I was trading in the bazaar yesterday and doing a search for ranger masks.... this nice thing popped up. Seller wanted 20pp for, I jumped and grabbed it up. If this is the best Ranger mask, then I guess I got real lucky! BTY the trader was directly behind me! LOL
Picked on up in the Bazaar the other day for 100p; much better than the Grotesque alloy mask I was wearing...and a Dang good deal as they are usualy priced from 500-750 on Torv.

this mask is worth alot more then the 1k i paid for it ( im a ranger ) though it may not be as good as most of the war mask it is one of the best ranger mask i have ever seen

I was passing through Bazaar and one of these was listed for 85pp. I had never seen it before but thought it was a good price and better than the Frost Giant beard i was wearing. Guess it was a REALLY good deal.

Lol.. Ditto.. I was hangin in the Bazaar tonite for a little bit, and saw this for 50pp...one was 50pp, others listed were a lot higher. A nice mask. My Ranger will like it... if the ogre warrior doesn't beat him up and take it away from him. :) ... ok, ok.. Warrior is 44, Ranger is 6...so no flames from rangers about Rangers can beat up Warriors or whatever. lol. hmmm... might get a few about the warrior picking on his LITTLE brother, tho.... nm :)

I was so lucky as to be given this mask by a high level (50+) player on the Saryn Server. I believe her name was Golddigger. She was trading silvery masks on a first come first serve basis for those who brought her a bottle of booze. She said that the first ranger would get a special mask. So I hauled butt to the tavern and bought up a bottle of honey mead and ran to her. I gave her the bottle and she told me that mine was special. Sweet!!! I never expected to get anything with such good stats. Being only level 14 at the time i was superstoked. I'm sure this will be with me for some time too. :D
It's a good mask. Had lots of offers for 3kpp. Naww I say.. Cause its good Ranger stuff ) Woot Woot )

This dropped for my guild in the icehouse, I belive it was Reivaj the Battlerager, I was only ranger/warrior so I got it. also note not 1 peice of quest armor dropped in 12 hrs :(

If you were pulling from the keep you were in the wrong area for armor...
I found one of these laying on the ground in FV when I was level 22. I was at the bank and saw a little trail of small bags leading away from the bank on the ground. I usually ignore this beause its fishing grubs or vegetables someone foraged. Well these were in row. I picked the first one up, silvery mask. Second one was another silvery mask. 3rd was the antlered mask. I have had many offers for this. For that reason I will not give it up. Thanks bored Uber Person.

this does not drop from blackburrow gnolls...
its part of a quest in KD that you turn in kobold paws.
Kobalds aren't easy mobs... they are blue to 60 (from what i gather, i know they are blue to 55). Usually takes a group of 6 to camp them, and at least two if not more of those people being 55+.
The captain gives you various loot, ive gotten two of these, another mask, and a giant scalemale tunic by turning in 16 paws.
More of a faction quest than an item quest...gives you faction with king, and some other giant faction, and negative claw of veeshan faction

That was probably from a high level 'seeding' loot in the area by giving it to mobs. =)

i got mine from Battlerager, he also drop Vehement Sword of Revaj, i cant remember stats but it had +6str/int

The Kobolds in Velious are TOUGH...but not TOO tough.
I'm not sure on how much HP they have, but their average hit is around 200 points of damage, with named hitting for as much as 350 + harm touch + enrage. Paws aren't dropped often, but they also drop Scalps and Bangles, which I suspect may be turned in in Skyshrine and/or Thurgadin as part of unknown quests.

hmmm, Tpos (in Velks Lab) who is a lvl 58 sk Kobby did a HT 914 hp and hits for max 230hp. Speaking of own xperiance. Very hard to believe some of em hits for 350.
max damage i've seen the kobalds do in velks (excluding nameds) is 200dmg.

Not too bad an item for you to twink with. I personally don't know how hard the Kobolds of Velious are, but kobolds have always been the whiping MOBs (i.e. orcs/gobs/kobolds are slaughtered in the millions every day), so I would think they wouldn't be too hard. Good luck rangers! (I don't see a warrior twink even wearing this for long, even though face items are hard to come by).

The Kobalds in Velkator's Labyrinth are not by any means the whiping MoBs that they are in other zones. There is a camp with 16 Kobalds level 45 to 52. Many are casters.
