Ive had both and the Mith IS MUCH BETTER end of story.
Also the price on the mith is still around 1kp where as this took AGES to sell on and I only got 150pp and a Crystalized Sword for it. IE: its common as muck and the price will crash any day now.
The value of a weapon is a simple formula:
(Dmg*2)+1 / (Dly/10)
With the Haste the Mith comes out on top easy. The only thing to consider is the wt, which may suit those smaller warriors.

I think this sword, even if it isn't better than some of the expensive stuff like mith 2Hander, will none the less drive down prices for most 2HS weapons. Yesterday I got one for 150pp, and today I asked a guy what he was charging and he said 475pp, then I told him I paid 150pp and he said he only paid 350pp for the one he had. The price will drop, but until the (rich) twinks figure that out, anyone who can afford one can buy it and jack up the price for a nice profit.

Isn't this just a bit ridiculous? This is arguably the best 2 hander short of kunark, far better than exe or dark reaver, and unbelievably easy to get, and yet the low levels it was intended for STILL don't get it because the entire bloody zone is now constantly PhArMeD. Just shows what happens when you load a zone with high end items with no regard for the results economically.

Hey we low levels DO get it! I got one using my level 10 rogue. (It's amazing how much you can loot while just waiting for some guy that just needs one more item to get the entire blackened alloy set to kill something that has a lore item such as this sword on it that he already has and looting it when he doesn't want to.)
The BA Medallion is a great piece but as for the sword, there are much better ones out there and for the rest of the stuff in runnyeye...well it is far from "high end".

Unless there is a plan to upgrade most if not all dungeons. I hear Lady Vox is planing on doing some redecoration soon.

Still only 13 people in Runnyeye max during the day. Not surprisingly 12 of them were Levels 45+. I understand you wanting to take a break sometimes from the harsh "realities" of the high levels, but come on, hours and hours of slaughter for items u can't and should not use? Anyways, the BABS is great for a lvl 29 non-twink. Damage is 50+ and crits are at 90+. No more money spent on weps sold by people with more plat then they can use:)

I got the BABS from a guildmate low lvl pally who was given it by some high lvl caster. He didn't want to use 2hs so I traded my Brazen Brass Kilij to another guy for a Shiney Brass Halbred, a Giant Militia Sword, and like 45 pp or so. (Talk about a good deal). I traded the Giant Militia Sword, Banded Gaunts, and 10pp to the Pally for the BABS. Sold my BIBS to a Ranger for 90pp and sold my Gladius to some other guy for 44pp. I think I made out pretty well. The sword does look like a piece of crap, but the dmg is awesome. My max hit is up 10 pts to 54 and I can crit near 100. The speed and weight is impressive too. Can't beat it at lvl 23 being a non-twink. Can't wait to use it more.

Well this is a great weapon for those of you who train all your melee skills. With all those weapons on you all the time you will need them light like this one, with good ratio and easy to get and not to mention it will not kill your stamina bar.

I was using a Runic Carver and was considering a Mithril 2HS as my next choice. I got this from Runnyeye myself last week and I have to say, a lot will have to convice me to shell out the necessary platinum for a Mithril after getting this. The damage it can dish out is truly extraordinary. I find that having a haste spell cast on you while you are using this can actually reduce its damage.
No, it doesnt't look as nice, but at the end of the day I would rather be wandering around with something "that looks like it has been looted off a skellie" than be dead and have a nice looking corpse.

Concerning the debate about the Mithril 2H vs the Blackened Alloy ******* Sword.....I now have both swords, and according to my evertools logs and analysis data the two are virtually identical with regard to damage per minute during combat. So much for the haste vs. damage speculation, at least for my humble character. Hence, the weight difference (which, btw, is 2.5 for the BABS vs 8.5 for the Mith) might actually be important if stamina or weight in general is an issue for the individual. As for the way each sword looks, neither looks all that special.
Incidentally, the BABS that I just got dropped off a roaming Pickclaw Destroyer in the bottom (4th) level of Runnyeye. (Not the Lord)

I love all the arguments about Mith 2H vs. new BABS. Who the hell would actually use a BABS *and* have a haste item? Think about it...

