It says that they can be used in Quest. What quest is this involved in or is it actually just for looks?

Found one of these in Plane of Justice too, and yes you can wear em now.

A few of the casters in my guild picked up some of these tonight, not knowing what they were for.
They are now:
LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: CHEST
AC: 10
Wt: 0.5 Size: MEDIUM
NEC WIZ MAG ENC
HUM ERU HIE DEF GNM IKS
And they ARE wearable. Saving it until I hear about a quest, or for fashion shows.

Intentional. It's just 'theatrical clothing'. It's just to have the NPC look like casters rather than naked. It wasn't intended to be loot, it's just the only way that we can make them look like we want them to look.

I casted Identify on it and it came up with Item Lore: Robe of Dissent

I went there with my guild lastnight and we worked our way through the upper area and we found a table with various NPC's around it, kina like they was having a meeting. I got to a safe area and conned them all, Apprehensive and Amiables except for the Greenmist Dipolmat, he Scowled at me. From what it looked like to me they were all leaders or speakers of every evil guild on Norrath. There's a Bertox following Gnome, a few humans one being a Dismal Rager, other a Steel Warrior. There was a Heretic of Odus, Greenblood Emmisary (ogre). I'm gonna work on my Greenmist faction then head up again and try hailing.

OK, At first I thought this was utter garbage - I mean who in their right mind would want a NO DROP cloak from the Plane of Hate that does nothing but offer AC? But I guess this is what Verant was talking about with the changing of a few Epic Quest procedures. It makes sence that you would turn this in for something to continue your Epic journey since it is LORE, NO DROP.
Anyone know what quest this would be towards? My guess is a caster of some sort - the races specified seem to point towards a chanter or wizzy. Most druids are ELF or HEF, so I don't think it's that class. How many ERU or HIE Necromancers are there? I think we can eliminate that class as well as any tank class.
Any thoughts?

Actually, there are a good number of Erudite Necromancers out there. And why rule out a mage on this item? This will probably end up being a caster quest item, not epic related thou.

I agree with you.....plus I think that using armor such as this for an epic is a good idea. Better than handing in like a misc. item that really dosent make much sense. Basically, its a new angle. Why not.

it doesn't list slots on armor. unless it can be worn in 2 or more slots.
Picked up 2 of these last night and it can't be equipped. As for not seeing slots listed if it only has one, unless that's a recent change I've always seen slots listed lately whether it was one slot or multiple.
They added the slots in the tag around a year ago, I'd guess. They weren't there when I started playing 2 years ago.

Well, we got like 40 of these last night, and they ARE NOT wearable. Notice there's not SLOT: CHEST on it. Maybe its a bug and they forgot to make it wearable, but this is the common drop and the Rainment of the Chosen is the rare along with Songshawl.
We figure it is for a quest, or its a common drop item they forgot to make wearable, and thus garbage. And even if it was wearable.... it looked like crap, its the same color as the necro newbie robes from Neriak hehe.
