What do you do with Trumpy's head to get this hammer?

i was in butcherblock the other day, and i thought "what the heck, as long as i'm here, might as well kill some dwarves"
long story short, i killed the dwarf named "nyzil bloodforge" and looted this hammer and two other 2HB weapons off him (3 2HBs on one mob? i guess dwarves have 6 arms now...) unfortunately, the merchant won't take this, and it's worthless to players cuz of the horrible delay and +10 sv magic is not worth the loss of damage nowadays, so it looks like i'm going to have to destroy it...

It's not worthless to players on a progression server. This is actually still a pretty good weapon when you're in vanilla or even with one or two expansions open. The hardest part of getting it is the run from one side of the world to the other.

No need for a port
# Apr 11 2002 at 4:50 AM Rating: Decent
I've been using the luclin nexus as a port, just go to odus then up to the moon, then to Gfay. I've sold three hammers and am working on my forth atm. 15pp is the normal selling price I get on Brell. I would keep using one but was given a Chetari wardstaff by my guild =)

Has anyone gotten this weapon after Luclin came out? Can beastlords use it?

Yes, it works.. March 19th, just got on after the patch to get my new rezz spells and had the head in bank so I figured what the heck.

Gave it to my BST kitty and it hits slower than the government.

Yes.
My level 5 Barbarian Beastlord is using it right now on Cazic thule. It looks much better on her than on my Halfling druid- Also its a powerful lightsource which is handy. Perfect for a starting character -- but stats arent great enought to last for long... delay of 50! ;(
She could tailor armor in between swings!

I did the quest after luclin release and gave it to her last week.

I dont play a druid. I play a cleric. But id have to say ANY 2HB is kind of a bad idea. A lot of you get tomes and books, only letting you use 1HB effectively. Not to mention, shields, like the charred guardian. Practice your 1HB. I have a very nice Wrath bone hammer. Most casters, high enough, dont melee after a certain point anyways. I think it would just be cool to add this weapon to my collection, (since I killed Trumpy for fun, and he seemed like a snot), but it does seem to have moderately poor stats. The only saving grace really is the +10 vs magic.

It all depends on what you can afford, and what level you are. It is an easy quest, and a great cheap starter MAGIC weapon. For levels up to 15 or 20 it is a perfect weapon to hunt wisps with so you can afford something better.

Good weapon for a barbarian shaman, but around lvl 14 its unique usefullness starts to wear thin.
best place to kill trumpy

Ask trumpy [what about sragg]. He will then walk behind the warriors' guild castle where you can kill him with impunity.

They removed that dialog. It was making killing him too easy. The best place to kill him now as at the end of the dock where Faren stands and hopefully you have a snare or root handy to prevent him from running into range of the guards or any other NPC that might be on the same faction.

My thoughts.

I am also in pursuit of the Bloodforge Hammer. I'm a lvl 14 DRUID, so I don't anticipate any problems along the way. I killed TRUMPY pretty early on. I was about lvl 7 or 9. After killing him twice, my faction with the Corrupt Qeynos Guards seems terrible! It got worse over time. First I was being jumped by just Trumpy, then others started showing up on different occasions.

I do a lot of business in Qeynos. It's my favorite city. Traveling around inside of it safely is a thing of the past now. Ever since I wacked Trumpy a long time ago...I am ALWAYS jumped by quite a few guards. Even though i'm at a moderatly high lvl, I still stand no chance. One of the guards (so i've heard) is around lvl 25 or higher. (I believe its Arathur) In order to do ANYTHING inside SOUTH Qeynos, I must be invisable 100% of the time. If not, I will be jumped by trumpy's 2 side kicks and more than a handful of corrupt guards.

The corrupt guards are not all focused in the South Qeynos zone either. (the zone with the bank and docks) There are also corrupt guards in the NORTH Qeynos zone. So if you plan on doing this quest, be prepared for the consequences. I have even been attacked while sitting on the stone ground at the Gate. I am only safe when invisable, or sitting by the gate after casting Treeform on myself.
RE: My thoughts.
# Oct 20 2001 at 2:38 AM Rating: Decent
If you do the Orc Scalp quest in Highpass Hold you will raise faction with the corrupt Qeynos guards. Hope that helps.

To get your faction closer to neutral, try killing Guard Cheslin, in Qeynos Hills. Easy kill, and usually by himself. I've killed him about 1-2 times for every time I kill Trumpy, and my faction's stayed about the same.

the bloodforge hammer is not really good at all,it sucks.13/50 is really bad damage and delay, but it might be good for a level 5-9 person.the stats aren't all that great either.
sucks??!!
# Jul 15 2001 at 2:04 PM Rating: Default
k anyone who says this weapon sucks is a MORON

hellO!! 10 SV MAGIC!!! a level 12 can solo the undead king with this weapon!
and even 13/50 is still pretty good, for how easy this quest is. since it takes like no time at all to do, you can just find a bored level 20 to group with u, kill the dwarf, let u loot the head, and you're golden!

I have to agree with the assesment about the magic resist. The damage and delay isn't the greatest, but if you are on a PvP server MR is what it's all about, the higher the better. Even on blue servers, you'll resist a lot more NPC/mob spells than you would otherwise, so how can you lose?

