2 words..........Dreamweaver Pantaloons....ok a few more words these are sweet pants that can be found in Umbral Plains..i use my Warlock pants to buff pet then switch back to these..check em out
ROFL you think that Blighted Pantaloons are better than ALotT?!?! Ok bro, lay off the manisi herbs, it's WAY affecting your judgement. Rotting Trousers are one of the best necro leggings in the game that is easy to aquire. ALotT has maybe 1 better stat, but over all the shyshrine legs beat it down packed.
Augment Death Increase Attack Speed for between 49% (L39) to 55% (L45) in 150 ticks Increase Strength from 39 (L39) to 45 (L50) Increase Armor Class (AC) from 10 (L39) to 12 (L50)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Classes: Nec (L39)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skill: Alteration Allowable Targets: Pet
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Range to Target: 100 feet
I do not see how anyone could complain about these pants. Yes, it would be nice to have the better augmentation spell on them but these would rock without any effect.
The 45hp and 50mana are the best stats on this, thought the sta and int are nice too. The 4mr is awesome as well. The other stats and effect are all just icing on the cake. The only leggings that I would consider wearing over these is the Shiny Metallic Pantaloons (SMP). And I would be just as excited to get these as a pair of SMP.

if anything the mana makes this item, so the effect is a lower lv spell...bah its a great spell and you could mem augmentation at leisure knowing that your pet is already hasted :) i havent had pants for 51 lvs so these will be just fine for me ;)
Balance. Augmentation of Death is a 55 spell and it's possible to obtain these pants before that. Guess they didn't want under 55's having the spell. They could place an activation limit on I guess but then you'd get the complaints about how "I'm lvl 54 and can't use the effect". It's still the only pet buff a necro uses from 39-54 so it's still a pretty good deal
Also, because you have to be 55+ to be seriously considered for a ToV raid, yeah...Augment Death is a wasted proc on these pants. I like the mana/hp boost, though, as well as the saves...
Those who think these pants blow are seriously smokinig some wicked Manisi Herb. WHAT is wrong with a free (note: free mean NO MANA, NO FIZZLE) pet buffs one of our highest buffs to mind you.. and that's not GOOD enough for you? Bah, git outta here and go join some gay *** whiner's guild like Enrapture or something :p
The cast time on the Thurgadin quest legs are 12 secs, not 100% sure if it is the same on the skyshrine legs, but it should be similar.
Also I'm lvl 57 atm, and I still use the legs as an effect because I havent yet seen the 55 pet buff for sale yet in the bazaar. So the effect is sill useful.
The best part is that you can't just load up augment death and then cast it. It has the most annoying recovery time.
As to the arguments about necros effectiveness, nerfing, etc... Necros are probably the most powerful soloing class at higher levels (druids and wizzies might level faster just for quad kiting), but we are the most ineffective in raids and epic encounters. Not useless, but least effective IMO.
I'm not sure of the cast time on these...but who cares!?! Augment Death is a pre-fight spell and lasts 15 mins. It'd save me from spell swapping every time Augment wears off....awesome.
OMG you dont usually use it? That spell totally increases the effectivness of our pets...(Adds AC, HP, and haste)... Especially since they suck now, since Verant = dumb, and made mages better... grr...
Noodlz Aldente 7th Hammer Down with Verant, Necro and mage pets should be the same. GRAR!
while its true that magician pets outstrip necro pets now, that doesn't take into account the PC behind the wheel. necros are usually able to solo longer and harder than mages just because our spells are more attuned to that playing style.
If we're gonna make mage pets and necro pets the same, why stop there? Lets give Mages DoT's, fear, a snare, mana regen and all that great stuff. If you didn't know, THATS why mage pets are better to compensate and BALANCE the classes. Odd concept eh?
I am so pissed at people crying and whining about there class not being as good as anothers. I have a 53 necro and i can solo ALOT easier than a mage. And as far as grouping goes we can heal where mages cant. SO stop looking across the fence and enjoy your own green grass.
I'm only up to level 29 at this point with the pair ... been playing on and off for a little over a week.
At this point the Mage by far has the better pet. And the mage reallt takes the mobs down fast with his DD spells ... the Necro takes mobs out just as easily with stacking DoTs, but the necro's pet is almost alwayslow health when the mob is dead... I then need to either summon another, blow alot of mana healing it up, or make it sit and wait till it has enough HP for another fight.
At this point the Mage definetly has the edge when solo. The Mage can DS the pet too ... where as far as I know the Necro can only DS himself (a fun tactic when you have Temperance and Shammy Buffs). BTW I probably spent twice the pp twinking out the Necro then I did for the Mage. (@60k on the necro, @30k on the Mage)
Dual boxing though the team is devistating... the necro keeps the agro by stacking 4 dots and Lifetaping ... then runs in circles while the mage finishes it off. They Kill a mob for the mana cost of 4-5 Necro spells (4dots andmaybe a lifetap) and one Mage Nuke. And thier pets stay nearly full health. If I just have C1 this is nonstop killing.
Once they get into the lower level raids ... they will be a nice damage and utility team. CotH and Mana dumps. FD and CotH for splits. Mod Rods and Corpse Summon for Quick Raid recovery. Necro and Mage Debuffs (not sure if they all stack ... but regardless the mob will be debuffed).
yeah I know alot has changed since the time o the original post ;)