Bought the sword for 140pp cause the guy already had one and needed to loot the other... It rocks on dmg and delay but it looks so gay! I hope they change the look in the next patch. Why would such a powerful sword look like it came off of a skeleton?

who cares about looks? i got a bibs right now and im glad that it looks short and non cool, i hate when newbies come up to me saying that my stuff is cool inspection me and begging saying that im rich and can spare the money or items, ive goten to now when i go into newbie areas i unequip myself so they dont bug me as much

Say what you will about the looks, sure there are much better weapons out there, but the price is way too high for most to buy, or get it from the mob that drops it. As for this sword it is wonderful for me Ive been using it out in Easter wastes and let me tell you it is rocking the mobs out there. I will continue to use it until I can gain my Soulfire.
So go ahead and call a lvl 40 a newbie all you want, while I continue to waste the scum that continue to roam Norath.

I was in runy eye the other night with a friend. I'm a 32 warrior and he is a 28 warrior. the ONLY mob that gave us a problem was the battlewizard. everything else was a breeze. We managed to get 2 BABS, 3 dropped but they are lore so we shouted for someone to come get the 3rd. We also got several of the alloy armor pieces (that my wifes lvl 3 warrior now wears) and a TON of the blackened iron. All the higher lvl mobs are random spawns so its not like you can camp them, thay will spawn anywhere on the lower lvl. We didnt see the longsword drop, but we never killed lord pickclaw either.

I saw someone auctioning this sword yesterday for 500pp, so I bought it, and sold my dark reaver. Wow, looks like a got a good deal. The look if this weapon kind of sucks, but hey, it kicks ***.

Figure they tried to keep people from farming in The Warrens and it became a dead zone, so they didn't put in the same code, and now it's farmed all to hell. Give it a few weeks and it will even out. There is no middle ground really.

1 cool thing is the place isent campable now, because the lord is a wandering spawn that has several spawn spots that are completely on random. So find a good tracker and track, find, and kill before anyone else.

Hehe, I can't believe they stuck a better 2h than a blade of xalgoz in here. Anyone have any comparison between the new runnyeye difficulty and Kaesora? Like, a group of 4 people around level 40 can own in Kaesora if reasonably balanced and heavy on the damage output (e.g. tank tank rogue cleric). Is a group like that too overpowered for the new bosses in Runnyeye? What levels are we talking on these new mobs?

YOU'RE right. The guy i flamed was talking bout the BALS not BABS. I cant find the original post, and i dont remember exactly what i said. I think i did misread, thinking what he was talking about was a 2hs weapon. But even so, the BALS is not the equal or near equal of the Crystalized sword. The Crys sword is not lore, and has a better damage ratio. The new Runnyeye is not at all as good as Velious. If you were to compare Crystal Caverns to Runnyeye there is no comptition, CC wins, there is much better loot in CC.
Sorry bout the inconsistencies in my facts, like i said i was tired. But my main point still stands, Velious is better

RE is still a ***** zone, they haven't changed much. They've added some lvl 30+ boss mobs, but other than that....its easy; mostly lvl 15 to 25 mobs with under 688hp (Scoriae dmg).
I'd say the toughest ******* to kill solo or in a group is Battlewizard Unak...he blasts for 200+ on a lvl 56 with about 80 resist in the two types he casts: magic and fire. He's got about 1200hp also...pretty high for this zone really.

Runnyeye is a high level fest on Innoruuk too, but once the newness dies off, it will become abandoned, and the levels that can hunt there for exp might go back. Heck, some members of our guild are thinking of having a guild event there once the novelty of it wears off.

That makes the crystalized sword much better cause you can dual wield with another crystalized or some other weapon of your choice. The new loot here is good, but it is not the equal of velious. Mith 2hander is 21/40 31% permenent haste
if you factor haste properly this makes the actual performance of a mith 2hander 21/31
however the dmg bonus for 2handers 40 dly and up is applied before haste is calculated
so you end up with a 21/31 plus the 40 and up dly bonus
so is 24/39 better than 21/31(plus bonus)
ONLY if you allready have a perm haste item
the only other factor which might change some minds is I believe the mith is 10wt this is 2.5wt
only half a stone heavier than a fighting baton
I don't think anyone will loose any sleep over the 3 sv vs poison

1) 2.5 weight kicks the **** outta the mithy 2h right there. It means that you will not have to take stamina breaks, or worry that your stamina is under 100 and therefore you'll lose ATK speed.

Also dropped by pickclaw destroyers. I got the BABS and a pair of Blackened Alloy Legplates off of a Destroyer who spawned outside of the bank by the water.