Bloodforge or an RTS?
# Jun 10 2001 at 1:22 PM Rating: Decent
I'm currently playing a level 9 (soon to be 10) wood elf druid, and I desperately need a new weapon. Should I shell out the plat for a Runed Totem Staff, or do the quest and get a Bloodforge? The quest sounds better, 'cause I know my way to Qyenos and it's no big deal for me to cross the zones, but I wanted to ask for opinions before I took the time.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 02 2003 at 5:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why dont u just "shell out the plat" for a bone handled scimitar...n00b 2001 person

This weapon DOES not suck for the level and ease you can get it, and has a better ratio than most low level 2h blunts, twinks need not comment.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 28 2001 at 7:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) um guys this Hammer seriously sucks donkey butt! its crap, crap slow and crap and a waste of time, just go get a dwarven mace or singing mace or whatever they are in CB, there alot better and easier to get

Alternate Method
# Apr 28 2001 at 11:27 AM Rating: Default
Well some of you lowers probably won't do this but I killed Nyzil Blooforge and he just dropped it heheh
RE: Alternate Method
# Jul 05 2001 at 12:43 PM Rating: Decent
Just posting to back this up-anyone who wants this should first check to see if Nyzil is being camped in BB, at the Crossroads. A higher level Necro gave me the Bloodforge and some Bronze Boots, which both dropped when he killed the fool Dwarf. Sold it to low level Druid for 5-10pp.
The Quest
# Apr 01 2001 at 3:15 PM Rating: Decent
I currently have the bloodforge Hammer and am going to sell it for 30pp. The quest starts in Quynos. Attack Trumpy Irontoe when he wanders out of the bar (about every 10-15 min) and on the dock. There u slay him. He may run a little fast so watch out. Loot his corpse and hold onto the head. From there go to Kaladim and turn it into Byzar Bloodforge. He is located under the arenadown a long hall. Then he will give u the Bloodforge Hammer.

WARNING: If u have fought the slaves in Crushbone a lot your faction may not be high enough for the quest. In this case go on the legonnair's pad or orc centurian's belt quests. Good luck!

Where does this quest start?
# Mar 06 2001 at 6:27 PM Rating: Default
Yeah i hear u have to do a quest before this. What is it? i cant do it yet but when i can i want to try it. So if anyone can post where to go or post it here that would be kool thanks a bunch!!

very common
# Feb 01 2001 at 8:59 AM Rating: Default
The bloodforge hammer is very common now. the typical price is only 10pp and even that price seems to be hard to get nowadays. Beware, killing Trumpy too many times will make you KOS with the local rogues guild in qeynos. So local rogues, i advise you not to ruin your faction by helping trumpy killers.

Note: Trumpy and his two rogue bodyguards hang out at the fish's ale pub at the qeynos docks. Being KOS by the circle of unseen hands (qeynos rogue guild) will make it impossible to do the moonstone for booze quest there (until level 20 at least).
Good quest Item (lvl 9-11)
# Jan 25 2001 at 6:01 PM Rating: Default
I just got this Hammer 3 nights ago for my level 11 Woodelf Druid and man I love it. Already I hit for 25+ compared to my max hit of 14.
Two KEY notes if you attempt to get this awesome hammer. 1) make sure you pratically max out your 2H-blunt. (you WILL miss alot and the 50 attack delay is a killer for recovery time.)
2) Make sure your around level 9 to make this journy. Alot people will say that you can make this long trip earlier. I don't recommend it. West and East commens are very dangerous and without CAMO on, you can take a nasty beating.

ADVICE: If you are starting in Kelthin (woodelf city), I would recommend hanging out near the Orc lift to ask for a Port to Karanas (two zones away from Qeynos) Fight orcs for a while until someone is actually heading that direction. Fast forward to Qeynos. Once you arrive in Qeynos, BIND at the front gate. After you bind, head on over to meet Trumpy(he's a push over.. really easy to beat). Once beheaded, go back out to the front gate of Qeynos and ask for a port to either West Commens or ButcherBlock(BB). Almost always someone is heading to WC so the trip won't take quite as long. If you get a port to BB, great! your done!. Most likely you'll get a port to WC. Once arrived, CAMO yourself to be hidden from the baddies and head over to EAST commenlands. 90% of the time someone is porting over to BB so just head over to the Desert entrance for a quick and easy port. (I've done this quest now 3 times and every time I've gotten a port within 5-10 minutes of entering EW)

Tipping: for each port you do, I recommend a 1-2 plat donation.

Note to Druids: Once you turn in your Head to Bloodforge in South Kadlim and get the Hammer. GATE BACK to Qeynos to go kill Trumpy again. Why?? because you can SELL your Bloodforge hammer for an easy 25-40 plat to low-mid level characters. And because you have the head resting in your Bank, hand it over again AFTER you sell your hammer. This more than covers the cost of the trip and gets you some cash too!
RE: Good quest Item (lvl 9-11)
# Mar 21 2001 at 11:20 AM Rating: Decent
I don't know about the situation on other servers but if a Lvl 9-11 offered 1-2 pp to a Lvl 29+ Druid for a port they'd get laughed right outta the zone!! =)

This quest was MEANT to be tough and time consuming so that when you finally get the BF hammer you feel like you've actually accomplished something!

This isn't meant as a slam to the previous poster. I know that on many servers this is just the way things have turned out. Its just sad that "kids" (low level characters) nowadays will never know the excitement and adventure associated with a great quest such as this.

my 2 cp... =)
