Got lucky and found the shardwing courier up in western wastes once. I didn't know what it was for at the time but figured it must be some quest and I should probably kill it. So I did....killed it as a 60 shaman. Not sure if I had torpor or not then, probably not, it took me a while to get the spell. I slowed, dotted, rooted. Took at least 10min to kill, probably more, but everything takes forever to kill as a shaman. It didn't hit that hard but had lots of hp. It doesn't cast at all.

So then I looked it up later and found it was for the quest for the frozen shard. I had heard about that before and wanted one for my rogue. So now my 47 rogue Faypoker has it. Is a nice weapon, procs enough, and 13dmg for a rogue weapon is pretty good until you get your epic.

And yes you'll need ally faction or close with tormax for the quest and probably at least dubious with the other 2 giant factions so you can get to the NPC alive. He is by the armor quest guys behind Tormax's throne.

Procs at lvl 44, confirmed. I got it at 43, started proc'n at 44. This is the weapon that should hold me till I get my epic, I love it.

This is the result of a simple quest. You must loot from the Shardwing Courier in Western Wastes a note of some sort. Turn the note into Fjohar Frozenshard (not really his first name, but that's close) he's behind king Tormax in Kael Drakkel. You must have ally Tormax faction to get the Shard. Also heard it could be done with warmly faction. I dunno how easy the shardwing courier is, though. I would assume that this item isn't that common, cuz I never see one for sale in EC. The price shouldn't be 200pp imo, more like 12-25kpp.

I bought this for 6k. In an uber guild they are not hard to get at all, and there are a few weapons better than this that are not no drop.

it doesn't proc a whole lot for me with 148 dex; one to three times in the average fight, sometimes zero sometimes five/six times.

Affliction is a level 19 shaman diseased based 30dd and 6pt DoT for 21 ticks (126 over 2min 6sec)

What a great rogue weapon. And yes, the drive through gentlemen had it correct to a certain degree. Rogues are the masters of MELEE damage when an N.P.C.'s back is turned from us (i.e. your grouped). Nobody outdamages us in that situation, sorry.

Darned straight. The only thing that outdamages a rogue is a wizard, standing WELL AWAY from the fight. =)

Actually, we are. No class in the game, casting or non-casting, can out-damage a backstabbing rogue.

You can't honestly say that without giving the duration of a fight. If the fight lasts 2 seconds, then a wizard can manaburn and do more damage than anyone in the game, if you're talking a 20 or 30 minute fight, I'd say Rogues and Monks are about tied for damage output.

what does it matter, you cannot judge every class in the same situations. a wizard/mage can deal the most dmg fastest, yet they cant take dmg for squat. but there are times when the mobs are quite resistant having to rely on melees. rogs are excelent dmg dealears in group, and monks also, yet there are times when you can only use special weapons to even hit the mobs, ie: seru, having to rely on casters. every class has their strong points and weaknesses in each situation. it is quite pointless to argue over it.

also.... while hunting in UP the other day,
group 1: warrior, SK, warrior, pally, cleric, druid
group 2: wizzy, mage

i was in group 2 and we got the xp about 3/4 times without getting agro, so =P

well no sense keeping it a secret from us on bristlebane , we get beat up by Vox basicaly everyday of the week. so unless this drops from an orc pawn you wont see many on our server
