It is used in the Shade's Bane task from Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm in Valdeholm.
Once you have the task, and when you get to that step, (i.e. can't be pre-looted) you will at the appropriate time in the task, running through the lava in Ashengate on the west side turning it into a "Cup of Lava" which is now a 4 slot container.
This new 4 slot container will be used to combine 4 Mark of Rallos Zek into 1 Darksphere. Which you will need to do twice.
