERS. My group managed to get 3 of these in a 1 hour session down there. Not exactly a common drop but we weren't exactly wetting ourselves everytime one dropped
Acts as a lightsource, same intensity and colour tint as a Greater Lightstone...
Looks like a_longsword, same as any rusty, bronze or finesteel longsword out there using the old-world longsword graphic. Black with grey edges? Honestly, do you guys think before you hammer away at your keyboard like a chimpanzee on crack?

None of the prices I've seen on this site even remotely reflect what I've paid for things on my server, The Nameless, I paid 10pp for an Obsidian scimitar (though I believe that was mostly the kindness of a stranger -- still have it :) ), I paid 12 pp and an HQ Bear pelt for a Runic Carver, and received a shaped Ashen bow w/silk (again mostly the kindness of a stranger --still have the Carver, gave the bow to another aspiring Ranger ), and now, I just bought this blade for 30 pp, from a player who was hawking his goods in GFay. No favors here, I believe I paid near what the market was bearing, plus or minus. The player seemed to be experienced, and was far traveled, go figure.

Most of the prices I've seen here are good on the server I play on (Innoruuk). Actually there is a lot of price gouging that goes on and I've used the prices posted here to wrangle most people down. I had been trying to buy BA for my rogue and it was just too expensive for me. A few nights ago some person sold me the Ba armplates, Legplates, Mail and waistband for 1pp per AC. That was a great deal. Of course the guy had bags of the stuff that he was selling so I guess he could afford to drop it that cheap.

hay friend, just to let you know you are on the most twinked server in the game.. everything on allakhazams is about 300 % high for our server, except for the REALY high end stuff. So unless you are looking to buy gear from dragons, you can pretty much divide the prices here by 3 or 4. just so you know, and welcome to the nameless.

You think thats Nice...try equiping the Blackened Alloyed Longsword and A Suit of Gnome Skin Armour and see what can poison ya then..Not to much lol speaking from experience.

I got mine from a merchant in the Bazaar who didn't even con amiable for only 84 plat. Gotta wonder about them merchants sometimes.

Sure crystallized blade is better, for sk or pally. For anyone else, its useless, since they can't use it. The new Centi Longswords are better than any of these, but not everyone has 1k to spend on a sword. BTW, the reason the "idiot lowbie" gave you a babs is probably because he's someone's alt, and his main can waltz into runnyey any day and pick one up. He was doing you a favor, and you call him an idiot. Go figure.

One cool thing about this sword, especially for barbs and humans and others (are there any?) without night vision is that it is a light source. Just another helpful bonus of this sword.
Errr im using this and wak of the frozen skies, i switch them around a LOT. it's good for damage, i hit for 20 with it and delay is ok, sometimes ill put the wak in offhand, but since it has less a chance to proc(my dex is pretty nice so it procs a lot) i keep the BALS in offhand. btw im a ranger so i hope this helps rangers a little.

I'm looking for a good graphic black bladed sword. Is the graphic for this the standard original longsword graphic with color changes, or something better? Also, anyone know of a good graphic black bladed sword a paladin can use for higher levels?

Got one of these last night and it doesn't look like a normal longsword, it looks like a bronze sword.. this may be a SoL addition don't know because I can't remember what bronze looked like before SoL. it's a nice sword and hits in mid twenties and is fast, I thoroughly recommend the trip to RE citadel to get this weapon for mid 20s chars.
Looks like any other longsword. I really hope SoL gives us some more assorted weapon graphics. Most midlevel characters still look like they just looted rusty weapons for their equipment.

i bought my blackened alloy longsword for 75pp in ec and paid around 350pp for my crystallized sword. i say they are very similar in stats only bal has 3 poison, and much cheaper..hey i`ve sold my cystallized sword now and got myself a wurmslayer cool eh....bye
seems to be a rare drop. spent just over 10 hours in RunnyEye today and never saw ONE. saw three or four BABS and a lot of BI/BA armor, but no Longsword. what gives?

Try to kill the Battlelord or the Lord. They seem to have the best drop rate on the BALS.

Does this sound like a good combo for my Ogre Warrior? Wurmy in primary and this is secondary. I think it would be good because Wurmslayer has really good damage and this has good delay and damage.

Well, it's what I'm using (Wurmy and this), and it's been treating me pretty well. ^_^ It was this or a Crystalline Sword, and I liked the look of this. Surprisingly, the poison resist helps. *shrug* But that's just my 2cp ^_^

I traded a blood stained dagger for this sword. I honestly didn't know what it was but my Ranger couldn't use the dagger and this sword was second slot equip (my primary is icetooth claws). I believe this weapon is becoming more common place. It's still nice though.

Well, does anyone have a pic of what this beast looks like? I use a Berserker along with a Blade of Fiery Lag and/or a PGT. Im 35 and kinda want a better weapon, and someone mentioned it as "cosmetic issue." Cool looks is just a bonus, but I wanna know what it looks like. =)

When equiped it looks like a longsword but colored black with grey edges. Pretty nice. Now t get myself one=)
Pardon? My warrior has one and it looks like a rusty longsword. Typical grey blade, typical hilt. Nothing exciting at all. Not that it should matter since it drops on the old world, but I'm fully patched in all the expansions and it still looks like a rusty longsword.
