Foraged one of these near Skyfire the other day- had no idea what it was, but I saw someone selling one in the Bazaar for 1500pp... so I listed it on my trader for 1300 and it sold the first night. If it's common and used only for dye, I'm wandering dazed and confused as to why someone paid so much for it. Could it also be used for something else?
Unless there is some sort of mad sickness running through players that causes them to run throughout The Overthere searching for Prickly Succulents to give these to, then these things are not strictly foraged items. Pulled quite a few of them off of Prickly Succulents near the PoK portal in The Overthere.
I got one of these while by the outpost in OT..dropped from a spiked succulent. Since it says foraged, I assume someone gave it to the mob..but who can say for sure?
You'll notice that dye ingredients for the LoY racial robes that used to be only foraged in certain zones, now also are drops off of certains mobs in this zones. Likely they thought that tailors would become too dependent on foragers otherwise. Makes sesne, as the dyes are used in int caster robes, and the only int casters that can forage are iksar necromancers. They wanted people making the robes for themselves to be a little more self sufficient, is my guess.
I agree you wont catch mine wearing a dress but an Iksar Shadowknight is also an INT caster. He can forage as all Iksar can, and its no drop so the Iksar race can share amongst themselves. Kinda nice for such a hated and discarded race to have something special like this.
