these boots really are awsome... i wouldn't want the thurg ones or even the kael ones... but these ones r awsome...also to add that when these were made DS stacked with eachother alot now they dont..when ur on a raid or just a group u NEED sv's and hp.. even when ur soloing and snare breaks lose the extra hp helps sooo much.. also +mana is the stuff. currently using Coldain skin boots. i have some of the SS geear.. sleeves and pants. gratz to anyone whos gets um. ~just my 2cp~ since all the int caster boots have low lvl spells like necros get IvU on thers i think... we should get shadow step on ours. i always like to use that spell when snares break ect but never have an open gem slot
yay...i finally got the drop from ToV....now i get boots with no Int on them yay!....and the lvl 4 insta cast spell 2pt damage shield rox...i can run around gfay and PL all the noobs with it...w/o spending any mana!....i dont think ill be selling my coldains anytime soon..../sigh
Before some of you write off these altogether because of the effect, does anyone know the casting time? If its low enough, you could use it to fight behemoths that dispell you at a regular interval. I would think it should be fairly short considering the level of the spell *4*. If its instant these boots are bad ***.
ok anonymous, show me another pair of boots that have saves and mana? (that are this easy to obtain) the gems are a joke, and even 3 to all saves is something. I'm a 55 Wiz, and have all saves over 100, and int sitting at 212. a few more points of saves (actually lowest saves is poison at 112, unbuffed) would be nice. I solo so often it's scary, and most the mobs i solo have occasional casters, which put a crimp in things if your base saves are not high enough to resist their snares and roots... Saves are needed more often than you think, and almost every raid i can think of (except Ssra), and most experience groups you need resists. And if you're not in a raid, or experience group, what are you doing that you need mana or resists?
Anyhow, yeah the mana is worth it, and the saves are a bonus, and yes my int has been past 200 since i was 15th level... I'd wear these boots simple cause it's a bit more mana, and a bit more saves than what i had wearing GEBs...
I wonder if some of you really know what your talking about, or just like to post stuff. Im a lvl 51 wizzy myself, ints way past 200 even with mana items. 45 mana on these is great, sure doesnt sound like much but the stuff adds up. And the saves on this suck, dont even try and make them sound good, you only uses saves in certain situations anyway, so why have something thats 3sv to something when you could have higher... depending on your raid of course. Who cares about the effect, go cry to your mommy, id rather have a crappy one than no effect
Pfffft...resists...45 mana...at a time when 200int is a joke to get. A wonderful item for a pvp server, including the effect. Now I don't have to mem okeil's everytime I rebuff, in order to keep the top slot open to dispell Splurt or Winged Death.
I am a lvl 60 wizard on Brell Serilis, and I cant wait to get a pair of these boots. I can never get my INT below 210 it seems anymore, so eboots are prolly one of my most worthless items, until I start to strip down INT for resist gear. Resist, and surviving Dragon AE is where its all at, and these boots will help out nicely.
Even when the resist are not needed, the 45 mana is going to be of more help than the 9 int i get from eboots.
Really, if you think about it, it doesn't matter if you get int on boots at that level. Most wizzies I know that are above 50 have at least their Epic, and many have a high int robe, to boot. And also, take a look at the rest of the armor pieces, and I think you'll find plenty of int, if you really need it. The one thing about these, is that Verant intends them to be a set, so look before you speak out of your *****
I can't blame folks for wanting a better effect, unfortuantely that is not the best effect.
After reading these posts I wonder if anyone has thought before the wrote there comments about the fact that these have no int on these. These actually have the most pure mana at +45, according to this site. Sure it doesn't have any int, but it has decent stats in all resists, and by 40th level most casters have the 200 max int already so why would you care about getting more int.
I wonder if most of the people posting about wanting more int. are even close to going out and questing for these to begin with. If you want the int. get the Coldain version and forget the Dragon version.
I dont have a wizard, but if I did I would be looking for spell resistence, the creatures at higher levels have spells that hurt, and you will or should not be front liners, and your int will most likely be maxed by 50, you will even have a few points to spare if I was guessing, so get the mana where you can.
Hey this effect isn't so bad. Ever wish you had a personal bug zapper to keep away those pesky mosquitos, gnats and bees when attending a picnic with Al'Kabor and the boys? Of if you need a little elbow room in the mosh pit at the Back Street Bards concert, you can just click your heels together and everyone steps back. Give this effect a chance, you'll like it...
Bull..... the least they could have done is given the higher wiz dmg sheild..... they give a lvl 4 spell on boots that are hard to get (and no int I notice....) and this is suppose to be good stuffs......!?!?
This is just another way that EQ shows how much it hates wizards
This item is so completely useless! My class is hated by Verant more than any other -- look how they nerfed my class! WAHHHHH! Call the WAHHHmbulance!
Get over it! You are mad because you are not getting uber-item? The sneeches that want one star to the right, the sneeches that want two to the left, and those that could care less, go play the game and have a good time.
Just like to add that I am very disappointed with these. No int and the small amount of mana is not worth the strain. Yeah the added resists are nice I guess but overall what a let down.
